    Hi Brighton Belle

Thanks for that, I have got my second weigh in tonight so am a bit nervous, have cheated quite a lot (oh okay, an awful lot) this week so we will see what we will see.

    Wont' give up though.

I am looking for lunch ideas at work if you have any, I have access to a toaster and microwave, but am getting a bit tired of jacket potatoes!!!

  • thinnk you are right bb- i did okay with the full 15 before but I was doing more exercise then so I will try reducing it. I know I ought to exercise more but going to the gym just made me so miserable that I don't think it was worth it. quote]

Don't even think about going to the gym kpc - exercise should ultimately be enjoyable, You've given the gym a go - well done, but now forget it - the gym is not for everyone. You (and me) need to find a means of naturally incorporating exercise into our day to day life. Any way you can park a little futher away form work and walk the rest of the way? Think about upping the exercise just a little, rather than feeling it's got to be loads, and mega strenuous - that can be too overwhelming and lead to being put off from doing it in the first place.
Starlight - please don't feel guilty - many of us here know what it is like to go t hrough dark times. You are welcome to pop in as little or as much as you can.:grouphug: Nearly 10 stone is a fantastic achievement - and being ill hasn't thrown you off track:T .
Raph - sounds likeyou are entering the next faze of getting healthy, not just losing weight. You can look forward to another set of numbers coming down due to your determination and self awareness:T .
I've put on 1 lb this week granny. I know why - several delicious treats over the weekend. The good news is that yesterday I had put on more, but just 1 day strict SW'ing and only 4 syns yesterday has dropped the weight gain to just 1lb. So I'l keep on track for the next few days and get rid of that one too:D .
Peeps, I feel I am coming out a very traumatic couple of months. My energy levels are creeping up, my joints are a little more comfortable and my spirits are good. Just focussing on a day at a time and today is good.

Ness - I've been off work for a couple of months and now have the memory of a gold fish - can't remember what I used to take in but will give it some thought!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Hi everyone!:hello:
I third Suggs for the front page spread! :D
Starlight, no need to apologise, just to say posting on here really helps me with my own clouds so we are here for you if you feel like popping in just to say hello, no need to share unless you want to x
Bluecorn, great to see you back and hear your DD is okay at the mo. Well done on not falling off the wagon completely, something to be really proud of in the circumstances I'd say. Try a small bottle and sit it on your desk, carry it around with you, really helps with the water intake.
GN, glad you had a fab time at the spa :T
KPC, I agree with BB, exercise needs to be fun! Forget the gym, and maybe avoid thinking of it as 'exercise' - can be kinda like the word 'diet' with its negative connotations. Think of what you love doing that also gets your heart rate going or stretches your body. Your re-enactment stuff must get your heart going I would imagine, and there's always scrabble ;) As you've read, I'm a recent convert to yoga (also used to do pilates) - it doesn't have to be cardio to give you a fab workout - just check out the yoga teachers for proof, I'd kill for tone like that!:D
Raph, 15 mins. running on the treadmill is an unrealistic target to start you off on, did he mean walking? If you can already do 5 mins running, which is fab, don't knock it, then try this instead: 1st min. walk then alternate a minute of running followed by a minute of walking. If you start to struggle, then run for 30 secs at a time. This is a much easier way of upping your running (marathon runners use this technique) and will also be more fat-burning as your heart rate stays elevated throughout the whole 15 minutes. As this becomes easier, gradually reduce the length of each walking segment and before you know it, you'll be running for the whole 15 minutes. My heart is racing with excitement just at the thought of doing this - now, that's sad!! :D
BB, really great to hear you are feeling good and your energy levels and joints are a little better, so pleased for you  xx
Well done to everyone this week, you're all doing fab! :Tx

  • some good suggestions on the exercise - I've been being quite good with my half hour on my dance mat most days, and walking a bit more so thats good. What I'd really like is a cross trainer but on reflection I really don't have anywhere to put one - and if it would tucked aay in a cormer it would stay in a corner! hard to park further away from work BB as I need the car a lot during the day - I run a lot of 'errands' but I suppose that would all help. Perhaps I ought to look around for somewhere . . . . on the subject there's a good article in this weeks SW on exercise if anyone has got it . . .

ness, I do sw and i do the following for lunch:

Green - low fat supernoodles, savoury rice, tinned tomatoes on toast, home made pasta and rice salads, cous cous

Red - rotisserie chicken from the supermarket; packs of cooked meat and low fat cottage cheese; prawn and chopped cucumber in cottage cheese or with fat free dressing

welcome boddy and welcome properly bindi - be careful about that stuffing yourself thing though - I did it 'for two days' at Christmas and I'm still suffering the consequences.

Higs to starlight and anyone else who needs them. Glad to see you so positive BB!!!
