ACID, try this link for the Food Standards Agency advice on healthy diet. Food is such a vast topic, that we can't begin to cover it adequately on here and I think this will help you, especially with the basics:

LilacLillie - you still have lost 3.5lb overall, which is a very healthy loss indeed! Please don't let other people's talk get to you, allow yourself more time, it isn't a race. I also bet every person on here knows what it's like to have an "extra strict" week and then be disappointed with the result, I certainly do. It isn't panic time yet LL, I'd suggest giving it at least another month and see how you get on, then consider your options.
Hope everyone is OK today!0 -
Morning All
Sorry I disappeared for a few days, Friday was a company 'kick off' meeting!! The weekend was horrible, not wanting to explain what happened, combination of ex and son, thats as far as I would like to explain for now. So didn't play rugby.
I hope and trust we are all ok. Delly, sorry to har about the probs with your dog, hope all ok, missyg congrats but will you now please eat!!Acid welcome, porridge for breakfast, Boots do a great shapers range, listen to the group and yourself. oh and wholemeal bread, not brown
Ajax hope the cast comes off ok and enjoy the curry. Bluecorn hope Tom has a good voice, sorry about your injuries, am I right in thinking you were a rugger !!!!!!. Pixie, sounds like a rebuild could be in order. LilacLillie do you not think some of these people are just telling fibs?? as for the lady at your dinner with the 6 desserts? Sometimes, it takes a couple of days to show. your doing great and your doing the right thing so stop around and lets have some fun
KPC hope your shopping for big jugs goes ok, need some help?? Victory, you know I think your too harsh on yourself and you probably think the same of me. Bails gave out some wonderful advice as did KPC?? I think you, me and possiblymissy are finding it hard to let go and ease, in my case this is certainly the horrible thought of slippin on the slippy slope. I notice your OH passed a comment, wether well judged or not, he is showing concern.

LL try not to stress. I've come back to SW after falling off the wagon and I haven't found it as easy as before when the weight just fell off every week. I bet, like me, you've been kinda sticking to it in the meantime but kinda not - so you don't get that spectacular kickstart you get before. Don't be disheartened, you are making progress, even if you don't see it. As missy ays, give it a month before moving onto a different plan. Also remember it can take time - Raph was devastated last week to not be getting anywhere but weighed in with a massive loss this week.
I'm reporting in with a 0.8kg loss which is a bit of a relief. Had fajitas and nachos for tea last night but showed restraint and avoided a lot of the dips.
Acid, you're getting some great advice here, Ajax is well worth listening to. Have you checked out Sugg's story on page 1?0 -
Hi all. Well done to everyone who has lost this week. Big hugs to those who are down or poorly.
I don't think I'm going to have a very good week. Don't weigh til tom but had a sneaky look this morning and it's not looking good. Was really good at weekend foodwise and we all (dh,dd1,dd2) went on an 'expedition!' to the woods. DD1 has project for school on exploring. Done a 2 hour hike through the woods, so really if not good wiegh in, it could have been worse. My main problem is DH is home from offshore so not so easy to just have veg stirfry etc. Need to make more of an effort though. (obviously I like DH being home from offshore). Anyway, good luck everyone waiting to weigh and I will post my success!!!! tomorrow.Need to sort my life out! :T0 -
Oh my word so much to catch up on!!! I've missed you all so much, but it looks like my access has clicked back in (or at least its a lot better than it was, I'd better touch some wood and quick!!). As a quick update, was my first WI with dear old Rosemary C last Weds since before Christmas and I managed to stay the same - quite pleased with that!
Lots of love and hugs to everyone, here's hoping I'm back properly!!!!!!

Well after my 5.5 weight loss last week, I have returned to my normal state of affairs and have put on 1.5 pounds.
I did not have anything I was not supposed to have and really did expect a loss this week.
I am trying to tell myself it is a temporary little bump and will even itself out next week but it really is so depressing.
I know I have lost a lot of weight already but I still have so much more to lose (another 13 stone) and sometimes I just feel like giving up.
Sorry to be such a drip, but I am feeling sorry for myself - I will get over it soon!:o

I have GAINED 1lb!
I'm not kidding when I say the lady behind me was giggling away about eating a whole large pizza last night and washing it down with 2 (yes 2) bottles of wine.
Her friend said she hadn't bothered 'doing the diet thingy' all week.
The wine girl lost 2lb and the other 1 1/2lbs.
I have studied and practised my Red/ Green days as if it were a bible.
I've listened to creepy Paul McKenna CD every night in bed and have spent hours in my kitchen cooking recipes to a T from my SW bible.
One day I started cooking at 10am and was still at it at 5pm. Made soups and free food dishes to freeze so there will never be temptation.
Yesterday I went to a 5* hotel for a slap up meal .................... and didn't slap! I ate lettuce, fish and veg.
There was actually someone in tonights class that was also there, I remember seeing her dessert plate with at least 6 different desserts on and she lost 1lb.
What am I doing??
When I went to WW a good while back for 2mths, I lost 2lb and stuck like glue to that programme.
I only left because they said I was cheating. I wasn't and turned out I had the thyroid problem, which is now being treated.
Because I know I have been so rigid on this plan I can't believe how upset I am.
Have been crying since I got home and am worried that it'll be like WW all over again.
What advice can anyone in a similar situation offer.
I need help big time here.
LL
LL, my heart goes out to you after reading your post. My first thought is, please, please ignore those other silly people at your class. They may not be telling the truth and even if they are, you are only causing yourself distress by comparing yourself to them. Each of us is very different, with different weight to lose, metabolism etc. Secondly, please don't underestimate how seriously your thyroid will affect your weight loss. Have you spoken to your doctor about trying to lose weight and/or that you're struggling with it? I don't know enough to help you properly but you do need some proper medical support with this, so you don't feel so hopeless.
Have you tried a food diary? It is very easy to be eating more than we realise (almost all of us could put our hand up to that one). Try keeping one religiously for one week and see if you can find any patterns/ extras. Whatever happens, stick with us and we can give you as much support as you need. Perhaps you might consider going it alone, rather than putting yourself through the torture of your class? Big hugs xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
