Hello Everybody, :hello:
I am new to this site so please bear with me.
ok, I am in the process of reclaiming my c/c charges and bank charges:D , sent the leters off and got the usual blow off lettes in reply  but I came across something else that has confused me.
Back in 2006 I fell into serious financial diffiulty  and so organised a Fixed Payment arrangement with the bank:T . It is my understanding that after a period of 2-3 months 'probation' all fees and charges (inc. Interest) are frozen!:T However this was not the case:mad: . Despite my payments being made I was still accruing interest which was almost equal to my payments:think: . Surely this cant be correct. Anyone able to clairify this  and can I get a refund for these extra charges?:D
Thanks in advance,
Cian0 -

I'm about to send my letter claiming years worth of charges. With all the stuff going on can you make a without prejudice offer in your actual claim letter or would you send 2 separate letters?
Also for charges that total 690.92 and I am also trying to claim the interest which takes it to 939.35 - what do you think is a realistic settlement offer? Is my amount not high enough for them to consider commercial settlement?

I claimed from hsbc. Put first letter in for full amount and they said no refund, then i sent 2nd letter and they offered me a goodwill payment. Phoned them to tell them i wasn't accepting the amount they offered but would accept the full amount of charges without the interest and cheque was in the post.
I found that claiming the interest in the first instance gave me a bargaining tool later on - but its your choice.

You can do whatever you want but you must realise that if you say offer them a without prejudice then in the case of them settling on that. If you discover later on that the amount was less than what you could claim you could not reopen negotiations or even start a new claim up .!!!!!ONLY COPY WHAT I AM DOING IF YOU ARE 100% SURE AND YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE END RESULT MAY BE.
