MOT,
Words fail me as to the decision.
I my self was previously classed intentionaly homeless previously and was forced into privately rented accomodation my councill payed my deposit but not any rent up front.
when you find a property you are interested in you can fill in a pre tenancy determination this goes to the rent service mentioned in a previous post. who will then come back to you and tell you if the agree it is a fair rent and how much they would consider you could claim against.
IE: If they determin the rent £50 pm more than "fair" this portion would not be claimable and you would be responsible for this portion.
Does your local paper advertise property let by private landlords? This is a usualy safer bet as they do not allways require credit checking etc as with the letting agencys who have numerous charges for credit checking etc before you can be considered for the property. and they are not refundable if you are not succesfull.
Another idea that i tried print or write little post cards saying propety wanted etc and pin on any avalible notice in local shops/newsagents etc.
Do you have a local builders merchant they may know of builders that let property etc
have also seen people post messages wanting property on places like freecycle - (i know its not for this but when we are despaerate any thing is worth a try)
hope that some of this is of some use to you

Forgot to mention MOT, I was telling my children this morning about you and your twins, and your awful situation. This was their respones
My 11 year old said he would do a charity run for you.
My 9 year old stepson said he would sell some of his toys.
and finally my 9 year old son carried on munching his toast and aksed if I had put one of those nice yoghurts in his lunch!!! Think I'm perhaps not reading the right instuction book for him.
Hope today is going well for you, keep us posted

Hi MOT
I know this won't make anything magically better (how I wish we all could) but I suddenly remembered something someone once said to my Mum (God bless her) - that if all the troubles in all the world were put in a pile and you were allowed to choose, you would still pick your own, because you are never given a burden too big to carry. You just have to carry yours for a little longer and with the good wishes and good deeds from the others on here, you will get through this and come out the other side - stronger and better for the experience, but still the same loving, caring, protective Mum that we've all grown to know through your posts. Big hugs to you all.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Have just spoken with Mr Loach's agent - a super lady - and am emailing all now.
She will go through everything with him when he returns next week and we'll await any response then.
His own projects see him booked through the next 2/3 years, as anticipated, but I suggested he may have a keen, empathetic graduate/proteg! to recommend.
Guardian 'phoned, emailed; they have acknowledged.
Ditto young Dan Freedman, who is meeting a colleague from other Nationals tomorrow night. He thinks even the 'online community support' aspect is a worthy story in itself.
mot- DF will call you later.
Hope everyone's staying warm and indoors today.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

MOT's is an individual case that people have responded to, I'm sure she is not the first and will certainly not be the last to receive support from strangers, I just hope this thread and the others DO find media attention at some point as this should shame those in power to making changes (perhaps starting with their own salaries!!!
When I was checking the Nomination thread earlier, I found Blue Monkey thanking mot for the help she is finding time to give to others!
Of course, she gives not a hint of this here -CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Excellent news on the media front, if it does become a film eventually I think Demi Moore should play me, what about you MOT?

I thought of this song whilst lying in bed last night, and how it particularly fits this thread and this scenario. I really hope that when you read the words you will see what i mean, and instantly recognise the song. These words could've been written for you MOT and the way you are.
I received a very negative PM earlier re what we are attempting to do and it very nearly made me post to say I can't do the PM's anymore, but reading through the thread, and the words of this song have pepped me up to carry on. If MOT can take the continual knocks i can put up with one.
Enjoy......
The higher you build your barriers
The taller I become
The farther you take my rights away
The faster I will run
You can deny me
You can decide to turn your face away
No matter, cos there's....
Something inside so strong
I know that I can make it
Tho' you're doing me wrong, so wrong
You thought that my pride was gone
Oh no, something inside so strong
The more you refuse to hear my voice
The louder I will sing
You hide behind walls of Jericho
Your lies will come tumbling
Deny my place in time
You squander wealth that's mine
My light will shine so brightly
It will blind you
Cos there's......
Something inside so strong
I know that I can make it
Tho' you're doing me wrong, so wrong
You thought that my pride was gone
Oh no, something inside so strong
Brothers and sisters
When they insist we're just not good enough
When we know better
Just look 'em in the eyes and say
I'm gonna do it anyway
I'm gonna do it anywaydebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
