Hey everyone!! Hope you are all well!

victory- that is nice, enough spanish for me....i am not that great, which part of spain did you live in? (hoping you didn't already say...). I love spanish, I just can't really dedicate as much time to it as I would like to seeing as its my final year! I am going Dom Rep in June so that should give me a chance to conversate.

pixiedust- I feel exactly the same way re: lunch and food in general around my m8s, they are all skinny and I am not exaggerating, my housemates are models, but they still eat all the crap and stay like that, if I eat a burger it seems like I put on half a stone..lol. I think best thing, if you are not all going out for lunch is to obviously do a packed lunch- sandwich, fruits or a salad... and if you are going out, try the jacket potatoes with no butter as BB said.

Well done Mumzy for resisting the chocies, I get cravings as well, but it is like all the time! I felt like some chocies yesterday but instead, I ate a pack of quavers- i think it only had 87 cals, so not that bad- someone on here recommended it, I hadn't eaten them for decades.

The most annoying thing is that my friends continually tell me that I am not overweight and that I look fine, after I know what I look like, the BMI saying I am obese! and my doctor telling me that the cause of my chest pains is because I am overweight! So they probably all think I am going mad now, I thought I would try something today and make a sort of chicken caesar salad for lunch, the response I got was some weird looks from my m8ts, next thing I am gonna hear is they are sitting me down and telling me that they are concerned...bless them they mean well, but I just need them to be honest with me and realise that I am trying to lose weight for my health and so that I am more comfortable with my body...rant over!!

No it isn't, also today everyone was ordering pizza I thought I would be strong, as I know if I ate it I would go over my allowance, I am happy to stay I stuck my ground, despite almost being forced to eat it, later on i found out that one slice of pizza could have almost 300 calories in it, there are leftovers so hopefully it doesn't get into my mouth between today and tommorrow..l

Also I was shocked yesterday to see that Peach slices in the tin, have 240 cals and 57.4g of sugar- shocking!! I still eat half a can though, I hope that aint too bad, because normal fruit goes off to quick!

Ok..this is getting a bit long now..still have coursework to do, so probably won't get to post till late tommorrow night, have a good monday everyone!

    QT xx

    Morning all,

Just chalking up another 2lb loss for the week. Well chuffed, I thought I was heading for another gain.

I took my "second day of the month diet" photographs on Saturday, one from the front and one from the side. After only a 6lb loss, I can't say that I can see too much of a difference yet between the 2nd Jan pics and the 2nd Feb pics. I guess a 6lb loss when you're 10st would have more of an impact visually than when you start at 14st 5lbs. Inside myself, though I do feel a lot less bloated and "ergh!".

I treated myself to a new pair of workshoes yesterday for all my effort this month. Not worn 3 inch heals for a while, I forgot what it was like to be 5'11''. Lol!

Only 12 more weeks until my spa day and my grand appearance in the swimming costume!!!
Please continue to hold the line. Your call is very important to us and will be answered by next available robot...

Hannab: Congratulations! Wish i had your overall willpower, motivation and weight loss! 3 inch heels? eek! All of my heels are like an inch apart from one pair a bought that are well high for me! They blimming hurt though! I prefer being short sometimes, probably doesnt do me any favours but if i put my big heels on that would make me about 5' 6 and im close to my boyfriends height then and i dont like it.

Anyway, had a lovelly meal out last night. I had breaded mushrooms, steak and chips followed by a shared ice cream to finish. We were in a quiet cubby hole in this old stlye pub next to a radiator! nice. We had a pea fight because we could :p Naughty i know :p Then we finished off the day with some nice calorie burning fun time! Being bloated isnt much of an aphrodisiac!

Boyfriend got the wireless going, its excellent! Got a months free so later today im going to have a crafty go on it again. Its soo good. Can here the americans talking and youre all just hardcore shooting each other. Its fun! Brings out the boy nerd in me.

What would be better: Brighton or portsmouth? (for a 3 day break)

Hi Guys - Well done everyone.

Thank you all for your well wishes about the baby. i spoke to the midwife last tuesday evening & she's not coming out to see me until 14th. She did my scan referral over the phone so should hopefully get a letter in the next coupla days with the dates on.

I will be your guinea pig. So far i've only managed to pile on 2lbs which is not bad cos I've been picking as I have morning sickness this time round & as i didn't get it all last time round we think its a boy this time. I'm already starting to get a little bit of a bump. My saggy bit at the bottom of my belly is not sagging now it is quite firm & in line with the rest of my tummy.

Spent most of yesterday on the sofa with my feet up under a duvet as I couldn't get warm & my bump was a bit achy. Mum & Dad came round yesterday & laid a carpet in my bedroom & mum cleaned my house for me so bonus!!

Oh & the 1 1/2 inches I lost round my bust has reappeared along with another 1/2 inch.

OH home today as DD decided not to go to bed till 11.30 last night then was up again at 4.00am came into bed with us & pushed OH out of bed & hurt his back.

Got to go now & make lunch take care emxx
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

Hello everyone, I'm weighing in with a 1lb gain this week. Can't help feeling I got off lightly there after last week (and with TOTM too) :p I now weigh 8st 1lb, BMI20, waist is just under 25 inches, body fat 21 so it's all feeling pretty good despite the gain and I hope to have a healthier week this week! :D

Had a big result on ebay last night, the clearout stuff went for £239 in the end and I was only hoping for £100! My challenge to spend £5k less this year than last year is well on track too, I am loving seeing this extra money getting banked!

Thank you everyone who offered suggestions for the retirement present, much appreciated. BB the family history idea is the perfect one - I don't know how many times she has said she wants to do it but "doesn't know where to start" so the perfect gift really was staring me in the face the whole time!!! :D

Serendisglair, not sure about exercising for hips & thighs as I'm more into targetting the waist, but I can't recommend cycling enough for getting the thighs into shape! When I needed more ideas for stomach exercising I bought a DVD that focused on just that area.

QT2006, I've had the "you don't need to lose weight" line right from the start. I don't know why but the people around me weren't concerned when I was overweight, but now that I am on the low end of "normal/healthy" a couple of people are freaking out  What tinned peaches are you having? Sainsburys peach slices in fruit juice are 90kcal and 20.6g sugars (less than 0.1g saturated fat) per half tin, Tescos are a little lower but I don't have one to hand.

Vix, I'm sure you'd have a great time in either Brighton or Portsmouth! Toss a coin, do one now and the other one another time! I think you will get a few votes for Brighton on here though ;)

Emmalis, thanks for the update, sorry to hear about the morning sickness and aches though. Hope you are otherwise keeping well xx

Good luck to everyone still to weigh in, hope you all have a great week too.

Hi all. It's good to be able to read the thread every day - I did miss it while I was away. I may not be a major poster but I do like to keep up with every one and report in on how I am doing. I find that a weekly weigh in gives me structure that I otherwise wouldn't have and my DH or mother just don't seem to be the same as telling you guys how I have done.

My nest problem is knowing when to stop trying to lose weight and move on to maintenance. I never really started this journey with a definite target and gradually my holiday become the goal - well that and my wedding dress fitting me again after 5+ years which it may well do now (can't try it on until early March when I go back to my parents' house). The thing is that I think that I shoudl stop trying to lose weight when I like what I see in the mirror, but i am starting to think that I will never like what I see in the mirror but that doesn't mean i should continue to lose weight. At the end of the day, what I actually weigh is arbitrary if I still feel that I am too fat - right? or not? So should i aim for x stone y or should I aim for a size z. I just don't know the answer...
