Hooray! Re above post - Telephoned last night and got a fully refund on my insurance for the outstanding months. The refund almost pays for my new 12 months insurance so I made the right choice!

what is the contact number for chase templeton.
I only require building insurance, is that ok with them0 -
Got the cheapest possible insurance? Great - then here is how to make some extra money.
According to a mailshot I got if LLoyds turns out more expensive than your renewal quote but you go ahead anyway they will give you:
* Twice the difference (max £100)
* £30 of M&S vouchers (£15 for buildings, £15 for contents)
* And even a Parker pen just for getting a quote
Unfortunately I have only just switched but it may be of use to others. The only note of caution is they say it is for comparible insurance so they might wrangle over the differences between your existing policy and theirs.
Anyway, if you want to give it a try go to:
https://www.insurance.co.uk/challenge or call 0800 0921003
and quote ref DH6980 -
Reaper- worth a try but when I tried it , even with all the freebies (max) could not match what I was had on renewal.
Watch out that they don't try and talk down the level of cover I wanted, suggesting the more standard £35/ £40K is over the top for an average house
Not sure how many insurers in their range

Regarding the offer on Paymentshield offer from a broker mentioned here a few times - I have been offering similiar for ages, have just updated to make sure more competitive and put link in the referrers section.
Also people can have a look at quotes before phoning!
( although this quote engine does not cover all providers- just paymentshield, and obviously in some cases one of my other provides might be better)

Just a word of warning to check your renewal terms very carefully. I received my renewal terms from the Abbey ( formally Abbey National) which indicated they were increasing the excess from £50 to a whopping £550. They would not negotiate this point, it was `take it or leave it`
I left it, followed the links on this site and saved myself a packet and got a much better package.
I decided to use the same avenue with my car insurance and the savings were amazing.
The lesson here is loyalty means `screw me over`. So do it to them first! Good Luck.0 -
Just a note to say I've just managed to find someone that will beat the Chase templeton quote (which was £75 less than my renewal)
And they offered me £10 of debenhams vouchers!
Company is The Insurance Eye on 01604 720400 (http://www.theinsuranceeye.com/house.html)
OR see the referral board if you want to help me save money on my renewal with them...(http://forum.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Referrers;action=display;num=1095338094)0 -
Thanks for the tips. My buildings and contents renewal with Liverpool Victoria was £517. Just paid £360 at e-sure thatnks to using the insurance supermarket! ;D0

I have just been told by NU my current insurer that they won't insure my new house as it has 7 bedrooms and was built in 1890 - would you believe.
Therefore I have to move to a new insurer but this won't be easy as in 2002 I had a public liability claim for £20,000.
Does anybody know of any insurance company who aren't going to turn me down flat.
We move on Friday this is dead dead urgent.
Forever in your debt!!!
