Hi Nicki and everyone else,
Went to family party last night so didn't get to bed till late and so got up about 10. It was nice as i saw lots of relatives I've not seen for years, and my gift was very OS- I wrote a long letter to my dad with lots of happy memories that I have of my childhood that he helped provide.
I have done some washing up and a general tidy, trying to decide what else to do as it's raining now.
Tomorrow I will go to hospital for my op as long as they have a bed for me, so I'm trying to sort out all the little things that I might not feel up to when I come home on Tuesday. Also trying not to think about the op as I'm really not very brave and and am quite squeamish about anything involving hospitals
Am going to Mum's for dinner later so she will cook a nice roast.
I looked in the freezer yesterday ad wrote a list of all its contents as it always seems full but I can never think what to cook despite all the food in thereWent shopping yesterday and bought lots of storecupboard staples and I'm determined to come up with lots of meals I can make with it all as so often I just end up eating beakfast cereal!
Have a great day all!

Morning nicki
Had a late night yesterday. Had a nice long soak at about 9.30 then decided to watch a video my friend lent me ages ago - Calendar Girls. So I thought I would use the time usefully and ironed - till 12.30! Didn't get half the jobs done yesterday that I wanted (a bit like your shower job) DS's decided to play out all day, which is fine so I decided to do gardening and got stuck into the sorting of the garage. Car is now full of junk and recycling stuff for the tip, which is where I'm headed after lunch. Also, I now have a fair idea what I've got for a boot sale, although when I can do one is another matter. Also found my wellies that Mr TM swore blind weren't in there - so now have the replacement pair, the found pair and a pair that are a little too small (in car boot box)
DS1 wants to bake this afternoon (yippee) so will have to got to grotty expensive Spar on way home for more eggs. Need to sort out/collate all my pressies that I've bought in the sales and are now 'hidden' in various places around the house, before I forget what I have and who I've bought for. Mum gave me some proper storage boxes so they will do just dandy
May even drag the sewing machine out of the attic when I'm up there - you never know, I may put it to some use soon.
Ooooh, another one of those jobs I HAVE HAVE HAVE to do today - defrost my indoor, totally frozen solid freezer. I have brought my steam stripper inside so I'm part way there. (May even set to on my bedroom as fed up of the grot wallpaper that is on there) Then I may find something exciting for tea - in the freezer, not behind the bedroom wallpaper
OK, off to finish my freshly squeezed juice and then HM soup and bread for lunch. (Aren't decent breadmakers great)

ps not ignoring you sarah - just took me so long to type this. Hello too :wave:0 -
Pressure cooker is on with a pullet chicken in. I have added water, dried red kidney beans, pearl barley, chick peas, 1 chopped sweet potatoe (reduced in netto), 2 chopped onions, salt and pepper. Hoping to remove the chicken, strip it, put carcass back in the pressure cooker, cook some more and skim off any fat and have a tasty soup for tea and freezer. Any extra advice would be welcomed! The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0

Hi everyone, ive been lurking around for long enough so i have decided to join.I have decided to start the pin money challenge next month but i have been writing down everything what ive been spending all of july,im totaly gobsmacked to how much money ive been wasting so far.
Just want to say thanks for all the tips and tricks and the humour amongst some of the posts is great.Just wish i found this site sooner when i was up to my eyes in debt with an empty purse and empty fridge with no heating through my own stupidity.Ive still got debt but at least i can afford to eat regular now.
Im so tempted to get a breadmaker that also makes jam after reading what you all have wrote but dont know if i can justify spending that amount of money incase it becomes another fad of mine.0 -

Got loaaads of bargains all for about £10. got a huge bundle of brand new tea towels and dish cloths, some cotton buds, some yummy donuts.. and "willy wonka and the descent" on dvd from one of them men selling..erm... yeah. (we couldnt download it properly)
Went and got some nibble things in aldi then did a one person shop in sainsburys for when OH is away. We got a half price thermos flask for him to take his coffee down on the train instead of paying costa prices.
Off to the craft supply shop in a minute as i need to buy some stuff for a new venture in the hair extension field, got people on a list already who want to order... weeeee.
Registered a domain, just got to check it is all up and running as i have had a company name change... about time i did this more professionally as the money is starting to roll in.

Enjoy your sunday everyone0 -
Welcome Squiggles! And afternoon to everyone else!

Afternoon everyone :hello:
Before it rained, i managed to pull some beetroot, which i have cooked. Also picked some more raspberries, with which i have made some more jam in breadmaker. My blackberries are coming along nicely (there are loads!!) so when they're ready i will freeze some and make some blackberry jam, will also make some blackberry & apple (homegrown of course) jam. Will also make some plum jam when me plums are ready...
After i have had a little look round the site i will tackle my ironing pile. Oh Joy!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday....0 -
Hi everyone, and welcome Squiggles!
I am feeling rather chuffed with myself today - I completed the Race for Life this morning in aid of Cancer Research in 38 minutes (kind of half running half walking!).
Got some half price salmon steaks yesterday so this evening I'm going to try a recipe that my sister gave me - mix up breadcrumbs with pesto, spread over salmon, add cheese, and bake. Sounds so easy that even I won't be able to mess it up - I'll let you know how it goes...
Has anyone got any good ideas for a new baby gift? My friend had a little boy yesterday so wanted to do something nice for her. It's pouring with rain here in Birmingham so seems like a good sort of day to stay in and 'make' things!
Hope you're all having a nice day...
