And Ciaradreams very impressive debt recovery or whatever its called. Haven't you done well Congratulations

I have only ever managed to do this because I have had an awful lot of help and support along the way not least from fellow posters on DFW. If I had been left to my own devices then I would just have hidden from it and pretended that it was not really happening to me until it was too late and goodness knows what kind of mess I would be in by now. I am very proud of where I am at now but in truth it is really not only my achievement because I would never have made it here without a lot of help from my friends. :D

When I was checking the Nomination thread earlier, I found Blue Monkey thanking mot for the help she is finding time to give to others!
Of course, she gives not a hint of this here -

Ampersand, I am not quite sure what I have done to receive a comment like this. It is quite hurtful, but thank you.

I tried to help on the last thread in the only way I knew how (as many others had done and have done since) with the experiences I had had, and got 2 rather curt replys telling me to sort my own housing problems out first and to go back and read the last 2600 posts of the thread before commenting further. So I did what you had asked and as I did not have the time to go back and read them all yet I did not comment further.

You are doing wonderful things for Julia but I cannot understand why you are saying things like this about me, Julia has not publicly declared here that she has sent me a PM so there was no need to mention it as it was no-ones concern except ours, was there? I don't see anyone elses nominations being dragged onto the forum and into question so I cannot understand why you have done this to mine.

As has been said before, Julia is not doing this for personal attention, but she is a wonderful person and I will thank her in my own way and I do not need to publicly declare this here, do I?

So now I am doing as you told me to do, and I am now lurking to see how Julia is doing, day to day. I did not realise there was a requirement to declare my presence on this thread every time I checked in to see what had happened. Julia needs help, I have no more to give other than I have already, so I did not post further. But Julia is choosing to email me personally and for that I wanted to thank her with the nomination and also by speaking with pania too. I wanted to say thanks in my own way not have it dragged onto this forum in some needless manner. Why did you choose to do this?

So now I'll continue to lurk and continue to read the posts when I get time to sit down and catch up to see how Julia is doing day to day because I don't want to bother her with my stuff when she has her own stuff to deal with, I feel bad for doing that and taking her time. However, she chooses to email me even when she has all this on her plate and that was MY way of saying thank you and it was nothing to do with this thread, I should not have to declare this publicly or have you make out I was some ungrateful cow for not mentioning it here. The PM's are just that, Private Messages, and are not intended for this thread so this is why there was no mention on this thread about it and nor there need to be.

Please continue to do the wonderful work you have been doing for Julia because it is just that and your support has been something more than I could ever give. But, please do not drag me into this forum as I have given all the input I have right now, my support is going via Private Message because I am in contact with Julia that way and I will say 'thank you' in MY way and in my time, not in a way I am told I should be doing it on the public forum. Your comments are quite hurtful when I have done nothing to deserve it.

    Hi Blue Monkey,
I think, (although I might be wrong), that ampersands was referring to MOT offering you support, and the fact that although she has her own worries MOT is able to advise others too. Sorry if I'm wrong but I think this is what it was saying.
You have been very supportive of MOT and the fact that you nominated her for Post of the Month shows this.
I don't think for one min ampersands was doubting this, sorry again if I'm speaking out of turn.

    Dear blue monkey,
This is completely back to front!
I was praising you AND Julia, again.
It is thanks to your Nomination comments that I realised Julia is still finding time to help others, but is too modest to mention it.
    Fortunately, you have done so!
Goodness me - I'd not dream of writing or thinking anything you have taken so amiss.
I honestly am lost with your interpretation of my compliments.

  • Forgive me for possibly speaking out of turn here, but I actually read that post from Ampersand as MOT doesnt say on here about the help SHE (MOT) gives others, not you BlueMonkey.

I would like to thank the (generally) courteous responses I have received to my post. I did intend to comment further and expand a bit more but this post:

    [QUOTE=oops a daisy;8068675
Earwig - I would also like to say that for me this thread is not about having a go at why MOT is homeless - it is about making sure that a mother and her children are not on the streets as of next Monday. That is the reason so many people are and have helped. It is not about you and how long you have had to wait it is about MOT and her situation - it is not about you. Some people always have to make everything about themselves but sometimes it isnt, it is about somebody who needs help. I would liken your arguement to those who run up debts and then can not pay - they come here for help and not judgement. Should they be refused any help because it is their own fault. I will answer that myself - NO they deserve to be treat as human beings who need help. If you are sick of being on the waiting list then that is your problem and nothing whatsoever to do with MOT. I hope you do manage to get yourself and your family accomodation and I wish you all the best in your search.

    xoopsx[/QUOTE]

I thought this post was unduly harsh and it has made it quite clear to me that unless one is prepared to wholeheartedly join the MOT campaign and let not one utterance that does not support the party line, then one is not welcome and there will be no debate.

I did read the eviction thread and my opinions still stand. I am also quite clear in what was said about a certain Housing Officer. I am not prepared to spend my valuable free time searching through thousands of posts to prove my point. However, as this thread is clearly dedicated to MOT and her ongoing struggle with the evil council and the need to find accomodation, I will bow out gracefully.

Should anyone wish to discuss the interesting points that MOT's case has raised, I will be posting a thread in DT - where discussion is allowed.

OMG, OK, I read it as......... I had not posted my thanks on this thread to say that Julia had helped me...... but I did not because it was nothing to do with this thread. I thought you was ahving a go at me. OMG. What a fool I am. I have PMT so please just ignore me as I am being to oversensetive today and have made a complete fool of myself.

I will go hide my head in shame. I am so very sorry, I think everyone is doing a wonderful job and so nice to see in this day and age (and we don't even get this support from our families so I do understand how important all of this is - especially from stangers). Yah, I can't even go delete it as you quoted me. I shall wear it with my red face - all of them.
