I am thinking of doing Lighter Life or w8....as I am just desperate to lose weight and desperaely unhappy with myself and how I look.

I have an underactive thryroid which makes dieting harder...but I know it doesnt make dieting impossible. Due to things going on in my personal life I am just not managing to stick to diets....but I think I could stick to something where I just eat from pack provided and drink.

    But..it's the cost...has anyone positive experiences??
Hi Rharni: you'll find lots of sympathetic support on this forum: quite a few of us are struggling with various health problems and medication and emotion/life issues that makes losing weight difficult. And we have a number of folks who've lost over 100lbs over the last year and others a 1lb a week which has now reached 2-3 stone loss. No regular member that I am aware of is doing lighter life, I'd say we tend to work towards forming new healthy eating habits so that we lose the weight for good. (And yes we fall off the wagon, but with the support here, we get back on again)That is in no way intended to crticise your desire for lighter life: as bails says - we can all relate to looking in a mirror and feeling dreadful about ouselves. Do stick with us - sounds like you are going through a hard time at the mo, and I'd hate to think what a potential short term fix like LL could do to your morale when it all piles back on when you return to your noraml eating habits.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Have to be very quick...

...Beanie You can do it and will do it!!! I know how hard it is, but just remember that the warmer weather will soon be with us and think how disappointed you'll be if you're a stone or more heavier (because it will soon pile on) you'll be angry with yourself that you gave in. Anyway, I don't think anyone here will let you pack it in, as you're a very valued member of this thread :A . By all means relax a bit, but don't give in please! Have a glass or two of wine as a treat at the weekends say, don't deprive yourself entirely x ...

...Vixarooni You are a genius  I am now the proud (and somewhat stunned) owner of a 32C bra :j :j :j It fits lovely :j :j :j It was only £12 as well :j :j :j a lovely pale green one from Debenhams, which I tried on before I bought it (was a bit sceptical at the last minute, sorry :o ) and that is a first in itself too! I wanted to look for more but I had my mother with us and she was in a *$%^** mood so that ruined the day grrr!...

...Welcome eilju321 and Rharni You'll find great help here on a variety of subjcts as well as slimming. I wish you both well, stick with us and you'll soon be see the benefit :j ...

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

I feel pressured that my advice isnt going to work :p haha.

Just take is as a direction to go in. Obviously every boob is different and what i said is general so if it goes wrong you cant all sue me. Cos then that lb i lost would go right on me again and none of you would want that :p

Rharni: my advice to you is to take things a step at a time. A quick fix now wont ever last for the long term. You'll also probably feel a lot worse loosing all that weight, putting it back on again 6 months later with a bit more on top.
What i do is have soup for lunch. Low on calorie and fills me up nicely. I have the chicken consomme like ones. Cheap, quick and tasty. Ticks all my boxes!

brightonbelle: brighton is becoming a nightmare. Looks like going to have to fork out the money cos there is nothing going cheap. Its not like i can turn up on the day and get my boobs out in the hope of at least a nights free stay! Boyfriend wouldnt be too pleased, but desperate times eh!! :p

Hi Granny, good luck with the Ofsted people tomorrow. I do hope it goes well, and that your kids are well behaved when the inspectors are around!

Many thanks Vix for all that help about bras. I'm going to print it off too.
I'm a 34E/F depending on the make, and have quite a number of pretty bras, but I tend to go back to the one or two that really fit well, regardless of what they look like.

Hope everyone has a really good week. I'm disappointed with my eating and have decided to stop buying the crisps and choc bis for my son's lunchboxes. I'm eating them more than he is! Ha ha. This is only my first week and I already want to miss out this week's weigh in. Oh dear. Time to start afresh! Anyway, have a lovely week ahead, and thanks for all your support xx

Not a fan of things like LL at all. Personally I dont think you learn anything from them. Yes the losses are fantastic but you lose all the weight in double quick time, stop the plan and are back to square one. At least with a healthy plan which will be slower, youll find you re educate yourself and your relationship with food.

