Acid, go here http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ and work out your Basal metabolic rate, that will tell you how many calories your body needs to operate on a daily basis. having a few less will encourage your weight loss.

For instance my BMR is something like 1881 so I have 1700 calories and do more exercise than I used to which lets me lose weight at a steady and healthy rate. In general I would say about 2000 calories with minimal fat intake is good to aim at for the average bloke of your height, but do check.

ACID, that seems like a small amount of food to me, for someone your height. As Jules rightfully pointed out, there was no protein at all in the list you posted. Protein is vital and can also be found in beans and pulses if you're veggie. The main thing in terms of how much you eat is are you full? If you feel hunger (not to be mistaken with thirst, which feels the same - try drinking a glass of water first and then ask yourself again in 15 mins), then eat more, sticking to healthy choices. Hope that helps a little, please do post any more questions you have.

Victory, I understand the resentment you feel towards other people who can seemingly eat what they like, but honestly, it'll do you in if you don't let it go! We're all different and we could choose to spend every minute of every day being envious of so-and-so because they can XYZ, but why put yourself through the torment? You are who you are and accepting that will free you up. Life isn't meant to be an endless battle, it's to be enjoyed; please, please enjoy who you are! We all care about you and we just want you to be happy.

    today i had

4 slices of toast in the morning (white bread, but changing to brown from wed)

apple, 2 oranges and a small bag of carrot stick

evening dinner was pilau rice with peas

no more junk food or fast food

is that too less, ok i had a bit of a stomach upset this morn and maybe i didnt eat as much but is that too less
am i missing something out, is there too much toast, no fibre??
    less fruit?
    more water?

    thanks for reading.

That really doesnt seem like an awful lot at all. I suppose for one day it wouldnt do any harm but for someone your height etc it doesnt sound enough.

What you have to remember as well, when youre trying to lose weight that not eating enough can be as bad as eating too much.

  • Hey all!

Have finally managed to read everything, took me ages though, my laptop is on a real go slow, think I'm gonna have to give in and clean up the HD sooner or later... Meh. It'll be later cos I definately can't be bothered tonight!!

Quick question for one of the WW fans here... Does anyone know if there's a minimum to the amount of points you should be eating in a day? I know I said I was going to do Core, but after trying to work out everything mum cooked at the weekend I gave up and switched over - yes, I know, I shouldn't switch during a week, but.... Oh well.

WI tomorrow, not expecting miracles though - Didn't use kickstart this week, will be starting that tomorrow instead, and although I haven't eaten all that much, I also haven't done much, so... Although I've found a great new way to stop myself snacking - can't eat with a set of knitting needles in my hands!! ;)

Acid, You need some more veg as well...protein is good but you get a lot of vitamins by upping the veg as well. The food focus website that granny pointed out is great to work out if you're proportions are right
