So like a good girl Ive emailed him my full postal address andphone number, I have a suspicion that I wont hear anything else:rolleyes:  but we can live in hope. I suppose they have to check his email and the person who wrote it.

:hello: Hi MOT - hope you manage to find somewhere today.

Earwig - I would also like to say that for me this thread is not about having a go at why MOT is homeless - it is about making sure that a mother and her children are not on the streets as of next Monday. That is the reason so many people are and have helped. It is not about you and how long you have had to wait it is about MOT and her situation - it is not about you. Some people always have to make everything about themselves but sometimes it isnt, it is about somebody who needs help. I would liken your arguement to those who run up debts and then can not pay - they come here for help and not judgement. Should they be refused any help because it is their own fault. I will answer that myself - NO they deserve to be treat as human beings who need help. If you are sick of being on the waiting list then that is your problem and nothing whatsoever to do with MOT. I hope you do manage to get yourself and your family accomodation and I wish you all the best in your search.

    xoopsx
for someone who dosnt like people beeing judgemental you certainly was judgementel of me

i never said it was about ME i talked a bit about my situation mainly to show that i wasnt being a case of im ok jack most of my post was to say that the way homeless is delt is wrong and how its needs to be changed so everyone gets housing (inculding mot) and why the councill took such a strong stand on it i didnt say i wanted it to be about me and havent treid to make it about me i am not getting quee jumped as i am no where near top of the list and wont get to the top of the list ethier it wasnt MY situation i was talking about in fact it was somthing i read in my local paper that famleys are haveing to wait two to three years before they are housed properly and what someone else mentioned in an earlier post

im getting really feed up with the fact if somthing is said sliglty negative about mot situation then you get this kinda of response
WHAT WAS THE POINT OF YOUR POST other than to try and pick fault with my post where was i having ago about mot situation i have treid to help mot on her first thread i have the details on how to help on this thread so why are you having ago at me what i have said what was so wrong is this thread strictly for saying poor you mot here some money and nothing else are we not allowed to talk about anything else is that how mot wants this thread to be run

mot i am not saying you didnt pay your rent just to get out of renting privatly what happened to the money is not important now and nothing to do with any of us you did what you had to do you know that i have treid to help you with the hb by repeatly telling you to make sure they where paying the right amount in the first place the post i made earlier was not a personal attack on you i know how hard metal illness is( as you know) and how people often dont give it the respest it needs i did say that i didnt think you were one of the people who abuse the system it was just a respose to an earlier post have you tried getting in touch with MIND they may be able to help you find some acomindation
i cant slow down i wont be waiting for you i cant stop now because im dancing

hi i think the point vict was trying to make is that the reason she was not granted homless was because she didnt pay her rent and didnt pay her hb on to her landlord the councill was never going to re house mot as homeless after that and nor should they this homeless clause seems to be robbing people of afordable housing as most abuse the system (not saying you are mot) but when you are top of the list and have been waiting over two years while beening top of the list seeing the homeless people repeatedly jump in front of you can be frustrating espeacialy when they seem to of been evited from mum and dads or not born in this country i dont get it that i cant get housed by my councill but someone from poland can im not raceist i just dont get it how do they get all the ponits you need to get a councill house these days

the point im trying to make is if the councills changed the way people got housed under the homeless act less poeple would try and do it for example
you join the list the only people who can quee jump are the medical a so if you are homeless the councill house you in tempary accomidition like bedsits flats ect then you take your place in the quee you dont jump in front of anyone and we all get housed at somepoint fairly then poeple like mot wouldnt have to go through all the stress she has as she would be on the list and would be housed im sure mot wouldnt mind staying where she is untill her turn come up on the list instead of the way its done now that she got to be out and they wont help and even if mot dose put her name back on the list the homeless will just jump in front all the time

so back to the rent thing the councill know that the homeless clause is beeing abused and there is not alot they can do about but they can say you made your self homeless by not paying the rent espically when you are getting hb so if you was at the top of the list and a house came up and you had been waiting two years or more then find out that you didnt get the house as someone who was made homeless got it you would be a bit peeved but then you find out that the reason the person was homless as they didnt pay there rent even though they had hosing benefit you would be outraged and rightly so to the councill know this would send out the wrong message the councill would be saying dont pay your rent mortage get evivted and we will house you of course the councill dont want that so they have to have the if dont pay your rent line to proctect it self from meltdown

mot knows why she didnt pay her rent i dont and i know what a struggle it is i to live in rented accomindation never knowing how long we will be living here for not having the choice of what color carpet i would like having to ask permison to put a picture up and paying 600 per month for the same house my neighbour rent of our councill for 86 per week its soul destroying to know that i will not be housed by my councill how ever long i have been on the list 5 years now unless my landlord is going to evict me so mot i feel for you i do but this was one battle you was never going to win unless the hb have made a mistake and didnt pay you enough hb in the first place ithink the best thing you can do now is with the suport you have here is to find a private rental again and just wait with the rest of us that someday we will get a home to live in instead of some doogy decor overprice hole we have to live in now

    Hello earwig,
We can all see and appreciate the effort you've put into your posts here.
So many of mot's supporters have their own experiences - not unlike yours, not unlike hers.
We are all together on this - and that includes you, too.
Sometimes, especially when the weather's foul and everything seems so dark and hopeless, we all just have to be here, hanging on.
Let's all be, on this thread, what DBC have NOT been, even when holding disparate views.
Strength to you and yours - kind wishes.

Well i'm going to take this on a whole new slant :D
Oh yes, and goodafternoon MOT - hope you're keeping well.

I have noticed a few times on this thread (and others around the board), that people are losing their posts. I lost mine once (a whole sentence it was too) and have since adopted using shortcuts to cover that.

    After typing the post
CTRL + A (selects all the text in the message box)
CTRL + C (copies the selected text)
then post you reply. If you lose it, page back and
CTRL + V (pastes the text you have just copied)

Needless to say that since i have started doing that i haven't lost any more posts, but hopefully a few keystrokes will save someone retyping a huge reply or some information being lost.

  • Just wondering even though i have no knowledge on the subject but surely there must be loads of charities in the uk who would be able to help fund her to pay for her accommodation and bills due to her unfortunate situation. What about children in need . Someone on mse must have an idea perhaps if mot has or had a job with a skill that there might be an association which has funding available to help her presently. best wishes

Thank you ampersand for being objective, this issue is always going to raise different opinions some we will agree with others we won't, but that's life.

I feel for anyone in MOT's situation, and pray that as I am one of the many thousands in private rented accom, that it will never be me and my children.

In an ideal world we would love for everyone to never be in debt, suffer hardship etc, but unfortunately life happens and sometimes we are dealt the cards we are given (to quote my late gran).

MOT's is an individual case that people have responded to, I'm sure she is not the first and will certainly not be the last to receive support from strangers, I just hope this thread and the others DO find media attention at some point as this should shame those in power to making changes (perhaps starting with their own salaries!!!
