More bad experience from City Link here... they tried to deliver to my house one day when I wasn't it... depot is miles away so rang and arranged for redelivery next day and specifically stated "I will not be in, please deliver to ANY neighbour on the street" which the girl noted down on the parcel. Next day I get home from work and they have left another bloody card so I still had to go and collect it from miles away because they are incapable of reading and following simple instructions....

to be fair i wouldnt accept that as a redelivery request.alright for the girl on the phone but a driver trying to get round isnt exactly going to have time to try random doors on a street.
i had an argument just before xmas with a woman on the phone for that very reason.

Although to be completely fair I bet City Link still counted it towards the failed delivery quota.

Why they have to lie, I don't know!

Wouldn't suprise me if they paid per job, so they just drive past all their jobs one day, then actually attempt to deliver the next thus getting paid for the same job twice

    That wouldnt surprise me

Well, the parcel was finally delivered by someone on their way home, at 5.40pm.

Rang amazon and explained the situ and they have refunded the delivery charge :)

Glad you got it sorted. I almost feel like painting my front door a different colour on principle to catch them out. :rotfl:

I think at the least I'll video with my camera if they do turn up. I've lost count now how many times I wished I'd had CCTV outside and recorded telephone conversations. I suppose it's one of those things to get around to doing but keep putting off or forgetting.

Once have a delivery of frozen food missed because the fat toss pot who worked for citylink couldn't work out a door entry system with a three foot high metal sign with 3 inch high letter on it telling him how to use it (he shoved a card under the comunal door of a box of flats - muppet). He then kicked one of the boxes in anger when he got sent back for it having only managed 2 out of 3 boxes. The bimbo at their office wasn't much brighter.

The funniest bit of that is the friend's response.

The amazing bit is the fact that she has a friend. Better than being her enemy I guess. :D
  • We had 2 experiences of sh***y link before Christmas. First they tried to deliver some underfloor heating, and on two occasions they claimed to have carded the house, this despite the fact that there was no card on either occasion and my partner staying in all day watching out for them, luckily after chasing up with the sending company they delivered once they had been paid for a next day delivery. so thanks to Wayne at Floor Heating Systems Ltd and no thanks to City Stink. Next we decided to get something from Amazon and pay for next day delivery, they had it on the van so tracking told us but didn't bother to turn up, we phoned the office but were told they couldn't reach the driver and couldn't give us details about when it would turn up. It eventually turned up later the next day luckily we were in. Bunch of timewasters!
