Aloha everyone :j
I'm back - was I missed
We landed from Hawaii yesterday about 1.30pm, and my body clock is all messed up (Island time is 10 hours behind us).
Still I'll be back OS'ing with a vengeance - WM is on, TD is on, BM is on.
Hawaii is beautiful - and hot - it's so cold back here - brrrr!
Tonight's tea is meatball lasagne - which I had the foresight to make and freeze before we went away. Today will be mostly spent washing/drying/ironing - oh what fun  - still can't complain as I haven't had to do and housework for 2 weeks
Need to get our photos printed today and deliver holiday gifts.
Have a great day everyone (((((hugs)))))

I'll add the sticky:
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
I was just going to start the thread and had copied the sticky ready, and SOMO1 seems to be off-line now and probably totally disoriented with the jetlag. Glad you had a good time, and are back OSing with a vengence:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .
Morning Everyone:j :j
Off to the local hospital here for a blood test at 8.40:eek: . Luckily I am an early riser naturally, and a blood donor so it doesn't fase me.
Thanks for the hugs re my Dad in the thread yesterday, what really hurts is it happened (dementia) to such a kind, caring, clever guy, who all his GC adored. He is the only GP my DS has left and he hasn't seen him now for about 3.5 years, and I will not let him go and see him again, but let him remember the Grandad he adored (and was adored back in return). He always loved the sun and would be out here often if he were able, and he never got to see it, and he was the inspiration for me building my career that has enabled us to get it. (rant over).
Friends go home today, and while sad, in some ways looking forward to having the place to ourselves and to do what we like when we like:o .
Have a good day and ((hugs)) all round - Hope you all stay dry.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I don't usually surface this early but woke up at 5 wanting to go to the loo and when I got back to bed started to cough so decided to get up and have a pot of tea rather than disturb DH.
Dishwasher is on - slow cooker pot is filled with soapy water and cooker hob is now gleaming.
Was about to put some dirty washing in the machine and was puzzled it was empty.
Had horrible thought!
Dopey DH has "helped" by emptying the washing machine yesterday and put stuff on radiators to get it dry!
The pillock has put "dirty" washing on radiators - how stupid can you get?
Everything that I am doubtful about is now in the washing machine (again) and is about to be washed.
Why will no one ever help you with stuff you want and yet seem to delight in causing problems by doing stuff you neither want nor need?
I have two non stick pans that need replacing because he insists on using brillo pads!!!! Put a pan full of soapy water on worktop ready to clean later - he emptied it five minutes later.
He will be up at 6.30 and if he dares "help" I may find a use for the pan!!!!
Might make chicken curry in the slow cooker for tonight and try to sort out DD's room a bit more."This site is addictive!"

Morning all - off to work soon. Tonight's dinner is pork loin steaks in some kind of casserole with bits and bobs of veg. DH has a parents evening at school so won't be back until 8pm and has a late performance tomorrow night so won't be back until around 10.30, so I get two evenings by myself before the hordes descend for the weekend.
Tonight I'm going to tackle the diningroom and clear out bags of rubbish now the wheelybin's been emptied. I also need to gather and sort the CDs and DVDs we have scattered round the house; I got rid of a load of old videos last weekend so now we have a bit more space. Still need to work out how to tune in the new DVD/video player; at the moment we can't even play back rerecorded stuff which won't please the stepkids.
Breakfast will be cereal at work, and lunch a tin of something from my desk drawer.0 -
Morning all who have posted and all who will do.
STRESSEDOUT - welcome back. Glad you had a good time - sorry it's so cold!
DONNYGAL - (((Hugs))) to your Dad and you. Good luck with the blood test.
ELONA - your DH sounds like my friend's DH who just can't seem to get anything right. She's always telling him off. Putting dirty washing on to dry is just the sort of thing he would do! He 'helped' in the garden and dug up all 'those weedy things' which turned out to be herbs in her new herb garden. He's not allowed to do anything now without consulting her first. It makes us laugh but I know it drives her mad and I couldn't stand it.
Well, up early again so have entered lots more competitions and had a good look through the 'up your income' thread for some info about doing the cashback sites properly. Like the competitions, I have only been dipping in and out but now, I'm serious; I'm treating it like a job and gathering as much info as I can and will make a start day and time and stick to it. This is what I did with the comps and now I do about an hour every morning and, if I have time, an hour in the afternoons.
The house had a really good clean yesterday so barely needs touching today, bar cleaning the bathroom, which I shall do after my shower, and the small pile of ironing. I need to prep the veg for the beef stew we'll have for dinner tonight. I'll try and get all that done within the next couple of hours. Then I've got about four hours work to do and then I can do more interesting things like the final bit of making-up for the doll I have knitted and wrapping up DGS's and DGD's birthday presents for next week.
Well, I suppose I won't get anything done if I stay here so I'm off for a shower.
Hope everyone has a great day.
See you later.

