Hi,
I have been reading your posts with interest, I too purchased a bedstead and a mattress from Dreams 6 days ago but I have decided (3 days ago) I wanted to cancel the mattress but still purchase the bedstead, but when I phoned the shop I was told I had to speak to the accounts department as once a sale has been put through in a shop it is automatically now the accounts dept's responsibility to deal with it. I contacted the accounts dept and they have said if I want to cancel I have to pay a £95 administration fee, does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I spent £700 in total on the bed and mattress and feel frustrated there is no cooling off period to change your mind! Any suggestions would be appreciated.0 -

Hi, when I was in last week I was told that my mattress would come with a 10 year guarantee, it was a dreams own brand mattress so if yours is the same YES! all Dreams own brand mattresses are supposed to come with a 10 year guarantee0 -
The cooling of period is 24 hours, as you had a chance to inspect the goods before ordering. Sleepmasters charge 10-20% i forgot which one, after the 24 hours for cancelling.
Only online orders are protected with 7 days from date of delivery.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

Check the small print. You will probably find that it is a warranty, and that it is only fully guaranteed for 12 months.
Also I believe that Dreams insist that you also buy the base from them to be covered.0 -
SleepMasters has refused to refund money to my elderly mother. My mother purchased a single foam bed two days ago and became very ill with the smell of it. She continuously aired the room out but the smell would not go away. The packing stated it would take between 2 to 24 hours for the smell to subside. This was not true.
I called and explained and the company was very rude and unprofessional. They basically told me, "too bad, you are stuck with the bed now. It's not defective". But it is defective because of the horrible smell making my mother ill. It has only been two days and the bed has not been used (it was for a spare bedroom). We are returning the bed to the store tomorrow even though they are refusing to refund our money. We are going to file a formal complaint with Trading Standards, Watchdog, and the Financial ombudsman - are they any other agencies we can contact in order to get my mother's money returned to her?
This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They didn't tell her about the smell of the mattress and the wrapping on the matterss was deceptive and inaccurate. Any further suggestions would be appreciated? A company should not be allowed to treat customers so disrespectfully, especially an 85 year old woman. It's shameful. Avoid this company at all costs

Don't return it until a refund has been agreed.
Contact enviromental health (about the smell) and trading standards if they are refusing to budge.0 -
i nearly bought a bed from dreams, with a new mattress (close to £700 worth) but didnt as i took my dad with me (mainly cos i couldnt find the local branch on my own), he looked at the frame underneath the mattress, and said 'thats not £700 worth of bed and frame' i bought one locally for £300 which looks better and is built more solidly than that one.
the frame at dreams is now £100, says it all i supposethings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

I'm afraid that's what you get from many of the big chain stores (and some of the big brands) these days.0
