Manchester area for 5 days  Which reminds me, Serendis (or anyone else), we're looking for a little village west or north of Manc in the countryside - know anywhere good? PM if you like so we don't go too off topic.
Well done to all who've lost, maintained or gained this week; you're all still here x
Hullo....will leasd the topic slightly astray for you...if it gets more detailed then I'll PM...
are you looking for living or holiday first of all...
If its living, you don't drive and you want a reliable link to commute into manc then you can't go wrong with newton(although rail fares are going up and up which hurts )
I shall have a little looksie and pm you later
Buffet at a conference today...rather restrained although their cheesecake was lurvely....(we need a drool emoticon....)0 -

Well peeps I am a very happy Bb
. I am sitting up in a chair for the 1st time in a few weeks, basking in the winter sunshine with NO TEMPERATURE and feeling ok. This is a great start - to feel ok when doing nothing. Now I can slowly start building up actvity til I'm ok doing a little something.
Weigh In Grannynise: don't know quite how to say this becasue it always seemed so unlikely but.. I've lost 5 lbs and have now reached target...
Don't put me up for SOTW however, becasue this has been a result of not eating properly coz I'm sick rather than sustained sensible eating/exercise. I was really shocked at first to have lost so much but I've had a few days to get used to it and I'm rather liking the sound of 10 and a half stone:D . My BMI isnow 23.72 though I'm sure my fat/muscle ratio isn't as healthy as it could be but that's a different challenge for when I am better. I am now in size 14 top and bottom. Have reassured Mr BB that top half won't be getting any smaller, so he's happy:D .
I imagine I will easily put a few lbs back on as I am starting to eat more again now and have allowed myself plenty of treats these last few day which I have thoroughly enjoyed. However, I think it's back to SW'ing for me now that I can eat fairly normally again and I would love to not put too much back on.
Don't move me to the maintainers yet Granny,I would like time to see how things pan out over the next few weeks as I continue to recover. The target I set myself was really a made up number plucked out of the air - I want to see where my body naturally balances out at without going hungry or feeling deprived: I don't do either of those, as I just can't see it being healthy for me and SW suits me perfectly as the way I experience it, it doesn't allow either, either (given that I don't drink and can live without fresh bread on a daily basis)
Lots to catch up on for the rest of you peeps.Chuffed for you raphael - you resisted a lot of temptaion to slide down the pizza route this week - well done. And I'm delighted to see your loss kpc -I really think from wht you have posted recently you are cracking the thought processes stuff and I think this year you'll find the weight going, while still allowing yourself the pleasure of good food.
Really sorry Lilac Lillie to hear about the weight gain -don't despair yet - I can only echo what other peeps have said.
A few newbies I haven't said hi to: ACID and intergalactic floosie.
Loads more I haven't responded to but I've read everything and yet again, feel very priviledged to be part of such a wonderful forum of super peeps.

VIx GET BACK ON TRACK NOW is that shouty enough:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
KATIE
BAILS excuse the previous flippant remark but there is no need to worry about me thank you though, I do fine, I need to cling to what I know, what works for me which is navy seals, keeps the weight off, all good just have to deal with the pig out issues and we are food conquered:D
STS this week and checked the Body fat which is bang on 25% which is in the excellent category, so I know healthy weight, BMI wise 21, it is all bang on track, goal reached, perfect 10:rotfl: :rotfl:
I did write down a bit last night what the reason for the pig out is, I know now that I do not use food to nurture my emotions, I know that does not work, makes it all worse, the reasons I reckon is because I can like I said before and because my day to day is too tight so introducing the odd treat, also 9 years ago I was just normal, then I was diagnosed diabetic and wrongly reactive arthritis pretty much one on top of the other and then they changed it to rheumatoid arthritis and the endless visits to the docs, for blood tests, check ups, talked at, new tablets, different insulin, for one or the other, the new tablets not allowed to drink at all not that I wanted to, I guess it is rebellion childishly against the illnesses the docs visits being told what to do when to do it what to eat to save off a heart attack, stroke, amputation, kidney probs with the diabetes, I spend an awful lot of time at the docs, I spend my life trying to please the docs (they are very happy with the weight loss but not happy with the smoking) as I did my mother and neither of them have ever been pleased totally... crumbs very fraud:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: see what I have been made to do, analyze myself:rotfl: anyway there is the answer sick of mother, docs, being told what to do and short of my H snatching the food away from me which will never happen at my age:rotfl: I can get away with over eating, then again I can't because the numbers don't like it:rotfl:
The fact is I know I am as healthy as I can be and it is all down to me being as commando as I can be before I break it:D
Not passing the buck in blame to docs/mum but the past is what makes you act in the present and I was asked:rotfl: :rotfl:
My vow to me is to give me a chance, my life can't be about food forever:D I am prepared to tackle the bails 'yet';) and to try to drop the guilt0 -
Wooo....special purple post for BB....glad you're on the mend....
One way to build up the exercise...Keep typing!! we miss you when you're holed up in bed0 -
BB, I know it's the last way you wanted to get there, but CONGRATULATIONS anyway! It may fluctuate a bit as you say when you're properly on the mend but well done you! :T
Victory, your post has made my day!Writing stuff down and working things out is not easy to do, and in no way are you 'passing the buck' by recognising the effect of your mum and the docs. Being told you can't do something repeatedly does your head in, I'm not surprised you rebel! Life is about getting that balance though and saying, I'll do what is best for my health most of the time but I can't be perfect (noone can). This is how I approach my illness - if I was a saint, there are many things I would never/always do but life's not like that; I do the best I can and that's that. Maybe we could both join the 'good enough' club on here :rotfl:Seriously though, your vow has taken a lot of courage and I applaud you for that :T Well done you!

Bails...sending you a PM but you need to make some room
Ive saved it for now so give me a nudge when You're ready :-p0 -
hmmmm, ajax, are you a fellow b3ta fan?
YAY!!! to see BB back, I'm so glad you are feeling better, thats great. and Victory is feeling positive too, so retiredlady can't help but pick up some happy vibes from us all which must be good.
Acid, I used to avoid diet foods because I didn't want to be one of those people who buys slimming foods but they are often a quick and easy way of getting soemthing to eat and avoiding the pitfalls. If you know what it is you are looking to avoid or achieve (low/high carbs/protein, fat, salt, calories etc) they are often the best place to start. For breakfast my current favourite is weetabix seriously oaty with a highlights/options sachet stirred into it. You get a big bowl of chocolatey goop which may not be to everyone's taste but i love it. Current fave is white chocolate, mmmmm. Have made lots of friends at the office today by bringing in the leftover chocolate cheesecake from yesterday. It was too dangerous to keep at home and now everyone here luuuuurves me.
Bails, is it hols or living? My dad is an electrician and he knows Manchester and the surrounding areas backwards - he can generally tell you what street to avoid/pick out, never mind what area. Drop me a pm if you want me to ask him any questions. He will also ring me with every for sale board he sees in a promising area if thats your bag - he got me my car that way!0
