Maybe someones already mentioned this a gift idea (hey, I havent got round to reading all 199 posts yet!)
This year am making presents using glass painting.
Have bulk bought those really old style hinged glass bell jars which are meant for preserves and am painting them with glass paints - it means I can customise each one for the particular person and have now become obsessed with thinking of things to put in them! Plus the bonus is they get to keep the jar when the goodies inside have all gone!
Also, I started practising the glass painting on empty wine bottles and then realised I can recycle those too, as presents: eg. candle holders.
Now have gone a bit mad and started painting all the empty glass bottles I have - a few really cool shaped ones am going to make toffee vodka to put in and give to friends!
nb. Am pretty lame at the glass painting at the moment, but I have nearly four months to practice
plus I find the painting really relaxing - although possibly thats the paint fumes  :rotfl:I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000

I bought my son some Usborne flash cards to help him learn to read - they were on offer in Wilkinsons at 99p - nice shiny, quality ones. He was 6 weeks old at the time!! Even better when he was old enough for them - I hadn't managed to misplace them as I usually do.0 -
Just done a stock take on the present store & created my usual spreadsheet so that I can keep track of costs etc:o. So far I have spent £101.57 with a further £130-150- planned, mostly vouchers & charitable gifts, plus some more on gifts which I haven't yet planned as my parents haven't got a clue what they want:rolleyes: Should come in under £300 total which is all we spent last year but we have Spud to include this year:D Have decided to acquiese to M-i-L & S-i-L's wishes & buy them vouchers, the gifts I have already got for them will work for birthdays, but they will only get the value in vouchers that we would usually spend on their gifts so they could be in for a bit of a shock when they see how much we usually don't spend:eek::rotfl:
Does anyone know where I can get some animals & a Noah to go in my sons ark (50p from a car boot sale)? I don't want tacky plastic ones which is all the early learning centre have, don't mind paying a bit more for nice wooden ones or something?Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Yes I had Jive Bunny Xmas Mix on this afternoon - I just wasn't in the mood for my usual pop selection, or 80s, or Classical, the radio wasn't much better (On-line radio is a nightmare on our dial-up so thats not usually an option unless I only use the computer as a radio! ) so I spent this afternoon on Turbolister and sorting out my piles of ebay stuff while singing along to Xmas songs :rotfl: I'll be starting my major clean up & decorating (as in walls and ceilings, not tinsel and trees) projects for Xmas tomorrow - my first project is to start listing stuff on ebay so I can have some room to move in this houseCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Lillibet, have you tried your local oxfam shop for the wooden animals? they have a lovely range of hand made wooden toys in ours, and they arent too expensive (plus you would be doing a bit for charity!)
