:dance:Raphael, great result, I'm so pleased for you! You deserve to be dancing around!
Well done to other losers too. Missy, I know you wanted to do it just the once, but get in that kitchen and feed yourself please or I'll be round with the big bitey boot! :D
Delly, my heart goes out to you about the siuation with Sasha - give yourself time to see how things work out with your new plan and then have another look at the situation. Your son does need to come first but I agree with others that have said growing up with animals is a lovely thing. You will work out the best thing for all of you in time. As far as the walking goes, why not see if there is someone out there who could help you with that? I can't have my own dog (yet!) but I would love to take someone else's dog out. Put an ad up, you never know who you might be helping out, as well as getting some help for yourself.
Starlight, there's no need to apologise at all. I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling with other things recently and I hope you find your way again soon. Just post when you want to, we'll always be glad to see you.
Struggling with remembering any more just now, but good luck to everyone still to weigh in, I hope all our effort will pay off and if not, as Raph proves, next week it will! I'll be hoping for a STS this week, forgot to take Mum's birthday weekend into account...

Thank you all for the birthday greetings. I had a lovely day, very MSE, ate at home , roast dinner but a very naughty chocolate fondue for afters. We did dip fruit in it though.
missyg well done on the weight loss, I can't remember when I had a 7 before my weight. Mine is 13st something but I am inspired when I read about you and all the other amazing people who have lost so much weight.
delly, I cried when I read about you thinking of giving up your dog. My mother gave away 5 dogs during our childhood and teenage years but I was very attached to one, she was called Sacha too and it all came back to me. My dogs at present drive me demented with the mess, I have one trying to empty the paper recycling box under my feet as I type. I would never go for a walk each day if the dogs weren't here. I would try her with your friend and see how you feel without her, maybe it is just a blip, we all get them.

I started writing earlier today them the power went off and I have lost my flow.
Well done to all who are continuing to lose weight. Christmas and bad weather have really taken their toll on my weight.

No ajax DS is not selling them at school but great idea though:D thanks for all the replies just going to leave it as it is with DS no fuss, the kids know they can eat whatever whenever, no weight issues with either of them, I mean it is me that gets out the choc orange like the other night, broke it open put it on a plate and help yourself, I bake them fairy cakes when the y ask me ,buy them doughnuts that they love or the biscuits or whatever, they know they don't have to hide... will check back another time to see if this was a one off or there are more sweetie wrappers:D

delly, katie, bails, missyg thanks very much for the replies, writing it down is a great idea, will do that, the reasons why? I think to be honest the bottom line is I live in a house with 3 other people, 2 kids and 1 H and not for one single moment do they consider, calories/sugars/carbs anything like that, they enjoy their food, eat it, eat a lot of it, they are all stick insect thin!!nothing happens to them not an ounce goes on and me? I have to watch every single little thing that goes in, calorie count, etc etc and it boils up to pig out time or want to join in time or be normal like them.

I know the navy seals works for me, long term who knows but each time weight has to be lost it works, to keep it off it works, to stay the same it works, bringing in the odd treat makes me panic, I don't want a little treat, I want it all and so have nothing,I have nothing in the house that I can loose my way over, I have lost, gained, lost all my life and now have a chance to keep it off if I keep at it, constantly, it is that the every day of it that drives me insane sometimes and I eat madly because? because like I said before I can, can't think of any other reason, it never has a chance to weight gain because the guilt, the why did you do that to yourself? the high diabetic numbers? the feeling of sickness etc makes me have to eat normally again to get it all back to an even keel (lucky in a way that the diabetes does not allow it to go on and on otherwise all my hard work would have been lost a long time ago) and so the weight stays off.

H says I am harsh on myself, impossibly so, too over determined, too focused when there are other things going on, I know now I look good, this is how I should look all the time, my clothes are lovely, I want to look like this but find it takes my every waking moment to keep it like this.

I don't think in a way sometimes my H helps me when he says that I can buy some more clothes if I grow out of the ones I have now, I know he means well but I refuse to see it that way, I want to stay as I am now, permanently.

I like the idea of not 'yet' but to me it is so far away I am too old to find it.

I have had a really tough time of it today, high numbers, felt sick, thought I was going to have to go home early from work, had little concentration, felt very sluggish, self inflicted of course, so there you go, this is my life now.

Haha! Already done. Major pasta bolognese blowout and then crisps from the garage on the way home :p (didn't fancy the haribos after all).

I don't want to be underweight any more than I want to be overweight so I shall bump up the calories a little again this week and see if I can start maintaining properly.

Vix, I'm not 7 stone  Just dipped under the 8 stone barrier for today for a quick visit... normal service will be resumed next week and no, I don't plan to lose any more. Lol about the condom story :D Have a good workout!

