why were some people in the audience wearing badges? couldnt quite make out what they were of?

  • The badges were name badges for people that were making contributions... they had the logo of a pig flying with the persons name written in yellow.

Gosh this thread is busy tonight!

These are serious topics and should be handled seriously; "Working Lunch" and "Moneybox" have far better formats.
they dont appeal to the average joe though, this should be a lot easier to understand, and as long as the full info is available on the website etc it should help plant MSE ideas into peoples minds

I thoroughly enjoyed the content of tonights show.. except of course me looking less than glam in my old coat cleaning out the hens!!

I have been preaching about this forum for ages but people are always too busy or say things like 'yeah but its too much hassle and paperwork to fill in' so they never claim for things.

Its all different now they can see Martin in the flesh, telling them how easy it is. My daughter's boss rang her after the show wanting to know how to get on to this 'moneysavingexpert site thingy' as she wants to sort out her bank charges. I guess some people just need to be told by a media star!

    Welcome Russ

I would be interested to know how many new people join the site after watching the show. Its a great compliment to Martin that so many people are logging on. Even my dad commented, saying 'he's a clever young man that one' high praise indeed.

I think Martin and Ruth should keep to the pace they did tonight - does the show actually start at 7:30 or 7:25? I tuned in at (what I thought) was just before the start, but they'd already started!
Fortunately I had seen Martin's warning about a 7.25pm start - actual start time about 7.27 and 40 seconds. With the early break I thought initially five were employing the dodge of making the duration just over 30 minutes, so an extra ad break is allowed....

I'd agree that this week's show was more relaxed overall. The drainpipe has gone - good! Still has those name badges (although they looked a bit less tacky). Some nice camera moves - and is that a new position up in the gantry?

Unfortunately the number of dreadful jokes and puns is on the increase! As is the whooping encouragements to the audience. Is that you, Mr Floor Manager Sebastion?

Audience members - when Martin or Ruth start speaking, please stop clapping! In a small studio, even the best sound supervisor in the world will struggle to bring the presenter's audio up enough. So the first sentence from Martin or Ruth is often inaudible
