Hi everyone.
i have put this elsewhere but thought i would try here too. i see it as as good a place as any as its to do with HSBC, so here goes
I have received a letter from HSBC 'pet' solicitor stating that my claim has been settled outside of court and that the funds have been paid directly to me.
It then asks me to notify the court that the claim has been settled and to close the dispute.
however, no monies have been paid to me either directly or via the court or my account. Neither do HSBC know anything about said settlement.
There have been several of these letter received by fellow HSBC claimants and none of them have had any money returned to them. The solicitors themselves do not answer their 'phone and just play a recorded message.
Is there anyone on here who can shed any light on this matter as, if these letters are spurious then, someone is going to sign away their claim unwittingly.
are they allowed to send these letters and then blame it on a 'clerical error'?0 -
there are so many different departments and address I can find on my letter and on their website,I really don't know where to go. I am trying to reclaim my current account overdrawn charges. any advice?0

very strange happenings.
Since things were put on hold with the banks I lost all my paperwork including my login details to moneyclaim.
As this isnt retrievable, they have kindly forwarded me copies of my cases against HSBC. As far as I can see one which was settled and two which are open.
Now, a few days ago I receive two letters from HSBC which say they are settling those two open cases and payment has been made to my account.
No such payments have arrived.
One of a couple things I can think of can have happened.
1 - HSBC are saying they've paid and havent.
2 - These are old letters from when I've requested details of my cases from moneyclaim.
I have just emailed moneyclaim asking if these are definately open cases to try to establish whats happening.
Any one have similar experiences? HSBC has paid me on other cases.I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.0 -

I sent the first letter to HSBC to reclaim my bank charges (local branch) over 2 months ago. I got a letter back saying that they do not agree but they will put it on hold till the court case has finished. Since then i havent heard anything back.
What should or can i do ?
Also i have 2 accounts with HSBC , 1 which was in debt by £800 and the over in credit by £900. I went to check my accounts and they have transfered the difference so that they are both in credit. Now i normally wouldnt mind but i need to pay someone £400 which i was going to withdraw today !! I tried to speak to them but they wernt interested. Also im unemployed at the moment.
Please can anyone give me advice for both questions.
Thank you0 -
I know this question has probably been asked many times, but there are a few things worrying me before I try to reclaim. Basically, last year I started an apprenticeship and therefore only earnt trainee pay. Due to this, I relied highly on my overdraught.
During this time, I have gone over my overdraught limit numerous times and have been doing deeper and deeper into it, making me even more prone to exceeding the limit.
I'm currently still close to the limit, but obviously want to reclaim the hundreds of pounds i've been charged for going over it. How safe is it to claim? What risks are involved with regards to bank closing my account?
Sorry if I have been vague, but this is all pretty new to me, so i'm not really too sure if it's worth the risk now, or if I should just wait till I am employed permanently with my current employer and claim once I can afford to pay off my overdraught anyway.0
