Morning all...just ((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one.
Have not read the thread yet, will do so when I have posted.
Its a totally horrid day, pouring with rain, I do hope no one here is in an area where there are floods, the pictures on TV were awful, the second time in less that 6 months dreadful...........
I am off to my friends this afternoon for a girly chat, have not seen her for two weeks, it was her birthday yesterday, have alittle pressy and a card for her.
OH has started a puzzle of Sydney Harbour, he has tried this one several times but the sea beat him , he is detirmined to do it this time.
We are still waiting for his annuity which was due Jan 2nd, he phoned again this morning, it appears that it has gone into the bank, but when is anybodies guess, I really do not want to have to ring the bank, the call centre is in some far off foreign land and I can never understand what they are saying nor do they seem to understand what I am asking. Their grasp of English can be pathetic to say the least.
Beef and bean stew tonight, with spuds, carrots and cabbage..........
Right off to read the rest of the thread, may be on later..............have a good day as they say in the US of A.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
JoeyEmma, I live in military accommodation (am a Sergeant in the Army) and all out repairs are done through Modern Housing Solutions (MHS) who are contracted to maintain the houses. Unfortunately I earn too much (but as a single mum it soon goes!) to be eligible for grants. MHS approval for a new boiler can take upto 10 working days then you have to wait for a sub-contractor to contact you to arrange installation. I was told approval had gone through on Monday - yeah! and to wait for the sub-contractor to call - no I can't call them! I phoned this morning to find out when they would call to be told that it doesn't look like the approval has gone through yet - my hopes of having a lovely warm house for the weekend were dashed!0

SUESYSUE - I hope things get better for you. You've had some very good advice on here so hopefully you'll get something sorted out. If it's military property, isn't there someone on camp who is meant to deal with such problems?
CATOWEN - thanks for the offer of help. I will definitely take you up on that! At the moment, I'm printing off details of alll the click through sites. The last time I tried to get into a system of doing it, I ended up with bits of paper everywhere and got into a muddle. I like to be totally organised ( a bit anal really but it's the only way I can get anything done!) so I'm getting all the facts and info together first. I've got well into the swing of the comps, though, because so many are posted on here (and with the answers!) and I've downloaded Roboform (which is brilliant).
STEF - keep an eye on that toe. There have been a few toe problems on here lately. Hope it stops hurting soon.
TATTYCATH and JOEYEMMA - (((Hugs))) to you both - hope you soon start feeling better.
PINPIN - (((Hugs))) to your poor FIL; how horrible for him - h's got enough on his plate, hasn't he?
Well, it's pouring with rain here and cold and windy so I am foregoing my daily paper and will read it online if I get the time. I have prepped everything for tonight's stew, put the ironing board up (I WILL do the ironing!), done a couple of hours work, wrapped DGS's and DGD's birthday presents and washed the kitchen floor again because DH made it dirty yesterday after I'd already washed it.
Anyway, I think I'd better go and do some more work so will call in again later.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Just an update on my day so far as I am supremely bored due to spinny ear problems.
I've listed a few more things on ebay, now racking through cupboards thinking - can I sell this. I like to hold on to my books, cds and dvds and was wondering what sort of things you guys all sell in order to make so much money on ebay!
I made scrummy lunch of Nissin Ramen noodles (from the Chinese supermarket) with chilli sauce, sweetcorn, peas and spring onions. Decided to eat it by the computer. As I was walking up the stairs silly slippers came off and I went flying. Queue noodles and veg all over the carpet. Its now cleaned up, but it was the last packet of noodles and I don't know what to have now!!!0 -
Hi everyone. went back to bed at about quarter past 10 this morning and didn't wake up til 1.20pm. I'm up now but still feel cr*p
Reading about all the naughty pooches reminds me of our airedale (sadly gone some years ago) She was lovely but we discovered that she liked eating balloons (not blown up ones) and we often had to help her when we took her out for a walk-obviously she could not digest them and they would stick out in bright array of colours. Sorry to all having a very late lunch.
(((hugs))) to those who need or want them
Sorry to all the people who are struggling today, or who are unwell or have friends/rellys unwell.

oh eeeek dog owners
why do we have them???
Hard up Hester - my old zinc cream eating tessa used to be able to take the choc decorations off the tree and leave the foil too! Your DD's is the first 'other' dog that I know can manage this amazing feat. she never even knocked the tree over. aaah brings back memories.
Csarina - wow I'm not sure even mine could get through a tied up pantry door, although would be seriously tempted by turkey! I've heard that red setters can be mischievous - I just love their regal look.
Nelski - what can i say
Essex Girl - hope your doggie is ok. Am I right in thinking this is a new dog from rescue or am I getting muddled up (easily done)
SuesySue - keep warm and hope it is all resolved pretty soon.
((((hugs)))) to all dealing with dementia. My dad had it for a couple of years before he died. Very hard. I think that the anxiety which often accompanies it is very difficult to see. i would reassure dad and then 5 mins later he would be worried about the same thing again.
Much better day for me after yesterday's hard one. Raining here now though.
DD's flight gets into heathrow about 2.30 today but have heard that an earlier plane landed short of the runway so this might delay all planes I'd think. there are 'only' 3 minor casualties so that is something. Poor people - what a fright.
Off to have a cup of something warming. I'm cold today. Have put heating on and am going to have a snuggle under a quilt on the settee for a snooze.
take care all