Morning. Not much to report from down this way. Looks like a wet day again.
Garden is still a swamp and so I won't be venturing out there much.
Work at 1300 and a busy day ahead me thinks.
Have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Good morning all! After yesterday's bad day, I went to bad too late (after eating chocolate cake  ) slept badly and have woken up with a fuggy head, and the sheets pulled off my bed  I'll be off for a run soon, to clear my head. We started a new piece at choir last week, so I'll have that on my MP3 and will sing along loudly to the cows :rotfl: :rotfl: Bought new fancy headphones yesterday - they're in-ear and have a behind the ear clip. They were reduced, so I'll see how I go.
Need to tidy the house, leftover chicken casserole from the freezer with rice and salad for tea. I also have a cake to ice for the Small Penguins after school - they both have clubs tonight, so I'll collect them at 5pm.
Hope the weather's better as I'm hoping to get out into the garden. If I can't do that, I'll be finalising my seed orders, and sourcing some *hatching eggs*. We'd like to have some more Buff Orpingtons - our last girls were taken by foxes.
Have a Terrific Thursday, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning peeps:D
All I have done since waking up is sneeze my way round the house, I do hope I'm not getting that cold back:rolleyes:
Dinner last night was a bit of an odd one, I had to use up some weight watchers things I had bought so my dinner was: mashed swede with cauliflour cheese, green beans and a slice of garlic bread needless to say the bedroom was like a gas chamber after all that:eek:
I popped into a local organic shop yesterday just to have a look and I was amazed to see 2 organic chickens on the shelf at £18 each:eek: I am all for the welfare of the birds etc but that takes the biscuit a bit.
w*** today then a little bit of shopping, I have been taking some water retention tablets only herbal ones but they dont seem to make a blind bit of difference, any OS foods etc that can help in anyway? good ole water does help but I get sick of it after a while:rolleyes:
Hope you all have a good day :T0 -

Morning all
I'm off to work soon, lets hope no-one else falls ill.
My DD has 2 dogs, one used to steal the chocolats ofthe Christmas tree without disturbing the foil, the other one flattens the entire tree to get to the chocolate (he's a staffy)
My hubby will always offer to help, but likes his instructions in writing, in triplicate. I makes me feel like a bully & a nag, but I think it's actually due to his ex.
My ex MIL always insisted in using a brillo pad on my frying pan because it was all black, I tried explaining about Teflon, but to na avail. I just made exoh buy a new pan after every visit. The kids used to say that the pan had been Nannyed.
I hope everybody has a terrific Thursday
Hugs Hester

Morning all
Well the day has finally come when the plumber should come to fix the central heating :j It hasn't been really cold, but it's surprising how much you miss your radiators.
Listing day on Ebay, well, I've got to raise money for the plumber somehow
Got some chicken out for tea and wasn't sure what to do, and then I read that someone is doing chicken curry, so might do that
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
