It's in the Slow Cooker Index under Miscellaneous.

    Here :)

It's actually very nice. I add mushrooms and was going to put tomatoes in there but forgot :) I scale things down to a) fit the slow cooker and b) fir the adults. Couldn't manage a whole american portion. :D

TBH I ate so much last night that I was still full this morning so the 3 men ate it all. I had muesli and strawberries, which is much healthier but now I'm hungry and wondering what to make for lunch.

Somewhere in the slow cooker thread, there are quite a few of us who have tried it and enjoyed it. I think one weekend the nation's slow cookers were doing breakfasts.

Afternoon all --- Woken rudely at 6am this morning with a little voice asking if it was ok to have a chocolate milkshake!!!!! I won't repeat my answer!

Went off to Lidls clear out sale - never been to one before but got there early just in case -- good job too - it was packed. Managed to push and squeeze my way into the crowd and picked up loads of bits - poor hubby stood in a corner with an increasing amount of stuff - we'd more than filled a trolly and only got charged.....................a tenner!!!!!!!!!! Cushions, sets of knives, chopping boards, plastic storage crates, tupperware, glasses, cleaning stuff, tool boxes, huge tool set, wrapping paper.......you name it - we got it. They were selling so much stuff the staff could hardly keep up. Took mother with us - she got just as much stuff - including some huge rugs and a 13 piece stainless steel pan set - hers was only a tenner too! Had trouble fitting everything in the boot! :j

Decided to treat ourselves with the left over money (I'd budgeted £30) and have got all the trimmings for a nice bbq - DH is making his wonderful cheesy chilli burgers as we speak.

After such a washout of a few days with DD's being poorly and all our plans being cancelled it's amazing how grabbing a few bargins can cheer you up.

I'm off to make some veggi kebabs - must show willing!

    Have a wonderful afternoon all.

I finally made the tortillas from the fajita thread ages ago, they're lovely and go very well with the chickpea goo I made yesterday. :)
Finished the new Harry Potter last night, wonder how long we'll have to wait for the next one?!

    Hello everyone

This is the first chance today that I have able to sit down and log on to the Internet.

Up bright and early this morning and at our local car boot sale for 7am. Had a good rummage and came away with demi-johns, fermentation bin, 6 cookery books (for £2.50!), 2 wildlife books and a utensil jar to put my wooden spoons in. So a good trip, all in all. Oh, and I also got some baby leeks to put into the garden.

This afternoon we have racked some of the wine we started last month and put some apples into the dehydrator so that we can have dried apple rings on our cereal. The lamb shoulder I bought yesterday has gone into the oven and this evening we'll be planting out the leeks, watering the garden and if I get the chance I'll be turning up a pair of trousers.

Youngest daughter has finished Harry Potter and passed it on to me. I just don't think I'll have time to read it!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
  • I finished Harry Potter about 8pm last night - what a lovely day doing nothing but reading. When I finished I had my tea out of my sparkly new slow cooker - I'd describe what I made as edible but maybe a bit more practice is needed before I inflict my cooking on other people.

Anyway the price I paid for having such a lazy day yesterday is I've been running round all day today. Done two wash loads and now trying to decide whether ironing or cleaning the bathroom is more appealing. My ironing pile is now officially the highest mountain in Great Britain.

Hope you're all enjoying the lovely weather.
