Best of luck for your interview jw! Let us know when you get the job and we can all celebrate!

Well, I've got a few jobs to do today. We're going on holiday at the weekend - self catering in the Lake District with some friends, so OH is in charge of making chilli con carne. He likes to brew it, so is making it tonight! So, my task is to go and get all the ingredients. As a little aside, I've just tried some Netto chopped tomatoes (17p per tin) and some Tesco Value chopped tomatoes (17p per tin). Verdict? Tesco was full of watery tomatoes, Netto was full of tomatoey tomatoes!

I'll also be making a banana cake for our hol too. Mmmmmm.

    Other jobs for the day:
ironing (grrrrrrrrrrr)   :D
    clean kitchen
    dust whole house
    vacuum whole house
    sort out mum's birthday present

Supper tonight is a curry - we got some lovely curry sauces from this show that we went to at the weekend, so we've got to start to use them. :p Especially as it's not nice weather at the moment!

    Morning Jo.

Was almost tempted to start the thread but then lost myself in my huge cup of coffee trying to wake myself up before i caught the bus.

Today im trying to have a saintly day as i had a boots salad meal deal for lunch and a baked camembert for tea. Made some HM ciabatta lastnight and it was delicious! saved half for tea tonight.

Got lots of job hunting to do today and fill in a mammoth of an application form which should take me hours  i hope not.

Making everyday biscuits and "Katies potaties" my famous no mayo/salad cream garlic potato salad... im addicted to it. mmmm potato salad. mmmmm

Will update later on other OS things i need to do once i have made my list for the day.

    Hi everyone

Mr TM is back from his travels - but he goes away again tomorrow (taking DS1 with him) so no doubt I will be doing lots of laundry later on :(

Tidied and vac'd the whole house last night after DS's were asleep, apart from their rooms, for which I'll need a bulldozer. DS2 thinks going to bed means getting ALL his toys out and spreading them as far around his room as he can!

I have to take Mr TM's car for a new exhaust in a minute. I then have a mystery shopping job to do in town, so I shall walk from the garage to town and back (7 miles) Need a good walk anyway.:) Well, that's the intention as it's a fine but cool day. There's always the bus if not.

OK, off for a quick surf. Catchya all later.

  • Morning!

We have the vicar coming this morning  in an hour and a half and we are not dressed and have no milk in the house. we're planning dd's christening, so have to sit down with him. Good news is we're all being dressed up for the day on the cheap. DS' outfit on special, mine on sale (from Boden - £23 instead of £59!!!!!), dd's outfit not on special, but not expensive either - plus it's not pink which is a HUGE relief.

Made chocolate bread last night but the yeast was duff so we have THICK little loaf to eat. Was also looking at a slow cooker in the argos sale for about £8 ... hmmmm.

Right, must go get showered! Have a lovely OS day, all!

  • Morning all - quite chilly here in Taunton today but a nice relief from all the hurrendously hot weather recently.

Jo, I hope I havent missed you but GOOD LUCK!!!!

As for me, had quite an OS night last night as I made a chicken casserole to cook overnight last night and put a loaf of bread on too in the bread machine - lso woke up this morning to the wonderful smells of slowly cooking chicken casserole and fresh bread - yum!!!

Got up at 6 am this morning to do 30 mins on the step machine before showering etc and going to work - feeling very virtuous! determiend to lose the stone that I want before we try for a baby in octobe r- fingers corssed! Have a bet going with my best friend that we will both have lost 5 lb by the time we meet on 17th August in London.

As for the rest of the day, work as usual and then relaxing night tonight with homemade casserole, a few boiled potatoes and some homemade bread - lush!

    Have a fab day everyone!

    Hello all,
Good luck with the job interview jw!!! ( I hate job interviews, I get so nervous)
Im now on day 2 of my six weeks leave from work. I spent yesterday sorting out DD1's bedroom, OH has been decorating it and I cleared out all her boxes of stuff (which are now in my bedroom) put up her new curtains and she is now just waiting for her new carpet which is being fitted on Thursday. It is all lovely and lilac and girly in her room now, Im tempted to move in myself!
Today Im going to attack DD2's room which needs a good sort out, and clear out all of their old clothes for ebaying/charity, and sort out no longer played with toys for the car boot we are planning on doing.
After this I need to give the house a wipe over from top to bottom.
Im doing the shopping tomorrow (OH usually does it) so Im going to Asda for a change as OH usually goes to sainsburys. Ive been keeping my till receipts so I can compare all the prices. Im also planning on doing a shop at Aldi and Tesco soon too so I can decide which is the best value and shop there from now on. I think I need to start the store cupboard challenge before I start the grocery challenge though to clear the decks a bit.
Im off to make a start, have a nice day everyone!
