  • Pania, take no notice of any negative PM's.... what u and everyone else is doing to help, in effect, a 'stranger' - altho I know she's not to many of you! - is highly commendable.....

And to whoever wrote it, don't hide behind a PM, have the balls to stand up and say what u have to say in public!

"Can't understand that. They have to provide an appropriate response within 17 days. Christmas Post?"

Is this true? MPs are supposed to respond to any constituent communication in 17 days? Mine (HELLO JON TRICKETT MP) has repeatedly ignored letters, I mean not even a photocopied acknowledgment slip, never mind a human being responding.

Not sure if it is true, but even if it is it would only apply to a constituent. If you don't live in the constituency the MP has no obligation to you.

For that reason I think the Nash Hall coffee morning may run into problems, an MP will only see his own constituents not supporters from far and wide. I do worry that any mass gathering at a constituency surgery could be construed as preventing other constituents accessing their MP.

    Hi all

Have just got back home from spending the day with MOT - Julia to her online friends. She is indeed as she comes across on MSE - wonderful, caring and is quite humbled by the offers of help via Pania.

Also she does make a good cup of tea !

Upshot of today - is many phonecalls - alas most of them with letting agents that don't accept housing benefit, some are calling back.. An appointment has been made to see a 3 bedroom flat tomorrow - good luck on that one. Julia has also been speaking the local paper and radio re her updates and outcome of the appeal. Mention will be made re any local landlords who would accept housing benefit as part rent. Lets hope that works.

In the meantime MOT, enjoy the wine, hope the twins enjoy the chocolate.

Goodness me! What a commotion I have caused - I am so very sorry:confused: .

Pania - I am truly grateful for your hard work in helping us, and I most humbly grateful to those who are helping us out in whatever way. Maybe those who have made negative comments to Pania should be careful about such remarks as one day they too could be in the same situation as me, or some situation equally awful, and will be only too grateful to receive the help and support we are receiving.

Angel11, it was lovely to meet you and great to have you as company and help in the phone calls we made.

I have also had a long conversation with Dan Freedman who will be doing a stint on the radio (tomorrow I believe with a follow up on Thursday) - what a fantastic guy he is very thorough and has a lot of contacts! BBC 3 Counties radio calling me at 6.45pm to do a stint on their show at 7pmish.

Now before anyone gets the wrong idea - I am now doing all this not just to see if anything can be changed if and when we go to appeal at County Court, but to try and help everyone out there who has/is struggling with depression and financial worries - after all come April the law on HB is changing and it will be paid to the tenant for them to pay their LL, so we could well be seeing a lot more cases like mine coming to a head:confused:

Also have had a phone call from the HA whose flat I am currently in for me to go and see them tomorrow so that they can discuss some housing options with me - fingers crossed and watch this space;)
