E2Save Cashback Scam/trick

Peter_Trudgeon wrote: »On the 8th August 2007, I took out a new contract with E2Save. It was a 12 month cashback scheme. The Carphone Warehouse are the main company and I've successfully claimed from them before.
When I took the contract I downloaded the cash back offers calendar and the cashback claim vouchers as recommended by the site. My first claim according to the cashback calendar was month six with further claims months eight, ten and twelve.
Month six has finally arrived. I telephoned E2Save to make sure their month six was the same as mine.(I didn't want to send the wrong bill!) I was informed by the cashback operator that I cannot now claim. When I enquired why, I was informed that I hadn't claimed month four.
I explained that the cashback calendar shows month six. I was then informed that the terms and conditions in font 4/5 that came with the phone states months four, six, eight, ten and twelve, therefore by missing the first one I'm no longer allowed to claim any.
This is an outrageous trick. Am I the only one stupid enough to fall for it. If not has anyone managed to get their money?

u missed one therefore invalidate ur '11 months free' or whatever it is. u cant claim which ever months u feel, or 3/4. its all or nothing. which they tell u before u even buy it!0 -
how is that a trick?? from when ur about to buy the phone it tells u its in 4 stages and what month numberas. then when u buy the phone u receive a booklet also stating how many 'coupons/slips' and how and when to send and the month numbers.

have you logged into your e2save account and looked under your account, double check the cashback deal there, as i posted above the dates are given by them on my deal , is that the same as what you have?Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
Before everyone goes rushing out to follow anything on their on-line account, I recommend you read the threads more thoroughly and check my answer on:-

stolt.... I took out exactly the same deal as you. My contract started on the 21st January. My bill date is the 22nd of each month - so my first bill will be for 1 month and 1 day and presumably is on its way.
The dates on 'My Account' are exactly the same as yours. The 6th bill will be the one that is produced on the 22 June. So it is a matter of waiting for the 22 June bill and sending it off asap recorded delivery. I will then give it a week and then ring the m up to see if they have received it.
On a separate note - make sure you ring 202 and cancel your paper itemised billing. It is available free online. And don't forget to cancel the insurance that E2Save set you up with.
EDIT : I see what you mean mobilejunkie. The T&Cs mean we should send the bill dated 22nd July. I am going to email E2Save to get them to clear it up.0 -

Your 6th bill may be the 22nd June, but you 6 months will not be up until 21st July. Send in your bill dated 22nd July.
Got my phone this morning, very quick, looks like a brand new Nokia, not that I need the phone, but a useful spare.
Incidentally my email link does not work for the claim forms, has anyone else had this problem. I did get some sent with the phone though and some available with my account - no worries.
I see two different cashback addresses as well. I'll use the one on the sent form.

I agree with you Lynsey but the dates they give you in the 'My Account' for sending the claims back i.e. before 31st July (in the summary) do not match their T&Cs (which would be 20th August). Neither do they match the details in my intial email from E2Save after I placed the order i.e.
"To gain the remainder of your line rental / cash back please send your 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th monthly bills within 30 days of the date stated on the relevant airtime bill, to us and we will credit you by cheque with £62.25 each time."
I have emailed them a document (using their online email system) with the 3 different and conflicting sets of information they have provided me with, pointing out the differences in which bill and what the dates for submitting them are in each case and asking them to say which one is correct.
Let's see what happens.0 -
Best of luck. The wording is confusing maybe.
6th monthly bill could be confused as 6th bill I suppose.
My golden rule is to send off my claim on the anniversary of the 6th/8th month etc with my latest bill as long as they can receive it before it's more than 28 days old.

Hi oh so it seems a few of us have taken this deal up, the way i understand and follow the documentation i've got, instalment 1 - you will need to claim 6 months from connection and have 30 days from this date to submit your claim, I signed on the 21st january, so i have to send in the bill that is around the 21st June (and from the 21st I have 30 days to submit my claim to e2save).
On my account it shows ''send month 6 claim between 21st jun 2008 and 31st July 2008''
I always send my claims off via special post with pay for the extra loss involved (its alittle more expensive) but I hope royal mail screw up and mislay my claim and i can claim the whole contract from royal mail... its never happened yet though!!
Lyndsey - my paperwork states 'send month 6 claim' so its got to be the jun bill i get and have to send it to them, maybe I haven't got it right but i cant see how i've got it wrong in my head:rotfl:Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
Best of luck.
