REDRUBY - I'll try and watch Louis Theroux tonight. As far as sentences go, I wish we were tougher over here. You can literally get away with murder in Britain these days. There have been lots of murders here where 521 year would not be long enough for a prison term.
I'm not usually of the *flog 'em and hang 'em* persuasion myself, more *wooly liberal*but am astounded that a man could be let out on parole when charged with the murder of his wife
His MIL was subsequently found murdered, too, and he's been found dead. Full story here for anyone who missed it. As he was a Met Police Inspector, it may well have been a case of *who you know*.

Morning everyone
Had a good sleep so feeling quite good today and blood sugar was good too, which bodes well for tomorrow's diabetic blood screening.
W**k today and will no doubt work overtime but as I have tonight's dinner in the fridge, I'm not too worried about that and the money will definitely come in handy.
I'm another one who watched Sense and Sensibility. I don't think it will go down in history as a defining production of Jane Austen - the men really weren't up to much were they? I thought in the first two episodes that Elinor was very good but last night she just seemed to stare into space with her mouth hanging open far too much. :rotfl: Lark Rise to Candleford looks promising though.
Will the Louis Theroux programme be repeated on one of the other BBC channels? I was reading about it and it sounded very interesting. Sorry I missed it.
((((hugs)))) to those who need one - in particular Jayward, Odds and N9eav. Hope you all feel better soon.
Have a marvellous Monday all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

we are getting rid of aa fridge and donating to a local catholic charity that helps out families suddenly in difficult circs.. e.g heard of grandparents that suddenly had custody of 3 GC and needed extra beds. Fridge will be collected. Understand that in some areas Salvation army do the same. Also needing clothes kitchen stuff etc etc, as some families starting from scratch, maybe after fire or similar.Morning QUEENIE, CATOWEN, TATTYCATH and SCUZZ and all who follow.
Like you, SCUZZ, my car is full of charity shop stuff. My local shops aren't taking donations at the moment so I may take the clothes to one of the textile bins or phone a charity to see if I can find one to collect it.

Good Morning All
Excited for OH today, he has a job interview! Fingers crossed for him!
Had a very busy day on Sunday. OH did the weekly shop, needed at lot more things (we have guests arriving for the wk end, so buying extra aswell as runing things low), total spend £62 incl, pet food, pack up stuff, fridge/freezer, fresh, toiletry items! (very good considering it used to be £100-120 before finding this site!
Collected that card stand on Saturday. Took a little longer than expected, but we had a lovely drive through the Peaks!
Had to take the Dog to the vets, her eye is bloodshot & very cloudy, she has an ulcer in the cornea, so is now on eye drops & anti-inflammitary tablets, she goes back weds for a check up, needs checking regular, hope it clears up, as Im not liking the sound of "what could be" if further treatment is required!
Did the housework & Eventually I tidied my craft cupboard & drawers out, it took me about 4hours, but got it sorted.
Sold a few things on ebay. 2 items was being collected. 1 lady turned up, the other never did! That annoyed me,as I had to wait in for her and missed going to my friends for her birthday & few drinks!
Dlb - hope you've managed to calm down. I too find it rude than parents can ignore another parent cos their child isn't at the same school (and I no which school your refferinng too BTW) And its those kids who end up pregnant too the moment they leave (I know as my cousin was one of them) :rotfl: When booking the entertainment, make sure they'll turn up! (unlike the dj for my DD 6th birthday) Ive got a list of party games, and great idea's for snack/foods, shout up if you need me! I love organising kids parties!
Belated BirthdayWishes to Heather & Lilibet!
Danni - well done with finding that £20.
Donny-gal - my step dad lives in Torreveija, Alicante! He's been there 18 yrs now. My mum returned back to the UK about 9yrs ago, he stayed there!
Have a great day all

Morning all:wave:
In work bright and early - no idea how I managed that, as I went for a pub lunch with some school friends yesterday and I didn't get home until 9pm! Have just filled in my spending spreadsheet, which was a bit of an eye opener - my socialising budget is now well and truly spent! Not much planned for the rest of the month though.
Anyway, MrS is still poorly and has taken the day off work. Hopefully I'll be able to get away a bit early to play nurse - the house is a tip as well so could do with a clean up!
Have a good day all!0 -
Morning.
Going to pop into town to check out Boots, see if the 75% sale is on. Then a trawl round the charity shops to find some clothes for the gym and maybe trainers ( I want to start doing pilates but have nothing to wear!).
Then I am going to pick up a pair of baby monitors from freecycle - the lady said she had lots of baby toys in the loft as well so today might be quite productive!

Hi everyone. I'm at OHs w*rk now. Just got to get motivated-difficult today... lots to do though. Ran out of washpowder last night. got to get some and a few other bits later today. Would rather be at home trying to de-bomb site my house!!! Ah well, I did promise I'd do Oh a favour so, I'm here now and I guess the sooner we crack on the sooner I can go home
Hope all who are ill get well soon and all who are well stay that way. (((hugs))) for all who need them or want themGE 36 *MFD may 2043

Good morning:D
Just back from the gym and had a lovely breakfast of scrambled egg on HM wholemeal toast;)
Got to drive to a shop only about 5 miles away ( well I haven't GOT to, but I want to ) not too far but I know it will take a good 30 minutes or so each way:rolleyes: Still I should easily get the fabrics etc that I couldn't get at Oxford Street's John Lewis:D
Then this afternoon I'm babysitting DGS2 and DGS once he's back from school, so that will be fun. DIL has the dentist:eek:
Can't see too much time available for housework, what a shame:rotfl:
Best get started. Hope you have the days you want.
