    Hi everybody....

bit blue today, I would normally work shifts and then have three or four days off in a row, at the moment I am on "restricted Duties" because I find I just cannot do nights so am in an office, hence the ability to spend way too much time on here with you guys so I do mon to fri 8-4 and have two days off... I need more!

And I phoned the hospital on Monday and they said my operation for gallstones wont be for another 6 MONTHS  probably not until Janurary!

Not only does this mean another six months of chicken (somebody help me) but I wont even be able to have roast dinners, or christmas dinner...

Arghhhhhhhhhhhh, think I might try that primal scream therapy thingy.... oh well cheering myself up now with the idea of going home and just screaming!!! :D

moan over, but if anyone has an exciting dairy free recipe possibly involving chicken let me know!

    Cheers guys
    Kippers xxx :D

Edited to say I am and have been checking the recipe boards... going to go and look closer at the veggie recipes.
oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!
  • Good morning all!

Feeling slightly less blue today about our financial woes, just have to wait and see what happens now.

Had the yummy slow cooker sausage casserole last night, that I made the night before - yummy scrummy! I had it with broccoli and cauliflower, and OH had it with fresh new potatoes and cauliflower.

Today, just another day at work but we are off to see Disney's Beauty & The Beast at Bristol tonight, so should be magical! The trip was booked ages ago with the plan being we would go for dinner before as a treat - what with our financial troubles at the mo, I think dinner could be McDonalds or the chippy he he - ah well, still a treat!

Not much OSing going on for me tonight - I love the sound of Queenie's everyday biccies though, so am going to try and make some of those tomorrow night.

Anyway best get on and earn a crust I expect

    Morning.

Yum - everyday biccies. I can see another batch being made in chez Mouse :D

Need to do general cleaning today, may do some kitchen cupboards and drawers too. Did the grill with the ammonia trick last night, so that's nice and clean. It's raining here (again) so my bedding will have to go in the drier. I can manage most of my jobs whilst having my weekly 2 hour chat to a distant friend (18866) :D Have a mystery shopping job to do in another town this pm, but may combine the trip with meeting an old friend for coffee - even though I go to Clitheroe several times a week, with spending all my time looking after parental units, never get time to see her, so will call her and make sure she's available. Oooh, posh coffee :D

Ok, off for shower and time to get my backside into gear. I'm not too bothered about later starts as I'm an evening person so you'll often find me scrubbing floors or cookers at 10pm.:)

    Morning!

Today is my day off, so I celebrated in style by having a lie in. I'm going to have a nice, leisurely soak in the bath, then I'm off to town via the village hall. I have 2 big charity bags for the village hall committee - donated by the neighbours too - and then I'm having my hair cut in town. I may also have a mooch around the market. I'm not used to having cash in my pocket. I may also have a look at slow cookers ...

When I get back, I have one job of my own to get off the desk, then an hour of aerobics (I lost 4lb last week), and then tea. Hmm. What shall we have? If I have time to bake (it could be baking while I'm jumping around like a mad fool), I might have a go at Queenie's biscuits.

Ebay is so quiet at the moment, I call it the summer slump, it's great for buyers because there isn't the competition putting the prices up but not so good for sellers, this is my 5th ebay summer so I should be used to it by now but it still a bit scary. The upside is I can spend more time on here and see what everyone else is doing.

It was a restaurant curry last night, OH and I are so out of practice at eating out that neither of us took our reading glasses (that speaks volumes, firstly that we never eat out, well not in places that don't have neon menus on the wall and also that we are of an age that we both need glasses for reading and the last time we DID read a proper menu both of us had perfect eye-sight) We both had to squint at the small print that told you that rice wasn't included in the price.
We used to go to this place when we first met 27 years ago, we would empty out our pockets and if we had £5.00 between us that covered the lot including tips, yeasterday the same meal was £28.00 so we were trying to work out if the prices had gone up relatively and came to the conclusion that it was, if anything, cheaper now than then.

I'm home by myself today, OH is on site meetings so I'll talk to the cats instead, it's a cold and miserable day so no salad from the garden today, I'm really not good at cold food on cold days so the lettuces will live to see another day.

I always feel so lazy when I read everyone's busy to-ing and fro-ing but when I think back a few years when the sprogs were in different schools, each a car journey away in opposite directions I suppose I did the same, now there are some days when I don't need to leave the house at all.

So today it's ebay photos, a bit of theaputic Hoovering, cat bothering and bathroom cleaning for me
