    Hello everyone

Beemuzed, hope you made the most of your birthday yesterday. Another year older, another year wiser......

Hilstep, I'm so glad to hear that there is a noticeable improvement in your Mum.

Catznine, age is only a number! You are definitely young in attitude and you are v.attractive as well. Just think of poor AussieLass who has to tell everybody when she manages to get on the right bus for a change, the poor wee dear.

I've been off wo*k today, thank the Lord! I booked it way before Christmas, but really it has been fabulous to have a chill out day today. I've also taken two deliveries of things I ordered from the internet. I think I'll only order from companies which use Royal Mail from now on - one of the couriers tried to deliver yesterday when I was at wo*k. When he phoned in the evening he was so rude, and gave off because there was nobody in to accept the parcel. He showed up today about four hours after the time he said he'd be here, then he asked me how future deliveries should be handled - I told him that I doubt if there will be future orders coming from me. What am I supposed to do, take a day's holiday to suit him? I'll just shop elsewhere I think.

I've achieved the sum total of nothing today - really haven't been in the mood at all but must boogie on downstairs and get a bit of cleaning done. I indulged in some daytime television and watched a car boot show. I wish we had more car boot sales over here in N.Ireland, there was such an abundance of them in London where I lived before and I miss them!

Hope everyone is well or if not, then getting better.

    Hiya, hurray it's Friday! :j

Big hugs to all those feeling poorly and hope you're on the mend soon.

Furrypig A really thoughtful thing to do for another person. Makes you feel good and makes a huge difference to the other person. Good on you! :D

dlb Well done on the giving up smoking. My mum went 'cold turkey' last year after being a 20 a day for the past 35 years and at first was climbing the walls! She saved all of her 'not buying cigs money' and started treating herself every couple of months to some new clothes etc. It's made a huge difference to her health too, so keep it up you can do it! :T

I've been in work for the past 2 days and I'm shattered. Teaching little ones is great but it's also hard on the back and knees and I'm only 39! I think I'll be going back into key stage one (infants) in a couple of years as that involves less kneeling, sitting on the floor, being hugged to death and picking up children who are upset!

Not much os here today and it's Lazy Tea night of pizza and oven chips!;)

    evening all,

Hope you are all well, Essex-girl, glad the cheese trick worked, never fails with mine.

All home now, have done a wash and got it on the airer, one less to do tomorrow  , DD is upstairs tidying her [strike]pit[/strike] room :D , thretened to take her allowance away if not :D

Waiting for curry to be delivered then corrie and enders, and a glass of something chilled and [strike]expensive[/strike] cheap

Found a holiday cottage for a week at easter for £275, which is quite cheap compared to most, so might book it for the week.

Need to go back to the opticions tomorrow, they altered my glasses last week, and at the time I said that they were not right, but she said theywould wear in  , no all they have done is make my already sore nose even worse, its red raw, and the skin is breaking, might try some plasters on it a la jack duckworth :D

    Have good evenings all xx

Phew what a day! I had so much work to get through. Instead the boss moved the goalposts om a project (despite my objections) which meant I had to rework two day's worth of work, then I found he'd booked me into a meeting taking up the entire afternoon. Not happy with any of it - we had (gentle) words. I didn't even get a lunchbreak - I bought 2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts to treat the team this morning because it's been a tough old week, so I've had 4 of them and nothing else all day. Going to bed soon - I feel peculiar. Must be all the unaccustomed sugar.

Dare I say it - I've been sunbathing today after coming back from pampering session, it was great.:o :o

I cannot believe the weather, I did not expect it to be this good

    You have my sympathies honestly:o:rolleyes:

Off to go and get ready as we are off to a quiz night and meal out tonight.

Pen-Pin - could your DD do some paid chores for you so she did not have to go out on a paper round to earn?

Take care everyone and furrypig that was a lovely gesture.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Hi again all

    Sooooooo glad it's the weekend!!

