Well done Raphael and Missyg - fantastic. And Dragon, a total of 25 pounds all in all - fantastic too! Well done

Vix - Me and hubbie went to Brighton last year for couple of nights. Stayed at 'The Twenty One'. A small guest house. Run by 2 lovely men. And spotless. We didn't take a car but you can ring them if you want about the parking. I have a feeling it wasn't all that brill for that actually. But otherwise could't fault it. We stayed in room 3 Victorian room which had just been decorated. Don't know what the other rooms were like. You can google them. x

Vix,you could consider leaving the car in a nice suberb of Brighton, where no parking restrictions and then get the bus (good service) into town. You won't need the car while you are here. That would give you more choice of venues.

While I was at my Mum's house at the weekend I tried on my bridesmaid's dress, from my sister's wedding when I had just turned 14. I wasn't overweight at that age, but it fits me now with room to spare...

Proper 1980's style dress though :rotfl: puffy sleeves & all!

Ha thats cool missyg. I remember trying on the dress i wore for my prom in year 11 which was 4 or 5 years ago and i tried it on about 2 years ago and it wouldnt even stay up. My mum made me put it on to convince me i had lost weight. The dress was cool, but boy did i look gay in it.

Ive searched the twentyone before, i think they dont have any room available. I must have searched everywhere in brighton so now im going for what looks the best and not bothering with the price! I keep going round in circles!
  • lo all!

back from blackpool del sol! Had a nice rest in the sunshine but v odd time. Mile upon mile of Irish bars, places to get a full cooked breakfast, English papers, supermarkets full of English food. Very weird. Can't understand this thing of wanting things to be the same whilst in a foreign country - surely the whole point of travel is to enjoy other cultures? Or is it simply to drink as much heineken as you can whilst eating walkers crisps in a wolverhampton wanderers themed bar? We found a Spanish restaurant and went for tapas - MIL said it was quite nice. 30 years she's been holidaying in Spain and never tried tapas! Managed to have a few Spanish experiences by going further back into the mountains but v ambivalent about Benalmadena. This probably isn't making very much sense is it?!

Read TONS of books which was fab, but ate lots of bad food which was not so fab. Did you know there are practically infinite variations on milka bars in Spain? Ones with chocoloate biscuits in them, ones with wafers in them, one with rich tea type biscuits and kinder type creamy stuff in them . . . oooh, and the one that was layered in dark, milk and white, I liked that one too. PRobably not going to be a good result tomorrow for the weigh in methinks!

I haven't tried to catch up as I'll be here all night so I'll just hit the ground running I think. Did anyone watch Ashes to Ashes? What did you think?
  • bails, pretty pretty please empty your PM box xxxx

  • Well - they came back earlier this evening. I didn't get to see the initial reaction as my STUPID:mad: sil couldn't wait 5 minutes on us and let them in.... so they had time to prepare as such - please forgive me for being cynical, but where these two are concerned I just can't help it.

Anyway, they seemed to like it well enough. OH was thanked by both parents for taking on the job. FiL said it's the best looking the house has been in years OH's aunt whispered to me it was the best looking the house had EVER been:D . Sil tried in one or two small ways to take the credit but didn't know enough to pull it off - Don't care, it's nothing like anything she would have picked at all and she knows it. The only criticism mil could make was ask why we didn't buy 2 bedside lockers for his dad's room. OH replied, well he is on his own you know, why don't you buy him another one:rotfl: . (she just got back money from benefits she was disputing and we all know she's loaded).

The biggest compliment we got was from OH's uncle who asked us if they go away for a couple of months, could we do the same for them?

Man - rotten of me I know, but I hope they go away again soon.:D

Hehehe, the funny thing is, I'm becoming more ambilvalent about snide remarks and other people's behaviour since starting all of this work and couldn't work out why, then I was reading this month's RED magazine and got my answer - as I get older I don't take slights as personally as I would have before - the snide remarks and comments say more about the person who is saying them than they are about me. (take note bails, brighton belle and anyone else who has a dementor in their life, whether or not they're your Mum, Mil or just the narky cow in the desk/office/classroom/shop/house next to you - other people's negativity is about them an not you, don't let them turn you toxic too......)
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Good night ladies and gents..I am feeling really enthusiastic at the beginning of this new week!! I am gonna finally do some exercise when I join the gym/swimming pool this weekend, so that will help me...

I am finding the following things are helping..

drinking loads of water..especially when I first start to feel hungry..water soon makes your brain know whether you are really hungry or not!

I also find a new snack- which is my current alternative to crisps...it is branflakes with sultanas- dry, and eat them like crisps..it is lovely, I didn't even eat sultanas before, now I can't wait to go and buy some.

Also I am starting to plan what I am eating etc, and only eating when i need to rather than when I am bored, or sad, or tired etc..

I am starting WW this week as well, so now I am on the move from calories to points...btw anyone know how much a homemade lasange is in terms of both cals and points? I eat a portion that my mum made earlier, it was great!

I am also starting to see that it is possible to lose weight, you just gotta really want it and be disciplined!

    Well all the best guys!

    QT x
