But that's the issue with City Link, it isn't one company! It's several separate franchise companies working under one name. So if one branch gets it right or wrong they can blame problems on another.

In my case the local branch AND central office were useless.

  • Out of all the City link deliveries I have had I've only had ONE SERIOUS problem and thats the one detailed in here about my replacement mobile phone :(
All mine come through the Burslem depot in Stoke-on-Trent that much I do know :)

Yep me too, problem with a delivery. Ordered something via tinternet, no idea when item will be delivered, yes tried to deliver but I was not home. Card was left. I phoned using number on card to an automated system and IT gave me the choice of delivery next day, or the day after, I chose next day for it to be delivered.

So got up nice and early waited and waited. Got to 3pm, called depot and asked if my parcel would be delivered today, thick pillock (girl) assumed so, almost like Little Britain sketch "computer says no" well this girl said yes it would be delivered, I asked can you assure me of that yes she says.

Yep you guessed it no delivery, so at 6pm called depot again, spoke to a guy and he said the parcel was not on the van to be delivered today, I said "What", I had waited in all day, phoned this afternoon and was told my parcel was deifinately on the van, he said don't know why she told you that the computer says it is still here, so I said what about your automated phone system that comfirmed delivery, "Don't know" he said. SO when will it be delivered now I asked, tomorrow I think!! Yee gods, what a total shambles, yes it did get delivered the next day.

I wrote a letter of complaint wasting my time staying for an item that was NEVER going to be delivered. Not heard a thing....not really surprised. Although my complaint is not with the drivers, but with their computer system, their telephone system and the muppets that work at the depot...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad:

  • When they lost/found my replacement for a faulty mobile I was left housebound while it was sorted as I am disabled and can't go anywhere with no phone for safety reasons and then AFTER I'd had a free upgrade from BT mobile "that arrived okay by Citylink" and then tried to deliver the found one 3 times AFTER the free upgraded one had been delivered successfully !!

Typical of citylink. They did this with a live tree I was expecting in December. Then after delivery was cancelled they tried to deliver it twice!

Here here - I must admit I have a slightly different name to describe them, sounds very similar but begins sh....

Have also had to rename Parcel Force to Parcel Farce when they couldn't find our address and send the failed delivery card via normal Royal Mail asking us to pick up from the depot.
 I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
