I started my Christmas lists a couple of weeks ago - pressies, cards, shopping/menus, etc., but only really got stuck in this weekend.
I make all my own cards, all year, & end up making loads at Christmas, but it's economical & therapeutic. Last year I bought some cheap 'Kraft' wrap (like brown parcel paper) & decorated it. Some I cut into sheets & stamped xmas designs on, some I wrapped presents with, then stamped person's name on top - sounds a bit naff, but it looked quite good! It worked out very cheap, so I'll do it again this year.
I often make edible presents - gingerbread or other biscuits, chocolates etc - that go down really well with very busy people who haven't had time to bake themselves.
Like someone else on this thread, I do 'goody boxes' filled with all sorts of nice things & wrapped up really fancy. Florists will sell their flower cellophane really cheap, so you can wrap your basket or whatever & tie with ribbon - always looks really classy (i.e. expensive!).
How about financially free presents? I have done vouchers/certificates on the computer to offer free babysitting/cleaning/shopping/cooking to suit the recipient, set a certain number of hours/occasions, print out on some really nice card & put in a nice envelope tied with red/gold ribbon. If you add some homemade biccies/mince pies, they've still got an object to unwrap, & overall it's cost you next to nothing in money.
I also love the flavoured vodkas - I think some of my people will be getting some!

Reading this thread made me feel really guilty that I hadn't been organised enough to take advantage of the sales earlier in the year to stock up on prezzies. However, I've just spotted a new book (published Sept 05) that would be an ideal present for Dad - and it's reduced by 60% on BOL!!! All I need is a couple more bright ideas like that and I'm sorted..........0

Sorry to be dim , but what is BOL?"This site is addictive!"

BOL = Books On Line (https://www.bol.com) I've just discovered it, there are some real bargains if you look in the '60% off' section.0

Just discovered this 'green' Christmas webpage. Thought some of you might like a look:

For books I used to find https://www.redhouse.co.uk very good for childrens books, they normally do lots of special offers and multibuys.0 -
May I bore people with how pleased I am with myself?
I popped into Tesco last night, and idly browsed the Christmas aisle that's popped up. Bargains galore!
So I bought 50 cards (nice ones) for just £1.24, three boxes of truffles at 99p each, a zebra CD case for £3, silver plated piccy frame also £3, and online I had already got CDs and books at about £4 each.
Added to the contents of my gift cupboard collected over the year, I realise I now have only three whole presents and extras for another three presents to get and I am done!!
OK, I don;t have to buy food cos I go to my mum's, but I am very pleased with myself.
The girl on Tesco's checkout said they will put the prices of the truffles up nearer December, so worth getting in there now. They are nice, decent size box and don;t say Tesco all over them and bulk up a pressie very nicely. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