Thanks for all your replies folks, you really are a great bunch of people.

I've spoken to my friend and Sasha hasn't fretted since going to her house. She took her for a walk yesterday afternoon and expects that her Dad will take her out this evening for a walk since it's dried up. I've asked her if she's happy to keep the dog for a while longer and if she thinks she'll be able to give her back and the answer is yes to both. She's happy to keep Sasha for me for another week and she's equally happy to give her back to me as they'd quite like to get a dog of their own and was using Sasha to convince her dad that it's a good idea.

I've more or less decided that when we buy the crate we'll bring her back home, so roll on pay day (friday). I'm going to keep her indoors whilst it's wet and make sure that she gets toileting walks a couple of times a day. If the weather ever starts to clear up, she'll be going outside into a run (we're planning quite a big one to give her loads of space) when we're at work during the day.

I'm sure I must have sounded like I was demented, but I did have a good reason for reacting the way I did.

    Thanks again folks.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
  • yay! glad to see you happier delly! V good idea from bails on the dog walking btw. Might see if anyone in my area wants their dog walking, I'd like that!

Hope starlight is feeling better now too, well done to achieve a loss too and not to give in to comfort eating.

ROFLing at Vix's story about the condom. I once found my little bro turning the house upside down to 'find the gun'. He was adamant that my mum must have a gun because 'look, she's keeping the bullets in the bathroom cabinet . . . . '

take care of yourself Victory, you know yourself best at the end of the day. Bail's advice is extremely sound though - I think I may even print it and put it in my diary. Thanks Bails.

If your friend wants to get a dog, will she not think of fostering Sasha? Then at least you'd have piece of mind that she is being looked after well, and could visit her.

  • Hullo Victory...maybe you could shift the focus of the challenge? previously its all been about shidting the weight which you have done magnificiantly...this time its all about enjoying the new Victory and learning to enjoy food again....

I know about living with thin people my OH is exactly the same doesn't gain an ounce...no matter how hard I try to feed him up :p.

You mention that you want what they have...Maybe you should make a jealousy list?....is it that they are wolfing down treats or are you jealous of them sitting down to a shepherds pie and gravy witout any twinge of guilt....and then work towards it?...

You're going to have to learn to re-educate and trust yourself when it comes to food otherwise the effort will be in vain...you'll stay thin but not necessarily enjoy the benefits of your new knowledge.... small steps and before you know it you'll help yourself feel more normal and thus won't be using food as a retalliation....

Losing the weight is a third of the battle...another third the maintaining....the final food is the key to both and that is breaking the cycle of using food as a mental prop...

Don't pay any mind to your OH saying you can buy new clothes if needs be it won't get that drastic....you have the determination to lose any gains and make for a perfect maintainer you just need to relax a little...set yourself a 3lb margin either side of your maintain weight....I know you are going to go  at the thought of 3 lbs but think of everything that can contribute to fluctuations! its a margin that will accomodate a small gain and some fluctuation....weigh yourself only once a week...eat sensibly and give yourself a treat every day...even if its one biscuit... (if you really don' trust yourself...get your OH to portion the stuff out and hand it over :D...then see how bad the gain is the next week (if there is any and if it isn't TOTM)....then the following week lose any gain (you've done this before) or take stock and think...hmmm...not so bad....

Kinda treat it like an experiment....after all...maintenance is for life so we will all have to find the balance between food, weight and happiness.

Just thought I'd contribute to all the wonderful advice...and tbh I would have said something earlier as I have been worrying as well...delly put it so tactfully though!

Thanks seren :D I like what you say, previously I would have passed th portion control to H but now he is not on my side, he says he needs to see me gaining and that to me is not ever going to be an option as bigger size clothes are not either:D

I really work best if it is not there, can't have it, don't lie in bed reminiscing about it just accept it, it is not there, can't have it, end of.

The 3lb either way is great but I panic, like xmas, panic and loose it, start again, gain, panic, loose gain, I know it is for life and boy at this rate it's going to be a long one:rotfl: :rotfl: xmas proved I cannot eat as I would like...ever:rotfl: :D

I only weigh once a week on a tuesday same clothes same time at boots the chemist.

It is like the cook yourself thin channel 4 show, they still have whatever the others are having but have learnt to cut out the calories/sugars/fats etc so do not feel deprived (just cooking the jeresulem artichokes that are supposed to be as good as roast potatoes, we'll see!!) I do that all the time, with WW meals, recipes from slimming world, WW all low fat stuff but they have what they want, when they want it, no notion of calories, no interest, just eat and eat!!

Delly glad you have found a solution xx
