For valentines day I have made a canvas with a picture of me and my husband on and my favourite quote. The canvas was from poundland and painted and I found some great bargains like a butterfly napkin ring to add on:

For my anniversary (two weeks after Valentines Day)
I am doing a picnic in his bedroom, already i have the picnic basket and blanket, wine glasses and wine and a few sweeties. I've made a bit of salad with warm chicken and a few sausage rolls (a bit of picnic food)
It depends what you want to buy and how much you spend but i reckon you could do it for about £5-£6
..xxI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -

Hi all
This is my first time posting as I have spent the last few months getting to know the site and finding it incredibly useful. So thank you very much.
My Valentines idea is home made items, to keep costs down as OH and I have just moved into a rented house and are finding everything costing so much!! I have found some suggestions on here excellent, especially the chocolate hearts, how simple and easy but effective!! However I would really like to make some lovely valentines cupcakes but can't find a decent recipe. I'm more worrying about the icing and decoration ideas than the actual cupcake mix as this can be made fairly easily. Any ideas??Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. I bought a football programme for my OH for the year he was born. (I checked first to make sure his team actually won the game!). There are usually quite a selection on E-bay and, depending on the popularity of your team, you can pick them up for under a fiver (mine cost £1.84, inc p&P)£5 per day challenge

Hi
Just like to say I have put together some printable valentines cards for everyone to use, they are really easy to make all you need to be able to do is press print.
They can be found at the following url

I have included a few sample below. Hope you enjoy them

Not sure if this really counts or not...but my partner and I are going to go for a romantic walk up to the local butterfly farm. British Waterways have a nice article with some free walks and cheap/free attractions you can visit on Valentine's day too.0

Hi
Really brimming with ideas after reading this. You're a real bunch of romantics
Hoping that I get a romantic meal cooked for me at home, ideally not including Tiramisu from Aldi.
Sorry, sure it really yummy.
Seems like everyone wants to do Valentines on the cheap this year. Found some more ideas on the Times website at http://timesbusiness.typepad.com/money_weblog/2009/02/how-to-have-a-creditcrunched-valentines.html
