Hello everyone, big hug to those of us who aren't feeling too well today.

A quiet day for me today. I have three days off work on leave and DS is on a football course. He needs dropping off at 10am and picking up at 3pm but that leaves me with some me-time to do stuff I can't normally do when I'm working.

Going to mum's in a bit to drop off my graduation pic for her that arrived this morning. (She will be very proud I'm sure!) Will have a coffee and a natter with her. Then I need to go shopping for a short black skirt and some fishnet tights - I am going on a hen weekend this weekend and this will be the regulation attire that I and all the other girls must have. Ho hum, I think I'm a bit past this at nearly 38 but what the hell, nobody will know me in Newquay!!

I will make a big chilli tonight as OH will be home late and he can re-heat it and there should be some to freeze.

I will also investigate setting up as a seller on ebay. I buy some things on there but I need some time to go through the rules etc and sort the goods out.

    Have a great day everyone!

Hello everyone! Have finally unpacked from our hols! So today it's ironing, ironing and more ironing where is it all coming from? only took a couple of small cases!

Have put a loaf in the breadmaker. I'm trying to do a tomato-type loaf with some tom puree and a few choped up sundried toms thrown in. Hope it turns out OK.

Was going to do my huge pile of ironing today then study all afternoon. Then my mum came round and, without being asked, whisked my huge pile of ironing away to do. How pleased am I!!!! :D

Am trying to decide what to do for tea tonight....

    Hello everyone :hello:

Well, I've been incredibly lazy so far today, but I haven't been helped by OH. He had to go back in to work last night to do something on the system whilst no one else was there (he works in IT). He didn't return until 4.30am and so therefore hadn't set his alarm to get up at the normal time - so I slept too!

I'll make up for it this afternoon. I haven't got too many plans for this afternoon as when I do make plans, they seem to go out of the window! I did get a large pack of blueberries yesterday though so that I can make blueberry muffins for our holiday - I just forgot to get the buttermilk, so that'll be another trip to Tesco as our little shop in the village doesn't sell that sort of thing!

Got another application form to do. I'm getting these down to a fine art..... hopefully I'll have an interview for when I get back from my holiday!

Take care and have a good day.

    Hello.

Well, lazy start for me as made Mr TM get up and give boys their brekkie. However,he then went back to sleep on settee and boys kept rushing into my bedroom just as I was nodding off again to tell me the latest whatever was in their minds at the time. Don'tcha just love a lie in!! However, dragged myself into the shower at 10.30. Put one load on line as it's sunny here and another in washer.

Mr TM and DS1 are flying off to Belfast today to see MIL. So I've packed the case and made sure they have everything (like DS's toothbrush which Mr TM forgot to put in his washbag!) Will have to drive them to Liverpool airport in a bit so I'm going to detour to Warrington on way back as I want to have a look at the QVC outlet store - am going to look it up on net in a mo.

Other than that, will just do whatever needs doing tonight as it arises. Not going to bake as it will mean I HAVE to eat the cakes and we're off on hols in 3 weeks :) At least I can have a good eat up from freezer and store cupboard over the next week.

Right, see ya all later and hope all you sickies feel better soon

Just got around to thinking about Old Style.

Ancasta & Fairylight - sorry to hear you’re not feeling too good.

Ancasta – any news on yesterdays interviews?

Squeaky – Thanks for the bit about Freecycle, we had spotted it already that ‘normally’ they want an ‘offer’ first. DS1 is planning to put things on when he’s actually in the area, but he doesn’t move in until September, and doesn’t want to list things unless he’s there, and also to make sure he remembers to take them!! Anyway, just heard that they’ve passed it. He did also say that it was wanted for the other 5 he’s sharing with aswell, so maybe that helped. He’s expecting it’s going to be handy to list things when they all move out next year, as they’re promised accommodation back on Campus.

Anyway nothings broken ‘YET’ today. :D

No new slug trails in the cellar. :j

Lunch planned of rice salad (with left over rice & sweetcorn) and potatoe salad (remembered to cook extra spuds yesterday) padded out with some bits and pieces.

DS2’s friends brought some pressies last night: marmalade – I’d just run out, shortbread biscuits – needed some puddings so going to use as a dessert with strawberries & cream, and a set of mugs – this rental place had nearly no cups/mugs, so very useful, will go off with DS1 or 2 to Uni in the autumn. So all very useful and moneysaving. :D

Biggest moneysaver (but not really old style) was needed a flight for DS2, spotted an Air France banner on Friday on the aiport website when checking OH’s arrival time. Jeune Majeure from 87 Euro’s + taxes. So followed the link, basically Jeune majeure, means 18 – 24 so DS2 eligible – ended up paying about 150 euro’s (could have got it slightly cheaper, but awful flights and would have needed taxis at both ends so dearer), had double checked before booking. Opodo treated him as an adult, cheapest flight £400, Air France UK’s website did’t mention the tickets. So ended up paying just over £100 for an ideal flight – so very pleased. :j I think he’d have needed to spend ages on a train or coach if I hadn’t spotted it.

Everyone seems to be ironing. I hate ironing  I think it’s a response to 3 males in the household, all over 6’, and normal weeks with 21 LARGE shirts in the ironing pile as a starting point.

Waiting for the return of the hungry teenages again!!

    Hi everyone!!
I'm having a very good day today. Floors got washed before I left and it's the choice between finishing cleaning the kitchen cupboards or doing the ironing tonight. Have sent husband and the small person down to Lidl today with a list of items so shall be interested to hear how they got on. Have been paid a bonus today which was a very pleasant surprise. It's lovely to be appreciated!! I shall be looking after the small person this afternoon so we're off to see a clown in the park which is a free event. Tonight for tea it's mushroom stroganoff to use up the big box of value mushrooms and the creme fraiche left over from last night's tea.
Enjoy the rest of your day
    Regards

  • Good afternoon all - sorry for being so late on but work has bene really busy today!

Ancasta & fairy sorry to hear you are both feeling under the weather - sending hugs your way!

As for me, had quite an OS night last night - was bliss to be able to walk in, heat up some homemade chicken casserole, boil some potatoes and slice some homemade bread - dadah! - tea!

Ex boyf who has a large allotment gave me a substantial amount of rhubarb on Monday so stewed all of that last night with some water and sugar and then froze as two crumble-sized portions until the weekend, when I always feel more like baking.

Tea tonight is traditional Wednesday for us - fish cakes, boiled potatoes, veg and parsley sauce - yum!

Apart form that, tonight will be watching TV, maybe sorting some paperwork out (really need a filing cabinet - anyone know any good deals, we are broke!), and generally chilling. Working at home this Friday so will be able to get LOTS done then!

    Have fun all!
