QT, I'm a fussy eater too, I'm allergic to a lot of fruit and I don't care much for green veg so I struggle to get the 5 a day. The rest of my diet is fine, it's just that one area. I take a good multi vitamin each day and try my best with the fruit & veg that I do eat. I don't drink alcohol or tea and coffee, or smoke and I get lots of exercise so I just hope it makes up for this area of my diet which I know is lacking a bit. In what way are you a fussy eater?

    Morning all,

missyg- the outfit sounds fine for a funeral, don't worry, it's true as Suggs said it is better to attend than not!

I don't think I can list all the food that i am intolerant to or don't like, but I give you a taster:
no dried fruit, raisins, sultanas, cheeries, eggs, baked beans, red kidney beans, spinach, sprouts, carrots, tuna- no tinned fish, yam, green banana, ackee (caribbean food), i only eat chicken breast (no other part of the chicken) and loads more that I can't think of now!

I know I am a pain in the butt!!

missyg at my sisters funeral there were a few people in dark jeans and sweaters - they apologised and said it was their only dark clothing and we said that it didn't matter as we were glad they were there for us.

  • missg: I don't think anyone in my family would deliberatelywear black to a close family member funeral - my mum certainly doesn't believe in it. I think as long as you are smart (and perhaps not wearing an hawaiian shirt:D ) then you'll be fine - particularly wih a dark coat. I think greys and whites would be just as 'dignified'. And well said re the 'only 1lb loss': most of my weight loss was made up of 1lbs and like you said, it all adds up over time, The thing we have to remember is that the weight went on slowly so needs to come off slowly to be healthy and sustainable. We just want it gone yesterday once we've made the decision. Lol re making the monthly challenge the moment you start to maintain!!
Thanks petrichor - I want to stay away from the maintainers jus for a wee while (and I missed you off the list!!! :o ) while I find out what's happening weight wise as I recover. Am still pretty immobile and sleeping alot so am not sure what my current weight reflects. I don't want to put myself under pressure to stick to current weight if that isn't where it naturally balances out once things are back to normal. Hopefully by the March challenge I'll be ready.
Kpc - yes I agree, men can be funny creatures, gawd bless 'em. Mine OH would run a mile if I organised any form of celebration for a significant birthday this year. And when delly was explaining to ajax that her DH just wouldn't walk the dog, end of, this rang total bells - my OH has been lovely and supportive during my illness, but, however starving or incapcitated I was, would not cook dinner! That's just off his radar of skills to conquer. And he isn't a male chauvanist, far from it and happily wipes up evey time I've thrown up, but cooking dinner. Nope. I shall have to give him some basic cooking lessons when I am better and build a menu of things he can do.
Thanks justmarried and Suggs -so suggs, tomorrow, if you lose weight are we NOT to congratualte you becasue you are aiming to maintain?:D
Well that's worn me out. Got to lie down again now!!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Missy, at the funeral last week, lots of people weren't wearing suits etc - your coat will look smart enough definitely. I too don't side with the black side of things but did wear black out of respect for James and family. His wife wore a white coat though. It's far more important that you're there than what you wear.
I really apprecaite what you said about losing a lb - it's easy to get caught up in wanting to lose it all NOW and forgetting just what an achievement every pound is, so thanks for that.
Sorry peeps, not up to posting any more at the mo but I am reading all your posts and am with you in spirit. Well done BB on SOTW and I think your approach to maintaining is v sensible. Take care all x

Hi, I think it was Denbo who asked about WW online. I joined mid november, paid £40 with so many good intentions. I use it occasionally to look things up and enter my weight. I've actually lost more in January since joining this thread than I have on WW online. Don't get me wrong, it is very good and all the information you need is at your fingertips. It's just the not being weighed by someone else. I'm even thinking of rejoinging WW, tonight in fact to give me a kick up the butt! I'm sure I read somewhere that if you join a meeting you get 2 free weeks online, not sure where I read it but I'm sure I did. Also, if you google weight watchers there are loads of sites relating to weight watchers by members/past members that have the info on.
    Have waffled sorry!!
Need to sort my life out! :T

:D thanks missyg lovely thing to say;) I saw the danger signs this morning as after my breakfast was very hungry and thought 'oh no here we go' but have managed all day without rushing for the food because I have been at work, then back home busy with DS not feeling well, house-work, just kept ultra busy all day long to stay away from food because I know I will regret it tomorrow or wallow in guilt because of it and so preventing myself a bad day(again!) so far so very good:D

Now I an going on the internet to book flights for my 6 weeks in spain in the summer, best start selling stuff to pay for it:rotfl: :rotfl: anyone want two England tickets for football next month?:rotfl: :rotfl:

-so suggs, tomorrow, if you lose weight are we NOT to congratualte you becasue you are aiming to maintain?:D

mmm...... yes good point, yes I should be maintaining, but I am sure most of you had guessed by now I sorta decided in a roundabout way of trying to sortof maintain but the odd lb off is fine. I think I could hit a milestone tomorrow and I dont know why, I am eating more and this week, three of my sessions in the gym were reduced CV work with weights added on. I guess for some people the exact maths of calories in and calories out can work, but it just doesnt in my case, I do not want to stop going to the gym, and I thought starting weight training would help.

Anyways like yourself BB I rarely got sotw, more of a 1 or 2lb a week loss for and the odd occasional 3 or 4lb loss as the body seemed to balance itself.

Good to see your ok though, hope your enjoying that lie down now.

Now James Bond movie is Quantum of Solace :j

Hi guys! Feels i havent been on here for ages! Its been so nice ot have 4 days of doing nothing, i filled it up with golf twice, bingo, making those chocolate cornflake cakes, a chinese take away with a bottle of wine that my boyfriend prepared, a film and slobbing out thinking of nothing. It was ncie while it lasted!

Today i have eaten about 7 chocolate buttons. Since i went out for a meal on saturday ive just had the worst tummy ever, so i thought if i didnt eat then it would give it a rest ect. I dont feel hungry really so i'll carry on till dinner!

First day of the new semester today. Only 4 more assignments, one presentation and 3 exams left till i finish 16 years of education to get me to the thicko level i am at now :p Oh and how can i forget the 10,000 word dissertation! Happy days.

I did WW online for a month or so and thought it was a right waste of money. When I put in my weekly wi result it came up with a WARNING! that I was losing more than they recommended... ohhh sorry, let me eat a few Mars Bars and rectify that for you  I didnt find any info on the site that I couldnt get from using my calculator, Shopping or Eating Out Guide.
Hated their forums too, really daft layout, largely completely off topic and VERY cliquey

Apart from that tho it was great value
