City-Link, I just don't understand

Sorry to hear you've has problems with City Link. We use them as our courier where I work and have found them to be among the best (and we've tried them all!!)... although poor in some areas (south wales, isle of wight and norfolk seem to be the worst).
Please don't be put off using retailers who use them though, during the early part of 2008 they're intergrating with Target and so should, in theory, improve... we've noticed an improvement on areas who have merged already.
Also, City Link drivers aren't paid per delivery... they get an extremely poor wage, barely above minimum if I remember correctly.0 -
Well it's still going to come down to the same thing, deliveries by our local depot which obviously employs slacker drivers who lie. The guy who eventually delivered seemed genuine and hard working but my are isn't his normal one."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

CityLink drivers are the biggest liars and the laziest b*stards I've ever come across.
End of story.
......oops sorry, I forgot the Labour Government...OK, second biggest then!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Last year I was expecting two parcels from Citylink - both from the same place. I had tracking numbers and watched the progress online. One parcel arrived, the second didn't. The driver had no idea about the second parcel.
So I came in and rang Citylink. They informed me that the driver could not find my address. Fair enough, I thought, the council recently changed the name of the street and not all satnavs and PC systems have caught up with it yet. So I explained the fact that DEX XXX used to be DEY YYY. They rang back and said that the driver was in the area and would drop it off.
Ten minutes later, there was a knock at the door. Yes, you guessed it, it was the SAME driver! The parcel had been on his van all along and the "couldn't find my address" was hogwash, as he had just left my address!0 -

The only way I can get back at City Link is to not use them and not use people who do. Sorry but is that simple. I will not use a company who are unable and unwilling to do what they are employed to do.We all evolve - get on with it0 -
Citylink have recently been taken over by a German company and all their Drivers are now on a personal contract. They are treated like sh1te so please be gentle with them. I know that some of them are not great at their jobs but hey if you were paid sh1te money would you push yourself ?Education is compulsory, school is not.

Your company is probably losing sales as many people can't be bothered with the hastle of City Link.Sarah-Jane wrote: »and have found them to be among the best (and we've tried them all!!)... although poor in some areas (south wales, isle of wight and norfolk seem to be the worst).

Seems contradictory, if they're one of the best any improvement wouldn't be of consequence.0 -
Arrrggggggg !! - after deciding I would NEVER order from any company that uses City link again I have just discovered that something I bought on Ebay will be sent (but of course not delivered!!!!!_ by Citylink ......... I despairI have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0

Well guess what, my missing parcel was found yesterday (24hrs late) and they tried to deliver it !!
But after driver called his depot they said either have it and refuse tomorrows or refuse yesterdays and accept todays !!
But like I'd said to BT even if it did turn up (it did eventually) that the only way to keep my contract was a brand new phone not the refurbed one that didnt turn up on time !!
So I got the driver to write "REFUSED becuase BT sending new phone due to non delivery on the right day !!
The driver was brilliant and not the normal one for our area and he had no info that it was late or anything till I explained to him, thats when he called his depot and lost his rag with them
I said I dont blame him but that I cant accept it as the new one is an upgrade (should come today by CL) !!
He told me that they get a basic wage but what wage they get depends on them fulfilling their deliveries or attempting to at least !!
The problem with mine was obviously the local depot in Stoke on trent (who Ive had no issues with till Tues) but because BT mobile repiar department ONLY use CL I am stuck with them again today !!
If any of you can spare some good vibes please send them this way today !!
I really need this phone today, being disabled and stuck in the house becuase the phone isnt here is doing my brain in too !!
And also Target have been operating as CL since may 2007 !!Cloudedbrains aka Donna0 -

Sorry mate, but no one forces them to work there.
If they are treated liks !!!!!! then they have a choice to leave for another job....
Ok maybe some can't for whatever reasons and they need to work there to support their family... well in that case all the more reason to do their job properly because if they get sacked for being a lazy !!!! then they will be stuffed!!0
