Sounds brilliant BB, I'd have loved to have sat there too :D Glad you had a lovely time.
Well, I've scrubbed the bathroom (for an hour and a half ) and been for a walk along the canal this afternoon, so an active day for me (Cazzdevil, what I wouldn't do to swop with you though!) We've had a lovely day together, had tea and cake at the end of the walk and are settling down for a cosy night in with a DVD. Tomorrow we're off for a day out somewhere and a longer walk; can't wait! The last time I walked where we were today the Dementor subjected me to a 3-hour ordeal  I vowed never to walk anywhere with her again. I'm happy to say that today was a much nicer one and I could really notice a difference in my health; not massive but definitely improved :j On the way home we checked out Combe Grove Manor (yup, a posh place :D) where I can get discretionary rates through school. I was interested as it is literally next door to my school so I figured I could get much more use out of it than the gym in town...but, even with the discount, it's £62/month!! So I will have to think VERY carefully about whether I really will benefit from it or not. Any advice peeps?

GN, I hope you have a fantastic time at the spa, much deserved!
Boddy, get the purple DMs I say!

check out my new mate kev's website bails: www.kevreynolds.co.uk You may even have read some of his books. Very envy making I agree, but he was the nicest bloke you could meet, ditto his wife. They've lead very interesting lives.
Victory - really please all is goin so well, just when you really needed it. And of course you are going to worry, whatever anyone says - that's entirely normal.:grouphug:
Really pleased you could spot the difference in your health bails. Can't help you with any thoughts on the gym. It sooo doesn't appeal to me I can't put myself in your shoes I'm afraid. Is there a minimum membership time you have to sign up for?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

(love DM's but as they are quite heavy they make me fall even more than usual:rotfl: )

bails~~that is a lot of money every month.Only you know if it might be worth that rather large investment.Could you maybe ask them if you could try it for a month as you have health issues, then make a decision. That way you havent had to sigh up to a years contract or whatever.

Glad you had a fab time BB.

On shoes I am aon a Skechers kick at the mo as they seem to really suit my feet.I also really like reiker but only their summer ones as ther winter ones are very old wify-ish.:rotfl:

  • mmmm, lamb tartare very delish! Had enough left to make some lamb burgers for during the week too!

Vix, how were you getting paid to shop and have lunch? Enquiring minds want to know!

Bails £62/month is a LOT for gym membership. Do you get anything else that would make that worthwhile? Does it have a pool etc? A good way to look at it is to ask yourself how many times a month you will go - I worked out it was costing me £8 every time I went to the gym so it wasn't worth it to me.

never had a ny skechers beanie . . hmmmm. I did buy some new walking boots last month thouggh so I can't really go buying any more shoes as I may need to start thinking of getting rid of some before I can fit any new ones in the wardrobe. Oooohh I've come over all faint at the very idea, must go for a lie down . . . .

I only pay £5 per month gym for staff membership :j (with pool, sauna and stean room:D ).... and I am ashamed to say I have only gone 3 times in the last year!!!:o

Works out about £20 per visit:o

Maybe if I had to pay more I might make myself go more often!

Or maybe I need to just cancel it and start walking more again:rolleyes:

£62/month for gym would be too much for my liking, I wouldn't want it to average more than £5/visit and at that rate it'd need to be more than 12 visits a month!

    bb thanks xx

bails it is a lot of money per month as the others have said, maybe ask them if you can 'test their equipment' for a week/month and see if it will benefit you,it depends on you and how much you think you will use it....

Waiting for the MIL to wake up (deja vu from yesterday!!) if there is something to learn from her is when you give her some food whatever it is on the plate, she eats what she wants and then says 'right that is me done, had enough' pushes her plate away and that is that, now that is something I should try and stick to:rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Hello all!

Firstly hugs to Victory, hope everything goes well at docs.

    I joined a gym yesterday!!
£43 a month (which works out to just over £10 a week) which isn't too bad as I wanted to go swimming once/twice a week which would cost me around £4-£5 each time.
I don't have to start paying til March, so the rest of this month is free, and I got a free MP3 player for joining!

I did 10 mins on the bike, 10 on x trainer, some weights and 5 mins running! Then a quick swim before coming home and walking the dog! :rotfl: I haven't had my induction yet, got that on tuesday with 'Simon' so should hopefully get some good tips for kicking me into shape.
