Quick question for one of the WW fans here... Does anyone know if there's a minimum to the amount of points you should be eating in a day?

There IS a minimum I believe but Im not 100% sure what it is. If you havent already done so, you can work out your point allowance here http://www.minimins.com/weight-watchers/20665-working-out-how-many-points-youre-allowed-day.html The max points you can save per day is 4

Evening guys. I had my second weigh in this week and am soooooooooooo dissappointed.
    I have GAINED 1lb!
I'm not kidding when I say the lady behind me was giggling away about eating a whole large pizza last night and washing it down with 2 (yes 2) bottles of wine.
Her friend said she hadn't bothered 'doing the diet thingy' all week.
The wine girl lost 2lb and the other 1 1/2lbs.
I have studied and practised my Red/ Green days as if it were a bible.
I've listened to creepy Paul McKenna CD every night in bed and have spent hours in my kitchen cooking recipes to a T from my SW bible.
One day I started cooking at 10am and was still at it at 5pm. Made soups and free food dishes to freeze so there will never be temptation.
Yesterday I went to a 5* hotel for a slap up meal .................... and didn't slap! I ate lettuce, fish and veg.
There was actually someone in tonights class that was also there, I remember seeing her dessert plate with at least 6 different desserts on and she lost 1lb.
    What am I doing??
When I went to WW a good while back for 2mths, I lost 2lb and stuck like glue to that programme.
I only left because they said I was cheating. I wasn't and turned out I had the thyroid problem, which is now being treated.
Because I know I have been so rigid on this plan I can't believe how upset I am.
Have been crying since I got home and am worried that it'll be like WW all over again.
What advice can anyone in a similar situation offer.
I need help big time here.
    LL
We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................

  • Try not to look at it week by week. I often gain one week then it averages out the next, or over the month as a whole. I know some people dont like to weigh themselves inbetween weigh ins but I bet in a couple of days that gain has gone again. Bodies, and weight are weird things
Looking for the sunshine after the rain

    Dealing with debt £1800 paid / £1800 cc :j
Now aiming to be mortgage free...figures to follow ;)
  • Lilaclillie - I;m sure the small gain might be hormonal or your body adjusting. Well done on trying so hard and keeping motivated though.

Well the end of my first week of going it alone. Tried sw a couple of times in the past but now don;t have time to go to classes. Eating sensibly, replacing snacks with healthier options. Mainly following slimming world plan but without referring to the books.
    Typical meal day
breakfast, weetabix, with unsweetened soya mil and canderel
lunch - jacket potato with choice of filling and sald
    snacks, fruit
dinner, spag bol with quorn mince, pasta and low fat sauce, rice with small amount of curry etc.
Failing at drinking more water and still no exercise.

But weight loss for this week is 4lbs!!! so only another 46 pounds to Plan is to go for 50 lbs with interim targets such as half stone losses.
Starting weight 14st 8 go !! Please add this to the tracker.

Good luck everyone for the weigh-ins.

Quick question for one of the WW fans here... Does anyone know if there's a minimum to the amount of points you should be eating in a day? I know I said I was going to do Core, but after trying to work out everything mum cooked at the weekend I gave up and switched over - yes, I know, I shouldn't switch during a week, but.... Oh well.

The minimum daily points to be eaten is 14. And that's only if you're on 18 points per day and are saving 4 for a special occasion that may be coming up.

Ended up having a rubbish day diet wise today. OH's cousin visited us from Dublin with SiL and LO (age 3 again!) and bought us a box of thornton's chocolates. I totally pigged out - I'm not telling you how many victory -cos you'll only come over here and boot my behind Navy Seal wise..... lol.

Ah well, tomorrow is another day .WI day as a matter of fact and I'm hoping that the chocs I've eaten tonight don't show up on the scales for at least another 2 days.....
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
  • Exercise yesterday: First Body Pump Class in about a year - I'm not as sore as I thought I was going to be. I did enjoy it, did feel like I really worked out, and have booked in for Wednesday evening's class.

Steps yesterday: 10,047 in total. 3,593 aerobic steps (34 minutes) which was my walk at lunchtime up to Boots and back (1.1 mile - so it must have counted my steps when I was in the shop, usually if you stop, the pedometer stops the aerobic steps). I also made the effort to be more active at work, getting up to the shredder with one piece of paper instead of waiting til I'd built up a pile, actually walking to the printer to get my printing rather than bellowing at the next passing person to pass me it etc..
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23

    Morning folks

BBelle/Grannynise, 3lb loss for me this week. I've weighed in a day early as MrsA is having her plaster cast off today so we're having a curry to celebrate. Would have been a bottle of wine but she can't drink more than 2 units a day for the next 6 months cos of her new anticoagulant medication

ACID, you sound a prime candidate for Weight Watchers to me. I don't mean paying into a class, but rather just following the points system and keeping the dosh in your pocket. It's very easy to do and would require an initial spend of about £10-15 for the starter pack and the calculator, depending on what they charge at class to get the book these days. Alternatively, they would be available on Ebay but may cost more. It's the method I use, I get 29 points a day to play with, and that's me 39 years old, weighing 15 stone something and I've classed my job as sedentary. If you weigh more and/or have an active job and/or are younger you'd get even more points. It would take the guesswork out of counting the food as the only reference point you'd use is your daily points allowance. All Weight watchers food, and all Tesco Healthy Living and Light Options food is pre-pointed on the packaging so it's extremely easy to follow.

Good luck with that choc result delly :)

ACID, a mix of everything is good. People losing weight are no different to anyone else in that a balanced diet is always the way to go.