Yeah me too! The gooey chocolate pudding sounds yummy, the ones that melt in the middle are gorgeous!! Sometimes now though, I prefer to have savoury stuff so will have starter and main and no pud; strange!

Bails - I hope I start to feel like that - people say that if you avoid really fattening and sweet foods for a few weeks you go off them and no longer crave them - here's hoping!!! I know the ones you mean too, they're on the m&s advert too and look soooo lovely although goodness only knows how much fat and sugar they have in them!!

Vics - Thanks for all the info! I'm one of the DD+ club and swear by Fantasie, i've had moulded ones from m&s and the like and they really are no good for me I bouce out even reaching top shelf in supermarket!

Granny - Good luck with Offsted, my best friend is a teacher and dreads them but it's always ok and i'm sure yours wil be too
Nice attitude! For those of us who dont go to classes Ebay is about the only way you can get the guides. Id be surprised if the Shopping Guide etc came free, WW charge a bit for them too.

I guess I count as one of the 'suckers' dont want to pay through the nose for it but if unscrupulous people put it on at extortionate prices to try make some money out of those of us struggling with our weight..........................
Starlight - sorry no offence was meant it was just a jokey comment as part of a conversation, not meant to offend anyone and i'm sorry it's offended you.:o WW charge £3.50 for the thicker ones just as a guide to people thinking of buying one from Ebay, if you know anyone who goes to a meeting they could pick one up maybe. Alternatively there is a link mentioned in this thread to a lady who is doing the WW plans website where all the info from the book is on for free.

Ajax - do you still want the Frankie & Bennies page PM'ing?

Hope everyone has had a good weekend

    Hi everyone,
Ive totally forgotten who said about the DD+ bras being ugly, but i do understand what you mean! Some of them are really rank. Have you tried Freya? they jazz them up a bit, but they can sometimes go too far. The trouble is, when you get up to DD+ having a bra that is moulded doesnt really work. For t shirt bras try the debenhams own make ones. They have lace trims but are smooth and seamless on the cup. Doesnt work if you have sagged though cos of the double layering in the cup.
    Went

Yes, vix - I've tried Freya too but find them prohibitively expensive on my budget so always go back to M&S

. My problem is all of the bigger sized bras I see have lace details at the top, and seams halfway and they look awful through a tee - shirt, blouse, everything except a chunky knit jumper (which I obviously will never wear)...

I did lose a load of weight before I had DS,got down to a 36D and got beautiful t-shirt bras from M&S which helped my pokey problem so well and looked lovely with a lowish cut top because the band between the boobs was low too. Now I find I have to look very carefully at where the bra begins and the top ends as I was at a party last summer and one of my Oh's relatives pointed out you could see the bow from my bra poking out from my top by walking up to me and pulling it  Odd odd family.

Anyway - I do plan a shopping trip soon to Debenhams for new undies (some of my underwear is older than my son! - not good:rotfl: ) Thanks for all the advice

All of this of course is a distraction to my having been terrible again this week and not counted a single point. Someone mentioned earlier that you get fed up with sweet things - I can vouch for this, I'm fed up eating chocolate sweets biscuits and takeaways... roll on my veggies this week.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Try the debenhams t shirt ones, theyre called gorgeous which i think i forgot to mention!

I hate paying £20 odd quid for a bra (i very rarely do) but i think to have a good bra when you got big boobs is one of the best investments to make, short term and long. I love marks, i have this bra and god its poo,ive kept it cos i like the look of it but i dunno why i put my boobs through it! I also got fitted there and was apalled! she measured around my band (got it wrong) and then around my cup (highly inacurate) and that was that. She didnt even get me a bra i could try on! It was incorrect aswell. Plus we get ALOT of people who have been fitted badly in marks. They see a big pair of boobs and woosh its 42C when really they should be 36E or something.

i secondly hate it because only the other day i had to have a B cup instead of a C. And also when i went in there was hardly any new bras since the last time i was there. The bras they do have, have stupid lace and frills that would show through loads of tops.

Right im shutting up now :p Ive had a bad day food wise. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!
