Why do people do this!!! I keep trying to remeind myself that next time OH dementor starts with the sentance...'I know I shouldn't say this dear' I should stop her right there with 'then please don't!
Pooh thanks very much for the meat advice. What about, say, uncooked chicken piecesI want to store in portions of two: do you think an air tight container would be alright for them?

Big welcomes to suzyQ and mumsy:do join in:j .
Got a bit too cosy with a packet of bourbons today...might try and chuck the other half of the packet i f I can get it out of OH's protective custody.Every time I get on the scales in the morning I'm still maintaining which amazes me. (That's not an official weigh in granny)
Good luck on moday re your meds pet - I certainly found an agressive medic very intimadating, and it's made a difficlt situation worse, so you have my sympathy. Thanks for sharing your tale delly. And the info re the patients thingy. Have taken note of it. I'm fairly sure now I'm going to ask to see someone else - I feel too vulnerable as it is coping with the formal diagnosis and I need someone one on my side who actually allows me to ask questions rather than 'I'm the dr here and your an irrelevance to the equation' approach. I'm still shocked I allowed her to speak to me as she did. And she won't brook any questions about the drug she want to put me on, even though last time I was on it I lost a 3rd of my hair!
Nice day at the afternoon bit of the conference. Tired now and a bit weepy again so probably best off to bed. A new day tomorrow. No snow at all here, just blazing sunshine
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Well, the mens team may have been rubbish, but England ladies won against Wales ladies! Wooo!

And I haven't had any snow either... Keep sulking when friends send me messages telling me how cold and snowy it is where they live... I want snow! :(

I'm getting ready for a bit of a push on the diet next week - I am going to Berlin with uni, leave in 2 weeks time - would really like to be able to have lost another 5lbs by then so I'll still be on target... Not sure if it's really doable, but I'll feel better about it if I've at least made an effort!
**"Cheer up, it could get worse" - I cheered up, and look, it got worse!**

victory - I would ignore that horrible woman's opinion if I were you, you should be proud of your wonderful achievement....

As for the phrase " I hope you're not offended but" or "I'm sorry but..." Reminds me of a saying by Dr. Phil McGraw, who maintains that if you punctuate a sentence with but it means - Ignore everything I've just said before the word but I'm really going to tell you what I think afterwards.

My MiL's favourite saying is "I'm sorry but" Some day, I'm going to call her on it and say, you're not sorry, cos if you were, you wouldn't say/think/do it... so don't apologise for something you're not sorry for.

pixie - good luck with the big push for the next 2 weeks. Stay focused and keep your food diary!

almost forgot that I'm meant to be following a weight loss program on here - I've been so busy with the house from hell that I've only counted my points on Thursday and Friday.

I've had a horrible week diet wise this week and I'll be lucky if I get to STS when I go for my WI on Monday. I ate a huge pile of rubbish last night and another pile tonight cos OH and I had a row over his dad's house. The stupid MAN was meant to clear out the room that the plasterer was working in but left the sofa in it and blinds up and other bits and pieces.- all because the guy said he'd work around them... Yep - he did, and over them and under them, and now they're covered in plaster and dust and I've had to strip the covers from the sofa and bring them home with me to wash and try and get some crud off it.

His dad's good leather sofa was in the back room thank goodness but you couldn't expect a workman to paint or paper around them - he hadn't stacked them on top of one another or covered them or anything so I went bonkers when I called in this morning. OH was fairly philosophical about the entire thing until I pointed out that it's unlikely that he'd be cleaning either the floor or sofa in the front room or the sofa in the back room..... it'd be me, mostly because I'm fussy and want the job done properly..... I really don't want my personal dementor to have much to say about anything that's been done to the house whilst they've been away on holidays. Even the thought of her is sucking the good will and happiness out of me as I type. And I'd had such a restful couple of months not having to second guess what she'd be at next.

Oh is understandably resentful about the entire thing - he's used 1/4 of his annual leave trying to get the !!!!!! heap sorted out and is fed up looking at the house. I've used 3/5 days that I'd had remaining of my annual leave entitlement. I had been hoping to carry it across to next year but it is there to be used at the end of the day. Hopefully all of the work will be finished by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

OH was looking to book the carpet fitter for Thursday but I've asked him to put it off till next Monday (OH is meant to be on night shift that night so I've told him to get his sister to let the man into the house and make sure he's paid - it's the bl00dy least she can do) so that I can have a good whack at getting the plaster off the floor (I'm cacking it cos it's an expensive quickstep floor - about the only thing the dementor ever spent any money on) It's been down for a good 12 years and it's still as good as new up until now and I really don't want it ruined. I don't want the new carpet ruined with plaster dust being tracked all over it either.

I should probably go over to the OS forum and ask if anyone has any ideas of the quickest/cleanest ways of removing plaster from wooden/laminate flooring.

Sorry about the rant/really long post but I have to devalve somewhere and if I even try to mention it to my OH he huffs and all I get from my mum is "I told you so..."
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Hi everyone, I know its after midnight, but this is the life of a student, hope you are all having great weekends thus far!

victory- S!, un poco, estoy aprendo a hablar español en la Universidad, que significar ‘ya esta’- she’s here??

Thanks raphael, I have got the kitchen scales already thanks for the help though!
  • Hugs to Delly and Victory - sounds like you need them xx

I am being so good this weekend, decided to give it 110% this week and see if sw really works! I just hope I'm not eating too much (all free food) but it still seems a lot, so I feel a bit of a piggy. I've just had scrambled egg, tomatoes and bacon (trimmed of fat) and feel quite content, but fancy a yoghurt! I'll wait a while. This all feels so wrong, but good all the same. I don't think I've ever done it this properly, day 3 of the new me!!!

I know that I will be absolutely gutted if I weigh in on Thursday and haven't lost or even put on weight! I just have that horrible feeling. Still I am writing it all down so I know I'm following the plan to the letter.

Sorry for going on guys, hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

    Take care all x
