Morning all
Exciting day today, all my ebay auctions are ending later! I have almost £100 worth of bids already which was my target so anything more is a bonus! I'm absolutely delighted with that, £100 goes a long way in my household!
Beanielou - A while ago when we were talking about winter coats, I think someone did mention that when your body is cold it burns off more calories? It's probably not a good idea to venture out in your shorts just yet though
Bails, how's it going with the decorating this weekend? All the woodchip gone yet? (Nightmare stuff).
Poohbear, you have 'real' skiing locally to you? How fabulous! I'm desperate to get out on the snow... dry slope isn't cutting it at all. Thank you very much for the detailed food freezing information
Delly, the good karma could come from anywhere, not necessarily the people you did the favour for! I have to say it would be absolutely shocking if they are ungrateful after everything you've put yourself through for them... and you have done extremely well with the price too. I hope you have scheduled in some time to rest (as best you can when you have a little one) after this. The phrase "i'm sorry but" is another one of my bugbears, just like "i've only lost 1lb"!
Victory, "happy" with the gain isn't the word I would use, but I am comfortable enough that I know how to get it back off again! I have a feeling my maintaining is going to be like this, a bit on a bit off all the time rather than a true STSHmm, looks like we have found the next victim for the happy slapping wombles after they have finished with BB's rudematologist. What a rude woman! Good for you for you reaction, although I bet you thought of some choice comebacks afterwards
BB, hugs to you for your situation. Let us know how you get on. If you do have to see the same person again all I can suggest is taking someone with you, she might ease up a bit if she is outnumbered
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday and a good week ahead. I am looking for suggestions for what to buy as a present for a female who's retiring, if anyone has any bright ideas in the £20-£30 sort of range? She is on a diet!0 -
victory- S!, un poco, estoy aprendo a hablar español en la Universidad, que significar ‘ya esta’- she’s here
No, ya esta means is that the only thing? as in can you write it and that is it? ella esta is she is here, ya esta means that is it.:D
Yo hablo perfectamente el espanol porque estuve viviendo en espana para 15 anos y estuve en el colegio ahi;)
Hi peeps, going to cook paella this evening because I feel in a spanish mood, going to do it very much WW style so that means it will taste blooming awful and will get thrown out:rotfl: :rotfl: I did think of doing one the traditional way with the olive oil, fish etc and another one for me healthy way but can't be bothered so they are all having the WW way but one of them does not even like rice so there is that I am cooking and another dinner for the little one and all this and it is not even lunch time:rotfl:
Having beans on toast for lunch, seems to be my latest thing:D0 -
Victory hugs hugs and more hugs to you .... Mrs Nasty from Nastyland is just jealous.
to her.
Delly speaking as a selfish c*w, which I really truly am, I cannot believe the trouble you're taking for your FiL. You are amazing and wonderful.to you.

Hi there
Mumzy Good luck with starting WW. I do hope it goes well.
Victory I will just count calories and try to eat healthily but I do need to increase my exercise as I do very little as I have a desk job. So I have dusted the cobwebs off my exercise bike and intend to do a little in the evening when I watch the soaps. But it is a chore to be honest. How do you find WW? (Hope paella turns out nice).
missyg Just a thought for your friend but how about a voucher for a beauty salon, and then your friend can choose a beauty treatment such as manicure or massage. Just a thought.
Good luck to you all for this coming week. I am hopeless at sticking to eating plans but at least looking at this board means I'm not in the kitchen! xSealed Pot Challenge No. 9140 -

I cook the Rosemary Conley Paella recipe - it is so good that the first time I cooked it in September 07 it reminded us of many happy holidays in Spain - that we ended up booking a holiday to Spain this year. First holiday for soooooo long, can't wait.
Paella Recipe
Serves 4
Per serving
419 calories, 8.6g fat
2 good pinches saffron strands (cheap to buy from Ebay)
2 skinless chicken breasts, cubed
1 large onion, finely diced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
225g Arborio risotto rice (although I tend to use Paella rice)
600ml vegetable stock (I use oxo)
450g prepared seafood (eg squid, octopus, prawns) (Waitrose do a nice frozen 450g packet of mixed seafood)
225g cod fillet (I use frozen)
115g frozen peas
450g cleaned mussels (I prefer fresh, but have used the Waitrose ones in sauce and thrown the sauce away)
freshly ground pepper
lemon wedges to garnish
- Place the saffron strands in a little boiling water for 5 mins to infuse
- Heat a large non-stick pan and dry fry the chicken until lightly coloured. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Add the onion and garlic to the pan and dry fry until soft.
- Add the rice, vegetable stock and infused saffron to the pan, stirring well. Bring to a gently simmer for 10 mins and then add the chicken and continue cooking until the rice is almost done.
- Add the prepared seafood, cod and frozen peas, and stir well. Add a little more stock if all the existing stock has been absorbed.
- Arrange the mussels on top and cover with a lid. Cook for 4-5 mins until all the mussels have opened.
- Sprinkle with back pepper and garnish with lemon wedges.
Good luck with your meal tonight - hope it does taste good.

