...but i dont think a lot of what has been said was fair, or even correct as the OP wasnt moaning about just getting wet!

You are absolutely right. The OP wasn't moaning about getting wet.....

....they were moaning about not being offered a "£10 voucher or nothing".

Not necessarily......our Tesco Extra only has one combined entrance/exit (although it is very wide).

If others want to put in a claim can I ... the store could have held a Miss Wet Tee-shirt competition in foyer (or a Mr Wet Jeans for the ladies) ... I am sure that over half the local pundits would have allowed this to detract them from the deluge ... works for me!!! :D

In my opinion, Tesco sucks big time anyway. I tend to avoid shopping there as I have NEVER had a what I would consider a satifying shopping experience with them. But isn't it funny that when you have a complaint to make, the Manager is on holiday, or away for a weeks training etc.

As for the wonderful moneysavers who added their helpful 'Get over it' comments, I shall look forward to reading your future moans and groans and will have a nice big 'get over it' ready with relish.
I'm back after a break :money:

Go back in with a bucket of water. Throw it over the manager and say "I do believe this is yours".

    Buckets would be better

Bit unfair MrB, the OP did ask for opinions.

It seems to me that most of the people replying perhaps thought that the OP's issue of getting wet was worth a wee moan.....but not worth getting something for. Perhaps if the main thrust of the post wasn't about 'what can I get' then people may have been more sympathetic.

  • To clarify matters, only one exit from store. I only got wet leaving the store because of the rain coming in, my car was parked under the covered overhanging bit so I didn't have to go out into the rain to get into my car.

On the way out of the store, staff members were just stood there - the floor was soaking wet (obviously) swimming with water, an accident could easily have occurred and no members of staff give a damn.

I was annoyed because the Manager said the water had come into the store due to rubbish on the roof but couldnt understand that this was a maintenance issue and that the roof should be regularly cleaned to prevent this happening. He actually said the store has been open 5 years and it doesn't appear to have been cleaned in all that time!!!

Was it not beyond the management of the store to get one or two members of staff to stand in the entrance with umbrellas so that the hydrophobics could enter and leave without getting soaked?
