Missy how about a cinema gift box?
I've just come back from cinema (Cineworld, saw Cloverfield) and they are now selling a medium sized red box, a night out for 2.
It has 2 tickets for film of their choice, some sweeties and popcorn.
I go about twice a week with an unlimited card, so no good for me, but still thought this was a nice little gift at £25.
I'll buy it for someone I'm sure.
Although you did say they were on a diet  ..................
I took and ate a banana today. Had some 'Be good to yourself' popcorn in my bag just in case but didn't need (or even think about) it.
I think Paul McKenna is in my brain well and truly now.
My birthday came and went on friday, went to the travel exhibition at earl's court.
We made up our minds to go to China in September this year, will be booking it with my Tesco CC vouchers later this month.
Had a take away curry on Friday night, had planned to go to an Italian but were shattered when we got home at 7.30.
I enjoyed the curry and there certainly wasn't anything wrong with it, but my tummy bubbled all night, keeping me awake.
I think its because I've been eating plain and simple good for you foods..................
I checked out the best syn value dishes and chose wisely I hope.
We'll see tomorrow at weigh in.
SW combined with Paul McKenna seems to be the right choice of diet for me at the moment, unless of course its just beginners luck?
LLWe are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................0 -
Delly, you sound like you have the patience of a saint! Really... I can't imagine ever doing anything on that scale for anyone else... I'm not a big fan of tidying up and decorating for myself, let alone someone else!! lol.
QT - do you find you have trouble fitting diet around being at uni? I'm back to struggling with lunches again, its ok at breakfast and dinner - I'm on my own then, and will quite happily cook etc. But lunch times tend to be a bit of a social with my group, a lot of going to the pub or up to the uni canteen to eat together, and its starting to feel horribly obvious that I'm the only one of us on a diet - the others are all skinny little things already!! lol
LL, China sounds great, are you looking at anywhere particular or travelling around a bit? It's somewhere that's on my (getting very long) list of places I want to go, but everything like that is on hold until I finish uni now!**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -
WI for me tomorrow, I'm a bit worried about the take-away pizza I had at the beginning of the week. Also I've been feeling really bloated, but I don't know if it's cos I'm full of bananas & fatsumos. :undecided Also I think I'm coming up to my TOTM. Fingers crossed for me.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

bails you will be pleased to know I am surrounded by scraps of paper with half writen thoughts about why I make the food choices, why I choose to 'pig out' how it will affect the future etc all very analytical, work in progress but when it is all looking like the solution has been reached I will post the verdict!!
:jThat's so wonderful Victory, I really hope it's helping you. I look forward to hearing how you get on. Which reminds me, have you used your book yet Pet?
Missy, thanks for the well done, but I have spent way more than £505 this month - that's just the things that's included in the 4k challenge! Just got your email so I'll reply properly tonight or tomorrow xx
Delly, you are indeed being an angel and stick your two fingers up to the SiL - my mum has a sister like that, who does nothing but critcise everyone and everything, without lifting a finger to help!
Wow, China - that was part of our Asia trip, now on holdone day... (still got the money in a separate pot
). I'm really proud of the saving I've been doing so far this year - I was good before but I'm really battening down the hatches without losing quality of life, and it's already giving me more freedom :j I can happily pay for the decorating stuff without worrying about where the money will come from, and know that it will add value to my house. There's cetainly no downturn in the property market here yet...

Bargain babe - good luck with focussing on doing sw 'properly'. It really need to be followed to the letter to give it a fair try. Don't forget you must have you HEa's and b's - it's all part of the magic formula.
Doing baby steps de-cluttering today missyg and bails, de-clutterer's supremo.
Delly - let off steam as much as you like - you offer us peeps plenty of support and it's good to be able to offer it back. I can't help but add to the sainthood labelling. Sorry all this work has casued you to veer off track ww wise, when you've been doing so well. Still lets see what your weigh in says first.
Struggling not to comfort eat today. Finished off the bourbons. Emergency lge bowl of linguine with HEb of cheese means this now has to be a green day and can't think of a green evening meal that doesn't involve anymore cheese.
missyg - I thought of something gardeningy for your retiring friend, or a year's subscrption to a magazine (exploring family history, or something you know would interest her.)
pixie - is baked potato a lunch time option?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hiya guys!
Im getting a lot of ear abuse from my boyfriend who wants to do xbox live but cant get it to work! Hes gunna lose it in a minute!
Went to leeds castle today! Havent been there in years but it was really good. Bloody cold though! we then went to a nice country pub to have some chips (nothing too big cos were going out to dinner tonight!) Been a good day.
Weightloss is out the window though, been having major cravings for chocolate and fat in general. Although todays walking up hills and stuff has hopefully worked all the fat off!
better go help boyfriend with wireless!0 -
BB, jacket spuds are an option, I just kinda object to the prices at uni... But it might be worth looking at, especially with it being so damn cold in the studios at the moment! I'll have a proper nosy at whats on the menu in there tomorrow, might be something on there that I can fit into the points allowances without too much fiddling around
Vix, your day sounds great - but stressed and arguing with computer type boyf is never a good thing! Take the controller away before he manages to do himself any damage
Feels like I've been very lazy today, been hunched over my laptop doing design work ready for assessments - got about 10 days til due date, but I have a friend coming to stay with me next weekend, so want to have as much done as possible by then! Will have to take myself out for a walk in a bit, get myself some air and out of this room for a while!**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**0 -
Hi all, especially the new thread members, just thought I'd check in for the weekend, and what a busy weekend!!
We saw OH's twins yesterday as the contact arrangements are still the same ofonce a month until we got to court:mad: It's their birthday Wednesday so we had a great time with presents etc and a piece of birthday cake:o In laws were with us for the visit and in memory of Nanny we had fish and chips:eek: so a really good day for my diet ...not!!
We've spent all day at Nanny's house today preparing it for Wednesday and the funeral I've spent most of the day with my hands in a washing up bowl or with a tea towel in it! but the four of us have cleaned the house from top to bottom, got rid of lots of toot in the process I've accumulated a small collection of proper old style tupperware which I'm dead pleased with but OH is despairing as we have got a lot to sort out here already lol!
I had all the ingredients for a nice healthy meal sorted but got overuled as others didn't want me to cook so they plumped for a chinese:eek: all that lovely MSG fat and carbs on top of the fish and chips!!
Thankfully one of the takeaways in town is shut for a 2 week holiday and the other didn't open till 6pm and FIL couldn't wait that long lol as they hoped to get home wich means we ended up with a kebab - a nice healthy chicken shish with mounds of salad for me:D think i'll have a go on the cross trainer tonight and see if I can work off at least two of last nights chips.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -
Ok fitnessy types....what are good excercises for targeting hips and thighs?
Had a thoroughly depressing weekend all in all although hats off to those who are dealing with real problems...they did put my weekend moans into perspective...I hope everything works out for everyone in the long run.
Still got a cold so I'm going to do half an hour of work and then take myself off for a supremely early night...0 -

We've been using a resistance band at RC, doing squats and leg stretches using it.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0
