Certainly is! I have to admit if I knew enough people who would give us their reciepts then I'd do that too!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

the tesco thing isnt for me as i dont believe we need obssessions with tesco nor do i beleive all shopping should be done in there and ignore all small shops sorry its wrong tescos are greedy enough as it is. When everyone else goes out of business they will be pleased and there will be no cometition so i think its shortsighted. Am enjoying the show in general though.:footie:0

Far from it red devil. If you're clever about tescos points collecting you just make use of their extra points vouchers, offers etc and do the rest of your shopping elsewhere. That way you can support your local shops and still make a profit on select tescos items. No need to make it an obsession.
I do a lot of my shopping there, but not all of it and in the last 3 months I've made enough in points to pay for my engagement ring. Now to start saving for the honeymoon!0 -
I watched it the other night.:T
Another good show me thinks, very informative ...I am going to look
into these tesco's point book things or what ever they were:p
I could understand what Martin was saying as he spoke alot slower than last week:D
I cant wait for next week's episode!!!!!
Well done to all involved and members on here that were there!!!!!:j0 -
I agree that we need to support the local shops and I do infact buy all (well 95%) of our meat from our local butchers. Not only better quality, but better prices and choice not to mention service.
Whilst I take advantage of the things Tesco can offer me Clubcard pointwise then I don't shop there solely. Quite a lot was actually cut from the show that we filmed about getting the points etc - time restrictions
Not that long ago I actually tried to stop using Mr T altogether - unfortunately for me it's just not possible to get everything we need from local shops - and buying what I could from local shops turned out to increase the price of THOSE items by over 40%. So no I don't use our village shop unless in an emergency now, I simply can't justify the cost! Also we eat a lot of things like lentils etc which I'd love to buy from local indian shops but the nearest one is 35 miles away...
Bicester isn't known as Tesco Town for nothing
So taking I say make the best of what you have! In my case and that of many others that is using Tesco!
(and inspired by freerange eggs etc I actually found someone locally who sell free range eggs from their own ducks, clucks and geese. whether affordable I don't know yet, think they might be charging more than Tescos!)DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I Sky plussed this week's show and watched it last night, thought it was much better than last week's. I agree with the others who said it was a good advert for Tesco's though. I don't have a Clubcard and actively avoid going to Tesco's because of their plans for world domination
Martin's style was much easier to understand this week, keep up the good work! I'm still not sure about the "celebrity guest" though, I'm not interested in so-called celebrities generally and certainly not bothered about their finances, would much rather see this section done with an ordinary member of the public.
And just a warning about the chickens - if you plan to get some check with your neighbours first. The people who lived in my house before me kept chickens in the back garden, the neighbours complained and they were told by the council to remove them. A similar thing happened with someone who lived near my parents.0
