Do you know that Shrinkie stuff? You draw on it and then heat it up and it shrinks to 7 times smaller, its thick and rigid.

We have some for the kids, I was bored with painting lol so I wrote a love letter to my OH and painted hearts on it, I've shrunk it and its dinky and cute, he can fit it in his wallet and it'll last forever.

Just a cute little idea I hope you like :)

Aaaarghh - I tried this last night cos i thought it was a brilliant idea. The 1st one looked silly because I had written on the frosted side so it looked back to front.

The 2nd one - I managed to write out the poem, back to front, coloured it, shrank it and then noticed I had missed out one of the more crucial words from a line and now the poem didn't make sense.

3rd attempt - Wrote out the poem back to front - fine, coloured in the little pictures I'd drawn around the edges - fine, shrank it, the bl##dy thing shrank and somehow melted the corner into the middle and stuck solid. I desperately tried to soften it up again so I could release it and the whole corner stretched and then broke off:mad:

At this point, having spent several hours in total and totally used up all my shrink plastic I gave up -BUT I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED - I'm going to get some more on the weekend because I still think it's a great idea.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Where do you get the shrinkie plastic stuff from? I'd love to give this a go too. Can you just use a hair dryer to heat it up or do you need special equipment??

When it used to come free in Shreddies (they did Tom & Jerry with it!!) when I was a kid, we used the oven

He likes sweet stuff too so I could spent some cash on some nice tit bits like chocolate spread and can of whipped cream. That would all go to make a very nice hamper.
I am sure it will be appreciated. Not exactly romantic or subtle but thats what he likes.

Made me laugh, you are dead specific.

Can you not write on the smooth side normally perhaps with OHP pens or the like & heat as the method ( oven or craft heat gun )
I don't see why you need to write back to front.

  • Make a funky photo collage of yourself and your otherhalf (possibly including photos of both of you when you were children). Cut up the photos - lay them out till you like how it looks - then glue it all together.

Make sure you buy a nice frame first to make sure you get the sizing right! Possibly from ebay or IKEA?
