Just got my results back from the health profile www.healthspan.co.uk it is very thorough, very interesting to read, I am deficient on vitamin B5, folate, vitamin E ,copper and sodium should be 2400mg or below, mine is 2635mg and it is recommended I cut down on the salt a lot:D

I think it is brilliant, got loads of ideas how to better my diet, although the survey says that my diet is pretty good but needs a little tweeking;) :D

Well 28 days of sticking to the diet like glue, on Friday I saw the Doctor and he changed my steroids to some different ones (stronger!) to help with the pain and my weight has gone up again , back up to 21 stone again so that is 2.5 pounds up on the week - I wouldn't mind but if I take it from Friday morning (I weighed in before I went to the Doctors), I am now up 7.5 pounds!

Getting so fed up with this - I am doing everything right and nothing is working because of the tablets - I burst into tears this morning when I got on the scales. (sorry turned into a whine post)

And so you should whine and cry and shriek and yell and moan and be angry because if you are doing everything you can possibly do and the docs cannot give you any other tablets that help the problem pain without the gain then I imagine you cannot put into words how desperately frustrating this all is for you, brick wall comes to mind.
I am sure you would have gone down every tablet avenue to see which ones work/don't gain weight/discussed it with your docs, if there really is no other way to reduce the daily pain it is catch 22, I don't know what to say apart from don't cry, head held high, don't let it drag you down, don't give it that pleasure, keep strong;)

It must be so infuriating Dragon. You can moan as much as you like, i know i would. *hugs* to you :)

Emmalis: When i bra fit pregnant ladies i often guess on the sex based on the overall look of the bump ha. Im going to guess girl!

Beanie: Everyday bra about, £12, £14 or £16 for two. Debenhams have got their megaday 20% off thing early march so if you can wait a month then you can save a bit on that. They always have other offers going on too. Also the prices are for A-DD If youre above that then £16 onwards, but really youre looking more £20. I can give you some reccomendations for whatever you need, some staples for the "bra wardrobe" which everyone must have.

Ive thrown out 2 bags of clothes/handbags for the hospice! No wonder i have no room for clothes. I was sooooo rutheless. Just chucked it!

Ive voted for brighton because its closer to get to for a 3 day break. Im excited already and i havent booked a sausage. If anyone lives in brighton and has room for two small ones let me know :p

Wise move vix - Brighton fars outways Portsmouth otherwise I'd have chosen to move to P not B. Sorry I can't pu you up tho: there's 4 of us living here in a two bed house: OH and Use the front bedroom as a bedsit , so no room at the inn. But as for things to see: North laines are Fab, as are 'The' lanes (oldest part of town that fronts on to the see.) The North Laines are the other side of north st and full of indelendent wacky and wonderful shops. Do not bother with Churchill Square - typical Mall and you might as well have stayed at home.
Dragon - have a good wail I say. It is unfair & you need to let off about it. Really gutted for you.
Starlight -sorry life is tough at the mo. We'd love to offer more support if you feel up to posting more often.
Raph - excellent result. Missyg - I know you wanted to sts but you are still at the lower end of your 'acceptable' range. I think staying spot on all the time would be very difficult - natural body rythms/fluctuations and all that. I would understand though you not wanting to put on for a 3rd week in a row - but don't forget, you dropped as low as you did because you were under the weather and not eating properly, so getting back to eating healthily is bound to mean regains the lost weight. Good luck with this week and well done on the ebay profits:T .
I feel very MSE - had to replace elec kettle today and found one reduced as end of line to £4.89 in Argos.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Hi Dragon, I'm new to this board. I have just seen your post and my heart really goes out to you. How frustrating when you've stuck to your diet. I'd be so mad too.
I send you warm hugs to go with all the other hugs from other people on here. xx

  • Dragon, that sounds very frustrating! Hope the medication settles down and doesn't keep causing you to gain. Just hang in there hun :)

Well done on the wardrobe clearout Vix, I did mine just before I started uni in September... Couldn't believe some of the rubbish I found lurking at the bottom! Seriously, school uniforms, old training gear from rugby (I hadn't played for 4 years at the time!), and more pairs of trousers and jumpers that didn't fit me than I even thought I owned! Wardrobe looks a little empty now though... Just looking forward to losing a decent amount of weight so I can go shopping again ;)

Oh - and Brighton was definately a good choice! I love going down there to visit my grandparents, it's lovely :)

Hope everyone is ok. I have been very lazy today, had no uni so just been doing a bit of tidying up, and then curled up with my knitting for most of the afternoon! I love days like that :)

What are you knitting Pixiedust? I wish I could knit but I could never quite pick it up. But I wish I could as it would stop my fingers reaching into the biscuit tin while watching tv. Ha ha.

And very well done to HannaB!!!

And very well done to Raphael, Anic, Starlight also !!!!!

I hate to say it. I have been kidding myself that beng a bit overweight doesn't matter. But when I put those jeans on and they are a little bit tighter than they were before, well, it does matter. I tried the cambridge diet at the beginning of the year, lost a stone in 12 days, and gave up because I was sick of milkshakes, and I know I have put most of it back on :o

I can't afford to buy new clothes!!!! I can commit to 5lb a month loss. Nothing silly. Then by my birthday in July, I will more or less be where I want to be. I will need help at the weekends though. I like drinking wine :rotfl: and that leads to eating chocolate, pizza, toast...

I am going to put it in my sig now so I don't forget....:o
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o
