Welcome back Katiepoppycat! Yes it was all making sense, totally agree with you on the point about going abroad and finding lots of English stuff there - although finding a jar of marmite overseas has been known to put a big smile on my face before now ;) They seem to have stopped doing my fave Milka bars which were the plain white chocolate ones *sob* - now it's white choc and coconut :(

Delly, will you be able to get a bit of a rest now? Good to hear your efforts were appreciated!

QT2006 thanks for the tip about bran flakes and sultanas! I'm a raisins girl but it could work the same, I'll give that a go! :D Took me a while to get the taste for bran flakes to begin with but I like them now!

Redmel1621, hopefully one of our SW people will be able to answer your Q soon!

Raphael maybe you can hope for a better loss next week then :D At least there is a bit a of a pattern to yours! Hope you feel better soon hon.

Suzy-Qu congrats on the fab 1lb loss! LilacLille, you are doing brilliantly too!

Good luck anyone weighing today :)

Morning all, how's everyone feeling this bright and sunny day? :D

I'm feeling really positive about my change in eating habits so far, but I'm concerned about tomorrow and Thursday, OH and I are going to the flicks (free tickets tomorrow and a sort of valentines night on Thursday) and he'd mentioned going for something to eat too so I'm hoping I don't fall off the wagon.

Fingers crossed this nice weather keeps up for the weekend, I'm hoping to do a 30 - 50 miler on the mountain bike on Sunday if it's fine.

    Hi,

Sorry to barge in on you all in here, but I have a feeling i might get the answer i need from somebody here....

I am considering joining Slimming World, however, do I need to turn up at the exact time advertised or can i turn up later to be weighed?? also if i go for a week or two and don't like it can i just stop going??
I have tried to phone my local lady today but could get no reply, I will try tommorrow but then had the dea of asking on here, so i may not need to phone her.
The class is on a wednesday in my area, so i'm really tying to find out the answers before then...

    Hullo,
You can turn up a bit later but I found it generally easier to go either on time or even a little earlier to get it over and done with. You don't have to return again if you don't like...a lot of peeps on her turn up and join to get the info and then never return...sometimes the classes are well worth attending but this is highly dependent on the type of group and tutor...my one was rubbish so I ditched the classes.

    Hope that helps

Hi Redmel - I love SW and have done really well on it and never hungry so good luck (though you don't need luck - just stick to the plan:D ) For your first meeting you should turn up at the opening time, because while the regulars are getting weighed, the leader explains the plan to newbies - this is well worth having, though you can always ask us extra questions once you've started. After that, you can turn up anytime in the first half hr brfore the meeting proper starts. I did stay for 6 months as I found it helped me stay motivated being weighed at a class, but this forum is a fantastic support too,so now I just use this. As seren say, the quality of meeting will depend on the leader -but try it for a few weeks, and get chatting to other members and you might find it works for you. But you certainly don't have to return. Look forward to hearing how you are doing.
QT - I'm really enjoying your enthusiam and growth in understanding what is going to work for you. I really believe you are going to achieve good weight loss, because you've stuck with us for a while now and haven't disappeared while you're working all this out.:j .
LL Fab losses so far - hang on to this if you get a small gain one week - remember how despondent you felt when you put on a 1lb in the 2nd week - you stuck with the plan and it's working:T
Delly -that's a better than hoped for result for in laws and well deserved. Fortunately my OH's mother isn't nearly as bad as bails's and I tend to collect her barbed comments to share with friends later for entertaining shock value. I'm never going to 'enjoy' her company but I can bare it. Yes it is always about the other person and their stuff, but it helps if you have others around you who can confirm that, particularly your OH. (By the way, my hall needs decorating... Fancy a holiday in Brighton:D )
Weigh in today granny- I am well chuffed - I have lost 1lb so that brings me back to my maintain weighttrampo.gif. And I know that I only went up a lb for a few days so my confidence is building that I really can do this. I really can stay this size, becasue I am happy with the amount of food I am eating, and having treats. Gearing up to wave goodbye the the loser's end of the chart and join the maintainers...I think it's time to move me granny (lump in throat), on the understanding I can pop back if I need to.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Serendisglair and Brighton belle Thank You,

So there is half hour really to turn up in and be weighed before the meeting starts, I might just make it then! I suppose I need to chck with the lady who runs my local class.

The problem is you see, my local class starts at 12.30 and I break for lunch at 1.00 so was hoping to be able to nip round the corner in time for weighing and staying for the class.

I will try to get hold of her today.

    Hi all

Hope you are all well - hopefully I'll catch up with everyone properly soon.

Granny, can you put me on the chart for a 1lb loss this week please.

    Thanks

Yeah another one for the maintainers team! :D:D:D You know it makes sense BB! Congrats! :T

Folks I am having a 'mare today. Trying to make a start on sorting out all my pre-digital photographs/negatives. I have put this job off for YEARS and done just about everything else I can possibly do in the house to avoid it.

Just took a break for lunch, and the thought of going back to the sorting is making me want to run away screaming :rotfl:

Well done so far on the losses guys..keep it up!

missyg I am sure that raisins will work as well..i think it is also good, if you are on the go and bound to feel a bit peckish you can put it in a small freezer bag or something

BB Thanks, you have really been an encouragement to me, as all the rest of you!! So now I know that even when you fall down you gotta get back up!

    Have a great day guys!

    QT xx