Afternoon all!
Missy, this is for you - check out my sig now! :j:j:j Well done on Ebay, I've only got 99p on my trainers so far, I really hope they go up! I agree, the voucher sounds a great idea. The woodchip is gone in that room, only the rest of the house to go  Everything (and I mean everything, even the cats, one of who has a dust allergy:eek:) is covered in dust from the sanding, despite having blocked up the door etc. Hopefully Dad will finish that today so I can dust. I hate not being able to sand it myself but he won't let me near the machine; guess I should be grateful that he cares and is happy to do it for me.
Victory, why not make the paella the normal way and see what happens? If you don't enjoy your food once you're WWed it, then what's the point?? You can keep everything else WW for the rest of the week, just do this one recipe normally.
Grannynise, I love the mooning smiley, ha ha!
I'm really enjoying following the Spanish conversation - I've never learnt but can understand it, how cool is that!
Hope you're all having a great afternoon xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Thanks everyone, for your kind words and thoughts - I'm not looking for good karma or even gratitude out of this, My OH volunteered us to do it and I just want to make sure that it's done right. My Sunday has been pretty restful all in all, OH is at work so I'm here with DS who currently loves Monsters Inc. I've just started mount ironing (minus jeans, sweatshirts and clothes we only wear around the house) and rewarded myself with 5 mins on t'internet before I start the next basket load..... however, to disturb my peace and tranquility - SiL has now said she thinks that the paper we've chosen is too fussy. (this coming from a girl who'd have her dad's house looking like a curry house but papered in Aubergine and chocolate if she could). .. I said, it's too late, the workmen are putting it up tomorrow and you weren't there when we were choosing it so TOUGH! If the oul g!t doesn't like it he can paint over it or rip it down for all I care - I'll simply withdraw my presence and that of my son from their disfunctional family.
See what I mean about taking away all the good will? Off to change DS's db and tackle some more ironing......Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Thanks ff for the recipe very much appreciate it, off to cook in a bit:D
missyg no, sts is never easy;) thank Got for WW I say
gs thanks for the hugs, honestly not bothered about the woman's comment, I am me, me is good end of, :rotfl: :rotfl: I am not so sure she meant it as it came out, it still makes me giggle though:rotfl: I get worse than that from my mother so her comment means nothing but fun:D
bails you will be pleased to know I am surrounded by scraps of paper with half writen thoughts about why I make the food choices, why I choose to 'pig out' how it will affect the future etc all very analytical, work in progress but when it is all looking like the solution has been reached I will post the verdict!!
suzy I find WW just fine for me, the best of the others I have tried, I know I am properly taking care of myself, well fed nutritionally balanced, none of these faddy diets for me anymore, I love my veg, hot lemon to drink or hot bovril, love the ready meals they make although cottage pie in quorn is fav at the mo, got all the recipe books and cook loads of fresh meals from there, the yogs are delicious, you can get meats, desserts, anything and everything in WW products at the supermarket which makes it very simple to follow the points and stick to them.
ajax went to asda to get the hotpot and htey had sold out so still waiting to try it, sainsburys and waitrose do not sell it. Got loads more cottage pie xx

Hi Suzy-Qu, Beanie, Bails! Beauty voucher is a great idea, although that's what she got me for Christmas (haven't used it yet)
I think I may still go with it though, you can't really go wrong with that
Bails, over £1k savings already! :T And only £505 spent, you are doing far better than me - I might have to be in touch and show you my numbers to see where I can do more! I'll be updating my sig tomorrow
Ebay is going well, up to £135 now but I am beginning to dread the post office visit!
Foodwise I've been good today, toast for brekkie, jacket spud with beans and a little cheese for lunch, and probably sliced peaches for tea. Nowt else, yes it's under 1,000 cals but I have been a pig this week and even after today the average for the week is about 1,450 a day! :eek:0
