    Hi MOT

I'm really pleased to hear the move went well (big thank you everyone for helping MOT to date- and I am pleased to see we are all still hanging in here as MOT has a way to go yet!!)

You've been through a very traumatic time - you must be totally physically and emotionally exhausted....and you still have to find somewhere to live permanently (and I'll be up to help you move in and decorate!) ......and don;t worry about the falling asleep thing - that's perfectly normal after everything you've been through to date.

I'm also really thrilled to hear that you're feeling more secure and that you're making plans for the future....but I do hope you won;t push yourself too hard too fast.

Having spent the last three months in the black pit myself, I am starting to realise that it will take perhaps a little longer than I had expected to get all my plans back on track now that things are starting to move forwards. I make lots of lists and then get stressed because I haven't managed to tick off everything on my list and feel I've let myself down and that affects my positive mood. Some days are better than others for productivity. (And I'm also sleeping a lot!!)

So I have found it very helpful to put together a weekly/monthly plan, that includes all my chores (eg cleaning, washing, ironing, meals etc), things I have to do (eg work, medication, counselling, gym, paying bills/finances) and also include sections for both my future plans/requirements (e.g. projects such as the flood inventory, deciding on the decor for the house restoration, setting up the new business as my employment contract ends in March) and also quality time for me (time spent cuddling the guinea pigs, allocating one night a week out locally with friends, one weekend a month staying away with far-away friends, time each week to play the piano, time for pampering such as hair or doing something that makes me feel good).

I was quite shocked when I realised how much I HAD to do and how important it was that I prioritised everything in order of importance and still allowed for some quality/projects time each week (there wasn't much!!). This planning has worked well for me and I now realise that I can't do everything about my future plans in one week or even one month. So now I am learning to be more patient with myself and take things one step at at time. I just swap around the "blocks of time" if i can't keep to doing something on a particular day and have accepted that things will take a little longer than i had originally hoped to get myself back on track.

So please carry on posting, please let us know how you're getting on, please don;t be too hard on yourself if things take a little longer than you;d hoped...and please continue to let us know when and how you might need our help and support.

It's really great to hear you sounding much more positive and looking forward to the future - remember we're all still here and walking "virtually" with you and the Twins every step of the way.

    Much love

  • Evening all, and MOT!

Just stopping by to say hi, I finally re-read the whole saga (and my gosh it has been), and just wanted to say, MOT, IT, Amps, and all the others, you all ROCK!

Count me in if I'm back at home and you need a hand with the painting, and as for the illness, you take as long as you need to relax and recuperate!

    Hi Julia,

Just stopping by to say hi, I keep on watching the thread to see if you have managed to find anywhere yet - this one is SA sounds perfect for you though so I have everything crossed - that one in Hemel sound awful, lucky escape if yo ask me!!

It is time to move onto a new phase in your life and you might find that when you don't have the council and that awful LL to be dealing with then that will help you more than anything on the road to recovery - one step at a time though, going back to work before you are ready might set you 2 steps back so just take your time and make sure you see your doc before making that step.

You have to remember that out of this you have become stronger as a family unit, you & IT are now very good friends and you have made a whole new load of friends on here - plus it looks like you have found somewhere much better to live with a Landlord who is totally understanding of your whole situation. Time to move onto a new and better phase in your life. Good luck, I'll still be watching and I am so excited for you. :)

    Love for now

Thanks Wol2, sometimes I feel as if the world is so lighter around me then I go to HH to take twins to and from school and it is as if a big black cloud descends on me. You are quite right in that I need to take one day at a time, its now 8.25pm and I'm heading off for bed in a minute as so tired and yet wasn't up late or particularly early this morning.

It was taken out of my hands really Teeni, the council wouldn't extend my temp accom anymore and if they had I would have to pay £106 per month towards my legal aid which I couldn't afford so there was no point in the solicitor going to court for an emergency extension for the accom, and now that I have moved out I am classed as having a 'roof over my head' and therefore wouldn't get full legal aid - so it was a bit of a no win situation. Whilst all was happening on Friday I broke down and just said to solicitor that I couldn't take this anymore.
