Morning everyone
Sorry to hear about poor Sidney, sad time. And sorry you didnt get the job Vicky, better luck next time, something will come along.
Well, I am about to put the washing on the line, but it looks a bit cloudy, hope it doesnt rain as I did loads of washing yesterday ready to hang out today!
Managed to do a lot of cleaning up yesterday, so I think I might try and tidy the cupboard under the stairs... nightmare space!!
I dont know what I can do really today to make it OS, but I'm sure something will pop into my head.
Have a nice day everyone, Teresa0 -
Sad start this morning when my friend phoned to say that her husband passed away early this morning, a happy release, he had been ill for 9 weeks and she had done a magnificent job nursing him at home with help from Marie Curie and Macmillan nurses.
Up to the shops to get a card for her and two new keys for the garage, dear OH put his keys down on Thursday and the little pixies stole them!!!!! cost me £5.00 to get 2 cut, at least now we have a spare as well as one each.
Slow cooker arrived this morning, so I will be boning up on the recipe board, boy is it big, looks like it will take about 3lbs of stewing meat so a couple of months stews cooked at once...... will have to be careful, we only have a little freezer.....Fancy getting a leg of lamb and cooking it then slicing the meat into portions and freezing it, I love lamb with garlic.......that would do us for several dinners........
Nothing planned for the rest of the day.... just chilling out I think, supper is defrosting, liver and bacon, with new spuds, cauli and carrots, bought some cheap strawberries, so they will do for dessert.......

Hi, this is the first time I've posted so thought I would say hello.
I'm kindof having a money saving day. Didn't start off too well, as I spent £100 in the Next sale this morning - a lot I know, but I've but a big bundle of clothes on Ebay last night that I think I should get about £30 for, and I'm sat at work at the moment doing some overtime I should get about £70 for, so really I've changed my wardrobe for free!!
My boyfriend is at home doing the garden and decorating the spare bedroom as we've just bought our first house, but we've already got all the decorating materials, so that's free too.
Tonight I think we will be staying in and watching a film with some cheap wine - as saving to go on holiday.
And tomorrow we get all our washing, cleaning, ironing etc done, and in the afternoon will be going to the driving range for a couple of hours (golf is our new hobby). So all in all a pretty cheap weekend I think.Comping Challenge

[] Ironing - tonight while watching Eastenders I think. No CSI tonight as I have tonights episode on DVD so I'll watch a film instead especially as I have also seen tonight episode of Most Haunted (FTN) as well
[/] Make up cordials for fridge (including finishing of the lemonade I made yesterday)
[X] Tea - fish of some kind as it's Friday - ended up having homemade chips for OH and DD while OH and I had cheesepie

I think I'm going to go back to bed.
My daughter lost her key last night so she ended up locked out all last night, if she'd only got home at a reasonable hour it wouldn't have happened as I waited up for her until 2.40am but just couldn't stay awake any longer.
The cat arrived home this morning bleeding from the mouth so DH has trotted off to the vets with her. I'm sat here keeping my fingers crossed.
And to top it all off somebody came to view the house and the estate agents hadn't informed us beforehand. They'd come all the way from Berkshire with a baby so I didn't have the heart to turn them away but the house was not exactly looking it's bestOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Have no idea what this evening holds in store - have told OH it's his turn to come up with an idea as I always do the planning - you can almost see steam coming out of his ears as he tries to think of something.... I predict we will end up staying in and watching some blokey film but I'll withhold judgement till later....
Well I should have given OH a bit more credit earlier. He has just announced that the big Saturday night out is going to be dinner and cinema (his treat, so nice and money saving for me!).
I wasn't wrong about the blokey film though - it's going to be War of the Worlds. Anyone else seen it? Is it any good?0 -
Yeah, I have seen it. Its got great effects etc - the worst thing about it (despite the fact I am female) is Tom Cruise. I can think of at least 6 better men for the role. Having said that, I enjoyed it (although wouldn't make the effort to see it again).0

Well yesterdays cleaning sort of went to plan. I decided to clean all the windows inside and out while I was at it
DD thought it was highly amusing watching me sitting on the internal windowledge hanging out of her bedroom window trying to get rid of the streaks left by the squeege
May I point out that I'm not exactly a petite person so I kept banging my elbows and the frame and catching myself. It was worth it though. I only have the kitchen window to do now.
I spent last night sitting with my recipe books trying to come up with some ideas for the next months meals. I gave up at 11pm and went to bed with just one book to go.
Today so far :- Sorted out all the washing into seperate wash loads (8 and counting ) ready for when our new machine arrives on Tuesday
- Wrapped and dispatched 3 ebay parcels
- Some little bit shopping (washing up liquid, cola etc) which has totally absorbed all my PIN for the month except for 20p!
- Updated Turbolister twice!
- All my internet stuff is done
[] Put shower back on wall (the bar bit has come down again! new rawplug and filler here I come!)
[] Dishes
[] Clean kitchen
[] Clean Oven
[] Clean fridge / freezer
[] Inventory of cupboards / fridge / freezer to try and get some meals / inspirtation out of them
[] Handwashing of some underwear - we can survive without the rest of the washing until the machine arrives, I hope!
[] Make up cordials for fridge
[] Visit Nan
[] Evening meal - working on it
As for the ironing - OH is doing this tomorrow while he watches a film.:DCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Our 18 yo DD is mad on photography (wants to do it at Uni after her art foundation year) She has lots of photos that, to me, look wonderful.
Would you mind giving me a few pointers as to what kind of photo is in demand? is it cute kiddies and pets for example, so far she has more landscapes in her portfolio than anything else is there any call for these?
I don't use photos in my shops. I create logos to put on my t shirts with paint shop pro.
This is my best selling shop:

I have 20 odd shops and the ones that are science related and in the Geek catagory sell the best. The best tip I can give you is to open as many shops as you can in different catagories, then you can see what sells.
Take a look at this catagory and see whats popular.

If your daughter has a graphics program prehaps she can addd logos etc to her pictures?
Good luck!0 -
bit lazy today.Got up at 8am (only went to sleep at 1 as I was reading).
OH came home safe from London(he said they had a controlled explosion of a suspicious package which turned out to be somebody's laptop in its bag) and had brekky and went to bed.
I trawled around the charity shops today checking out the clothes as DS needs some plain trousers(not jeans) some shirts and ties for 6th form college in September.Didnt buy any as he wasnt with me but at least I've got a good idea which shops are sensible prices now.(some charity shops charge more than the item costs new!)
I found myself a pair of cargo trousers as my long trousers are in need of replacement(I wear shorts all summer).
Home to Cheese and Tom sandwiches for all of us with our HM bread.
OH has got up and taken DD to Karate.
I did about 30 mins in the garden before it started to rain.
Tea today will be all the edible stuff left at this end of the week as I shop for food on Sunday.0
