Dreams bed Superstore??? Complaints?

Hi Tim,
thanks for the help
Thinking about it, its probably my fault for not checking around before I bought the bed, I'm usually the bore who doesn't let anyone buy anything without checking every available site for the best price/reviews but was so desperate for a new bed I just went and bought without comparing.
I also thought the deal was buy now pay nothing for 12 months, I always intended to pay in one hit but had to save the money, so still think its a bit rubbish paying £29 when I don't even want their credit oh well you live and learn, even more gutted to read that I am one of the complete mugs who bought their 10 year guarantee :doh:0 -
In January 2010 unfortunately foe me entered the Dreams shop in Preston.Deceided to buy 2 beds. 1 a double for my daughter and a King size for ourselves which we believed at the time would go up the stairs.Anyway, once the bed had been delivered and built it creeked as though old and tired and also the memory foam mattress did what it said, memorised our shape ie didnt spring back, so we had to climb in and out of dips in the mattress each night so rang the customer services dept which kept us waiting forever. They sent out an engineer who said it your partner must be heavier than myself which made me laugh(not) he then proceeded to find the creeking and said he couldnt see any problem. He had 1 last bounce on the bed and the base ripped, exposing a cardboard top.He said he would arrange to have it repaired and i said i want a new bed but better still i would take a refund.Told me that a replacement would be delivered in 10-14 days during which time we had to sleep on this damaged bed.As i had no hone call to arrange delivery on the 14th day i was then told it would be a month, i told them in no uncertain terms what i thought about that and insisted on a full refund.I was told refunds are not given for delivered goods. After 4 weeks and after going into the stores at least a dozen times i was told to choose another bed but i insisted on the refund but no way was i going to receive it.£849 for a bed which we couldnt get a decent nights sleep on.We chose a 2nd bed and was offered £100 in compensation. The bed was delivered after a month, and was rammed up the stairs damaging a window sill and coat hooks along the way which was only noticed after the delivery men had gone.We went to put the bed together and alas no brackets to hold it together, 1 castor missing and 1 broken.I had to lift a bed in the shop and rob a display bed of the required parts.Having slept on this 2nd bed it feels like you are being pulled into the middle of the bed and have had yet another engineer out who states it was damaged in transit or on delivery.I have complained to dreams over and over but they say i have signed a disclaimer and they will do nothing.Check the delivery sheet as this is a disclaimer which says you will accept any damage they cause to your expensive, overpriced bed.I am currently in the process of collating information before taking this matter further.AVOID DREAMS OR YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY SORRY!!!!! A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT HOPEFULLY HAVE A LONG FUTURE AHEAD OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!0

I'm sure those legal eagles out there will correct me if I'm wrong. However, from what I understand if the bed is faulty within the first 6 months, then it is deemed to have been faulty when manufactured. And that you are entitled to a refund.0 -
We have bee trying to get a refund for return goods from Dreams in Ruislip Manor for 10 weeks and have been back to the store on 5 seperate occasions, each time being told that the money would refunded within days. Their customer services is utterly shambolic. I am on my way there now and will refuse to leave until I get my money back.
Dreams is seriously one company you want to avoid because if anything goes wrong with your purchase they have no interst in putting things right - We have not even received an apology. Unbelievable!0 -
The beds you sample in the showrooms are nothing like the beds you receive after you make your purchase. We have discovered this at great cost. The Dreams routine goes like this, you ring "Customer Service" file your complaint, 2 weeks later you receive a letter to say if there's no fault found with the mattress then Dreams will not take this matter any further. The next thing they send an inspector. Four weeks later they come back with their little Gem, The Comfort Exchange Policy which actually cost you more money, as if you'd have the confidence for any further dealings with them. I strongly advise anybody who is in the process of any dealings with this company to take my advice and cancel it right now.0

Hi, does anyone have the name of the managing director of Dreams, and the company's registered address?
I bought a bed from them as their website had a promotion which offered a £200.00 voucher redeemable 8-10 days after purchase. As the bed was less than that I thought it must be wrong offering so much so I drove to their nearest store and checked with the manageress. She brought the offer up and said that it was a genuine promotion and I would receive the voucher. I asked if it was an internet only promotion and she checked the promotion terms and conditions and said no it didn't say there were any such restrictions. I had her recheck all of it again, she said the only condition was we had to have the item delivered.
Of course no voucher has appeared and after about 20 phone calls and several emails, customer (dis)service say it was an internet only promo!
I am taking it to Trading standards but could do with Managing Director's name.
Wish I'd read this forum first.
Thanks

Thank you Mike,
what has happened? You set up a decent, honest business, and from what I can see, the managment seem ok, but the firms customer service now is not good. Anyway, thank you for the information

That wasn't Mike, it was me.
He may have set up a decent honest business, but it certainly isn't now. They have fake sales, and fake price promises, whith items being renamed so that they can quote sky high RRP's. And even their so called sale prices are often double what you should be paying.0 -
But they also have the overheads of stores, so you'd expect their prices to be higher. Personally I'd never buy a bed without seeing it first.0