Catznine - Happy Birthday to your DS. Love your avi btw. :D
Joeyemma - my mum had labyrinthitis and the only thing she could do was sit upright in a chair. Any other movement and she felt as though she was on a ship that was listing all over the place. She got tablets to control it and thankfully she is fine now but she says it was the most horrible feeling.
Hilstep So glad to hear that your DMum is improving. That must be such a weight off your mind.
redruby - you could maybe try a little bit of cotton wool under the rim where it hurts - the plaster might irritate your skin even more if it's one of those old fabric-y type.

The mini-booklovers have had a *fabulous* day today. DD has been named Student of the Week. She is soooo made up about that. DS got the results of his recent science GSCE coursework tests. He got 50/50 in one and 48/50 in the other. So even if he does absolutely no work between now and May 09, he has already achieved two GCSEs! Well, three if you include his English coursework (he got an A* for that too). I'm very proud of him because he has studied very well without needing prompting.

W**k was very pressured today. I was using a completely new system and database and had to submit over £250,000 worth of new business (boss is a financial adviser) online. I managed to remember most of the training course on Wednesday and my boss was impressed that I managed to get it all done. (Hmmmm, must remember that when I speak to him about my salary and the lack of any increase.) Of course the feedback might say otherwise - I shall keep you posted. :o

Tesco phoned today to say that they will deliver DS's bed between 8am and 1 pm tomorrow. Must say I've been impressed with their service - far more so that M&S who haven't honoured a whole order and then appear to have charged me the same delivery charge THREE TIMES and are now disputing this. I'm *SO* annoyed because there shouldn't be any delivery charge at all. I have told them that I will submit the relevant part of my CC bill as proof. Wonder how they will reply to that?

Well, I have had a couple of glasses of wine (with dinner I hasten to add) and I now feel that the weekend is beginning. Hope you all have a good one. xx

After a rushed start to the day with oversleeping and yesterdays stress I've spent the whole day doing nothing in particular............chatted to OH about life in general and how we really ought to make the best of the hours that are free of any hassle. Difficult this time of year............I hate the cold so long walks are not for me I'm afraid but I actually got the paints out my son bought me for my birthday as a joke.......for age 5 plus with adult supervision...........lol Paint - let dry, add puffer paint, let dry, add glitter then dry with hair drier and watch it puff up..................so it says on the box anyway. So tomorrow with one boy at his Mums I just might find the time to do that, have a little play and send it to my son for a laugh.................lol
Loads of stuff I maybe 'ought' to do - sorting through our bedroom being one but even that I can make a pleasure sifting through old jewellry, books and whatever else I come across.
The lad who sneaked a 'girlfriend' in yesterday has gone out -asked first if he could have a key as he might be late !!!! No no says I. You've lost that privelege. Not taking any chances of who might be here in the morning. So, if he's not in by 11 he can stay at his mates and come back in the morning.
No argument (which I expected ) and off he's gone so we just could be in for a quiet night of 'Jam and Jerusalem' (why isn't there a WI like that here?.........lol) New Tricks and QI then bedtime............need the sleep.

Tomorrow will be good.................I'll make it so:T

evening all - friday - yay!!!!! It's been a long old week of stroppy detainees in my court.

dd11 is hopefully with her dad now - put it this way afterschool haven't phoned to tell me that I she's still there at a cost of £1 per minute
I am celebrating with two pork chops, mash and veggies with meaty meaty gravy.

dlb :T :T :T - hope you're going to treat yourself with that unspent fag money - i wish I had the guts to do it
Penpin - remember there's always lots of lovely shoulders here to cry on for those inevitable why-me days.

plans for the rest of the day are to break the back of the weekend catchup housework and then to flop with my latest sewing project while listening to the radio. Hope to get into the garden some time over the weekend to get the ground all ready for spring. I am hoping to give up the veg box in a few months as it's gone up to £8 for a small one. am also going to test the weekly shop at aldi's - I have a feeling that they're not going to have everything I want as i cook mostly from scratch but you never know. well that's it - nothing exciting - just the way I like it :D
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
