The thing is depending on how bad the customer service is, I tend to have a one strike and you're out policy. I can't afford time and money to keep trying with companies just in case it was a fluke occurence. Their loss not mine. Things go wrong and some of my best experiences with companies have been when something has gone wrong and it is how they dealt with it that really matters. If this had simply been a case of one bad driver then I may see it the same way you do, but every single phone conversation (must have been about 10 in all) I've had with anyone from the company has lead to bad feeling because of incompetance, attitude, miscommunication, lies, unhelpfullness. When that happens then it's one fluke compounding another which statistically simply leads to a conclusion of a bad company with bad systems.

Every company has bad incidences but I can only go by experience and so far of all the couriers I've dealt with, CL hasn't just been worse it's been orders of magnitude worse. I have never taken the decision of "banning" a company lightly (in fact I can only think of two on my list, Mesh Computers and O2) and once I make that decision for definite then it doesn't matter if the company actually realistically does get better, they've still lost my custom and that's the price they pay for handling things badly in the first place. I'd rather stick with a company that know what customer service is from the get go.

I still haven't made a firm decision yet on CL and that's mostly down to scan's email about CL doing an investigation of the matter so I'll see how that goes. I think I may have ended up making an exception for purchasing from Scan anyway because I have full confidence in them at least sorting things out if anything went wrong.

Mum just had huge shock this morning. She answered the door to a huge bunch of flowers from City Link! She's not sure how to feel about that. She said considering all the work I've done and it's been me sorting it out that I should get the flowers  . She's not sure what to do, does one thank them for the flowers in these situations.... :D

A thank you for the flowers is in order but it should be sent with a "what are you doing for the receiptiant who has been seriously messed about??"

It's strange there's no note with them or anything.

    Had occurred to me :rotfl:

The only clue is the address on the outside that says my mum is recipient and the sender is city link.

  • OK, I have to give credit where it's due. My son phoned me last night to tell me that my present would actually be delivered today 4 days early (well done Ebuyer).
The CL driver has just delivered it (he's actually still sitting outside my house eating his lunch I think). Well done to CL too.

Well my mum pointed out they seemed to have no problem delivering the flowers and that was when we weren't expecting any deliveries. So I wonder how they reconcile that with claiming we were so hard to deliver to.

  • They could have arranged for a florist to deliver the flowers ;)
