well all, I'm going back to class tonight, so I will let you know how I get on.
Missy, I don't actually remember what anyone wore to my dads funeral, I was just glad people came, so don't worry, the others are right in what they say.
Vix, still sounds like loads of work, glad you've enjoyed your rest.
I am shopping after going to SW and I must chuck out anything fattening, or else give it to the kids!, because I am rubbish if its in the cupboards! I can't believe I still have xmas stuff lying around.
No real news on the home front, spoke to the Loss adjusters, who say it takes 7-10 days just to get valuations in, I am not too bothered, a good friend lent me a TV and comp screen, but my daughters are upset about their ds's and christmas presents that went, I had brought the oldest one of those media players that I saw on the grabbit thread and I don't think it can be replaced. Will just have to wait and see.
Anyway, I'll speak soon, take care all, thanks granny for the chart, (and well done - I don't think I could do it) Well done to everyone xIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Thank you for the help about the funeral dress code. I've always had more suitable clothes in my wardrobe before so this is the first time it's been an issue. Thanks again xxx
Now I've had the rant about the 1lb losses I will be scouring posts for anyone who devalues them again, so watch out
Brilliant Victory! You know you feel better right now than if you had 'gone for it' today!!! Just a few hours to go!6 weeks in Spain, how lucky are you! Is that a regular thing?
Starlight :rotfl: at the WW thing. Reminds me of when I signed up to Tesco diets and it said something like "your BMI is 23, over the next few weeks we aim to get you to BMI 23". I was like, hmm, OK then!
Bargain Babe thanks for the update. Hope everything goes OK with replacing the stuff. I hate that this sort of thing happens
Well it's the big ebay listing day so I'll be getting my 84 () listings up shortly. My son has had a sort out of some of his games, it's been difficult explaining to him that they are not going to fetch the kind of prices we originally paid for them!
Have a good evening everyone x0 -
Hey all, I didn't log on yesterday, all these early mornings caught up with me.
Thanks for the chart Granny, although I'm confused.
I gained 0.2 lbs in the first week, and lost 4.2 lbs this week so I've lost a total of 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks, however the chart is showing as a total loss of just 2.6 lbs. Am I just reading it wrong??
Keeping up with my fruit & veg, today I had...
Breakfast ~ Asda Branflakes with fruit & nuts.
Snack ~ 2 bananas
Lunch ~ Jacket potato & beans, 1 pear, 1 tangerine
Snack ~ 1 tangerine, 1 banana
Dinner ~ Scrambled eggs & beans on toast.
The only problem with all the fruit is its making me really windy:rotfl: thou that's more of a problem for the others around me!

Hi raphael - you posted a gain of 1.4lbs on Mon 7th Jan and a gain of 0.2 lbs on Monday 14th and this week you lost 4.2lbs. I think you've forgotten about the 1st gain:o .(I've still got of a copy of the chart for the 3 weeks in Jan I did it...) Hope this explains it - sorry if this is disappointing overall, but focus on having turned your self around with a brilliant loss and keeping up the good work after the frustration of the 0.2 gain.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
missyg I totally agree with what everyone else has said about your clothes for the funeral, they sound smart and I certainly could not tell you what other people were wearing at funerals I have attended. So long as you are not wearing something scruffy or disrespectful the family will just be pleased you took the time to attend.
However, if you wanted a cheap smart suit Matalan do a black one the jacket is £14 and the trousers £9, they go down to a size 8. I have been wearing these to work as I need to look smart but did not want to buy expensive suits until I have finished shrinking. Mind you, now that I have joined the £4k for a year challenge I think I will stick with them a bit longer.
If you don't sell your son's games on Ebay, you can list for free on Play.com and Amazon and you can get quite good prices if they are in good condition and you put a nice detailed description. (Sorry for wandering a bit OT).
Good points regarding the 1lb weekly weight loss, the majority of mine has been 1lb and 2lb losses.

Hi all, I put 1.5lbs on this week, but I'm not surprised as I'm currently doubled up in pain with stomach cramps. Also I've started a running plan on my treadmill, so am convinced the extra weight is flab turning to muscle, which weighs heavier!!! All in all I've lost 2.5lbs this month now, so am pretty happy if I can get the 1.5 lbs back off next week - if I'm lucky I'll hit 2.5lbs to get my 5lbs loss in for the month!
I've just read the posts about funeral dress - personally I think just being there is far more important than what you wear. My great uncle's funeral was last Friday and I noticed some of the younger children came in jeans which I though was ok. My GU was a young 86, as was my grandad and all his other brothers (there were 6 in total), we're a pretty big family who don't manage to get together as often as we would like, so even on sad occasions like these we look forward to getting together and reminicising. I wore black trousers, a black, grey & white print dress and a long white/cream coat & scarf. Strange thing was whilst we were sitting in the church during the first service (we then had a second one at the crematorium) there was a peacock butterfly flying around the church (a butterfly in January???) and twice it came and landed on my knee...
Well done all losers & maintainers, and keep going those who didn't manage it this week, there is always next week!

Hi, I think it was Denbo who asked about WW online. I joined mid november, paid £40 with so many good intentions. I use it occasionally to look things up and enter my weight. I've actually lost more in January since joining this thread than I have on WW online. Don't get me wrong, it is very good and all the information you need is at your fingertips. It's just the not being weighed by someone else. I'm even thinking of rejoinging WW, tonight in fact to give me a kick up the butt! I'm sure I read somewhere that if you join a meeting you get 2 free weeks online, not sure where I read it but I'm sure I did. Also, if you google weight watchers there are loads of sites relating to weight watchers by members/past members that have the info on.
Have waffled sorry!!
Thanks for the info, with my daughter's kind help I signed up to WW online for 3 months, I just need reminding of points etc, last time I was at WW was about 15 years ago, things have changed! I'm hoping this will give me some fresh enthusiasm and a weight loss next week! Tonight I was fed up and ate 3 peices of toast, butter and marmite, then I read how many points that was so won't do it again. (Was yummy tho):o0 -

6 weeks in Spain, how lucky are you! Is that a regular thing?
I used to live in Spain with my parents for 20 years then came back to the UK for love, ah:D been here ever since but mum still lives there and I miss it desperately, my friends all still live there (spaniards are not keen on travelling far!!) so to me it is like going home, I went last year for 6 weeks first time ever, normally just 2 weeks but rented a flat near my mum, kids loved it it was fantastic and been offered another flat this year even cheaper so snapped my friends hand off, now having awful trouble getting a cheap flight:D anyone been on ryaniar in their terms and conditions it says you pay £3 to check in each, £6 a bag and then £12 for the next bag:eek: adding £45 more to pay at the airport, it is them or easyjet where at least they say it like it is at the confirm and pay stage and there is no more to pay than that.
I have made it, today could have been a bad day but through hard work from me, keeping ultra busy, refusing to feel lousy tomorrow I have made it and darn pleased I am:D tomorrow for me now is going to be just fine, prevention is better:D
I can go to bed happy;)0 -

Oh yes yummy, being fed up, bored is my downfall, must always keep busy otherwise the toast gets it:rotfl: :rotfl: was it white bread? Love it:D yes the points are high in white bread but try nimble/WW bread, wholemeal /brown much better than white:D0 -
