afternoon everyone, hope you are well.
Went out this morning and bought some glass storage jars from Dunelm mill so very chuffed :j
Also got some flour/sugar butter from Aldi as had a few bananas on the turn. I now have one banana loaf cooling(used catowens recipe I think) and one ready to go in.
Tea tonight is beef stew and dumplings. Or will be i I ever stop baking cakes and start on it.
Signed up to Slice the Pie today after reading about it on the up your income board and have made a few pennies. Just as well as we bought guitar hero 3 for the xbox today (£65!!) as a reward for 2 weeks of non smoking. We have saved £250 by not smoking though so guess that's good.0 -

evening all,
had a busy day, got all housework done, made leftover and peeling soup, made pasta bake for DD lunch, and made some peanutbutter and smartie cookies. Have just got back from the school run, and put the spuds on to boil, OH will be home soon and will be freezing so a nice dinner to warm him up
.
Jayward, you really seem to be going through the mill at the moment, please try to take care of yourself, there is always someone on here to have a 'chat' to, so keep us posted xx
Will have a hot bath later and a night in front of the TV.
Have good evenings all xx0 -
Hi, just a quickie post, although I have been reading and flitting in and out here all day.
Poor Pooky, that's what happens when you have a day off, your body clock is all out of sorts.
Hugs to Jayward and Tru and Odds, hope you all start to improve.
N9eav, hope it's not something narsty you've imported from the US.
Shoulder of lamb and veggies in the slow cooker for tea.
It's done nowt but rain here today and I'm off to work now for a couple of hours. Not much to do though, a couple of washes to dry and that's it. no doubt this awful weather will keep folk at home.

Well stew is on and first banana bread is out of oven and already half eaten! It's delicious! Will try to show more restraint with the 2nd one but have 3 more bananas so think I'll be making more tomorrow

Hi everyone. Just sat down with a cuppa.
MRSMIX - my sister has to use a walking stick but she found a shop that sold really pretty ones; she chose one covered in beautifully painted flowers and it's a real talking point everywhere she goes. I'll try and find out where she bought it. She hated her original typical one but doesn't mind being seen with this one.
VEGASLOVER - I love this thread because you feel you are amongst real friends; you can celebrate good news, moan about the family, have a good rant about injustice, share menus, have a damn good laugh, get guaranteed sympathy when you are ill and genuine concern when things go wrong, pick up tips that save you money, ask questions about practically anything and be sure to get an anwer and, well, I could go on. I love the fact that, although we wouldn't recognise each other if we passed in the street (or perhaps we would, maybe we all have a sort of MSE OS glow?) you can still form what feels like genuine friendships, even with people on the other side of the world. You don't feel judged or criticised and we don't argue or get stroppy with each other. This thread has kept me going through good times and bad and I wouldn't swap it for all the tea in China!
BLAIRWEECH and JAYWARD - you must both take it really easy and take care not to overdo things.
Well, my afternoon plan for office filing and sorting out disappeared. My BIL was emailed insurance documents for his car and couldn't open the attachments for some reason so he emailed them to me, I opened them, he gave me all his details, I completed the forms, scanned them, then emailed them back to him. I have a scanner/photocopier that I bought just before Christmas which I haven't had chance to use but I managed to get all the sheets scanned. I was a bit put out because, all in all, it took about an hour and half, but I have learned a lot about the machine so I won't moan. It's as if I had a tutorial!
Well, I'd better go and do something like put the lamps on and draw the curtains. I shall be so glad when it really does start to get lighter in the evenings.
Hope you all have a good evening. May pop back later.
See ya.

Downside is received tax bill this morning which is larger than I expected and with DS's massive bill it is going to be very tight when we come home from holiday, lucky hol is paid for and spending money has been exchanged.
Oh well its always like this this time of year.
Off now, need to boil spuds to have with our salad.
